I can only absolutely agree! I had a workshop with Ray Brown back in the early 90‘s at UNT. And the word „funky“ is what I use to describe the experience. Besides all the other aspects that I could witness of having fun while playing etc., plus the fact that Ray has been an incredible nice and sophisticated gentleman. For me Christian McBride and Dave Holland keep up the Ray Brown flame, each in their very own unique way!
