    Super cool. I've been wanting to develop my skills in beauty work - but presumed it would cost a lot to get a user friendly software. This seems to be affordable! Thank you for sharing!

    Evan, did you mention that Silhouette Paint for After Effects requires image sequence files to work on?

    • @ECAbrams
      @ECAbrams  4 года назад

      I'm not sure about image sequence specifically. But you do need a layer of some kind. Maybe I misspoke about image sequences?

    • @-maxx-
      @-maxx- 3 года назад

      I don't know about After Effects specifically, but I believe the Paint plugin does its video rendering from the host (i.e. after effects, fusion, nuke, etc). The standalone version of Silhouette (the non-paint version) is what requires image sequences, although video is supposedly coming soon to that. The standalone version is effectively it's own compositor, and I'm mildly interested to see where Boris takes that.

    This is a bit of a longshot, but i'm giving Silhouette a trial for a project at work and for the life of me I cannot get the painted fx to update in AE after doing the work.
    I've traced a moving object with outlines, rebuilt the paint, saved and closed silhouette and nothing seems to happen in AE.
    Anybody have any clues what i might be doing wrong?

      Interesting. Have you cleared your cache before previewing? Sometimes frames can get stuck in the ram buffer in my experience.

    This tool seems great, but turns out it's another annual subscription software. For $400USD/yr at that.
    I'm sick of all these subscription software plans, they were bad enough when they were core programs but now it's plugins and extensions too. They just make me pay more for a thing over the life of use than I otherwise would have had I purchased individual versions. But moreover, I never own that thing with a subscription, I'm just renting it. If I stop paying I lose access no matter how much money I've sunk into subscription.
    I just want to buy the thing and own the version. Nothing else to pay.

    • @fs7572

      it´s even worth: I wanted to stop my subscription (cc) in the middle of a year and expected to pay for the rest of this year. But no way! Adobe wanted to stop my account right away and get me a bill presented to pay a higher price for the month I´m using cc. Now as a monthly discriber ...
