The Gouf, the MS that keeps on giving. Even though it only lasted for the OYW and a little bit beyond that, all of its tech from Heat Rod to Gun Hand have made it into various MS throughout the UC. Hell, the Gallus is almost a Gouf 2.0 with many similar features.
You missed few MS. V Gundam also has Jabaco with the classic heat rods (and its forearms are reasonably larger than usual). Rig Shokew (Imperial Guard) also has "metal whip" that's actually turns red when used. RF Gouf from F90 has upgrade version of the classic heat rod with beam emitter at its tip. And at least video game anomation show it glowing when used. Gundam Aquarius has a pair of heat rod similar to Epyon's, but with shape similar to UC classic heat rod.
As a fellow whip-weapon fan who puts wire anchors and/or heat wires on almost all of my custom gunpla builds (heck just did it to my hg dilanza custom's front skirt), I think we legit need more of these in the next big gundam entry
Its more late/post UC, but I think the Grimoire's Wire Hook and the Beam Wire feature it shares with the G-Arcane are worth noting. The Wire Hook is seemingly similar if not exactly the same as the Heat Wire even thousands of year later. The Beam Wire however had the cutting and constricting fuctions of the old heat rod. Both functions split between seperate two weapons. The G-Arcane has one Beam Wire emitter in each arm similar to the Gouf while the Grimoire's Wire Hook is in the arm and its Beam Wire is essentially a secondary firing option of its beam machine gun. The Grimoire is one of the main units of the Amerian Military, and considering Ameria used ancient blue prints from the Universal Century for building the very Zeta-esque G-Arcane, it would not surprise me if the Grimoire was directly inspired by old data from the Gouf. Feels very appropriate considering the the first Grimoire pilot we see, Cahill Saint, is very much felt like G Reco's equivalent to Ramba Ral.
my favorite thing about the agguguy boxart will always be the fading-out acguy in the corner. it's like the agguguy is thinking about his long-dead dad or something like "i will avenge you, father!"
I just discovered another MS that is a Gouf it is the OMS-07RF RF Gouf it was manufactured by Mars Zeon independence army it’s just a Advance Gouf that’s supposed to look like an old one, but still with some changes to it mostly to confuse pilots to think that it’s just a super old MS when in reality it’s a MS that could give them a good challenge

there is also form the F90 manga series the RF kampfer has a triple heat wire launcher which is a wrist mounted launcher that fires 3 heat wires similar to the gouf custom's heat wires
Bro, how could you forget about the ZM-S20S Jabaco it uses to heat rods on both of its arms and it could also be used as a electric whip or as a grapple weapon to grapple on other opponents and it’s literally developed from the Gouf
You missed a suit in in UC time line AMX-101E Schuzrum-Galluss has two of the shock grapple type in its chest it also used the mine chain only seen on the Kampher before it
7:19 Doms have a hard time turning sharply, being able to use the heatwire as an anchor to slip around on could be interesting, if they're not moving so fast they just break it.
Im guessing the heat rod was using metal that wasnt as conductive to heat like the other heat weopons making it just shock. Or maybe the common heat weopons are just heating up in a different way from the heat rod.

Yeah, the Gouf's heat rod seems more like a tangle and stun weapon that can cut but is not intended for that as its primary use.

How the rod stored in Gouf's arm is mysterious for me.
I think the heat part does as it does not heat the wip part but as it wraps around the electric current starts to heat and melt the enemys casing

the rafflesia is the coolest thing about F91 tbh. i would instantly buy a 1/250 rafflesia model kit no matter the price.
