Actually, her very last song on stage was 珍惜再會時 (Cherish Until We Meet Again). The song is a rendition of The Manhattans' "Kiss and Say Goodbye". It's on her eight studio album if you're wondering, 似火探戈 (Burning Tango, 1987). Anita performed this song only on the very last day of her final concert after Sunset Melody. She was accompanied by her friends on the stage too. Before finishing the last line of the song, "Let's Just Kiss and Say Goodbye", she teared up and said "I Love You" to her fans before saying her final goodbye.
At the end of the song, she walked up to the opening gate then paused. Then she turned her head, waved her hand and said goodbye with a smile that would stay will all of her fans forever. That moment was just beyond so emotional. Forever Love.
Anita's dark and melancholic Alto is just perfect. So conversational and compelling... Besides, Cantonese is full of low tones. Everything she sings has more gravity, weight and meaning behind it. That's why l absolutely adore the Contralto sound.
Anita is a beautiful soul. She possessed such talent with her timeless and soothing vocals. Brings back memories of my youth. A time which I long for. When my parents were still young and healthy. Us kids have no cares in this world and were free from the responsibilities/burdens of adulthood. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the translations as my Cantonese is not good.
