  • The Texas Hill Country Overland Route is located in central Texas between Mason and Fredericksburg.
The entire route spans over 191 miles of farm and ranch land. Suggested time for this route is 2-4 days.
Longest distance without fuel is 70 miles.
The Texas Hill Country Route is and easy trail with smooth roads. There is no technical terrain, however the many water crossings can become impassable during heavy rains, so use cation.
The route passes through large private lands, and dispersed camping is illegal without prior permission form ranchers, but there are paid campsites in the area.
We used GAIA GPS to navigate this journey.

Unfortunately, dirt roads are almost a thing of the past. That's the price of progress. Progress can happen without the total destruction of natural beauty, but it won't. Progress always destroys those things we hold dear.

I couldn’t agree more!! We moved to a small town and love it. Less conveniences, but so much more peace and nature 😌
