    Such a great, classic hotel, they've done a great job of keeping the services current in an historic setting.

      We really enjoyed the classic feel to the hotel. It was something different from the current modern ones. That’s for watching and commenting. Happy travels 🦩

    Hey very cool - my first career was in hospitality and I worked at the King Eddie for 12 years from 1989 to 2001. It's a grand old hotel for sure! I'm Facebook friends with a bunch of people who either worked there or still work there, and it's always fun to remember our times working with each other. I remember some of the famous people who stayed there during my tenure too, most were just regular people.

      Wow that is so cool you worked there. I can only imagine some of the people who stayed there and the stories you have. Thanks for sharing. Happy travels 🦩

    How far is it to the arena for a concert?

    • @jimdatlenRealEstate
      @jimdatlenRealEstate Год назад

      Not sure which arena you mean but if it's the Scotiabank Arena (formerly the Air Canada Centre) at 40 Bay Street, it's 10 minutes walk.

      @@jimdatlenRealEstate thanks. Any other recommendations for hotels when going to a concert at that arena?

      @@bstanz5266 For Scotiabank Arena, the King Eddie is good of course for a classic hotel. Another 'grand olde dame' is the Fairmont Royal York at 100 Front St. West. If you want a more modern style hotel then I'd do the Delta Hotels by Marriott at 75 Lower Simcoe St, or the Le Germain at 75 Bremner Blvd. There's so many hotels to choose from, it all depends on your style & budget. Either way, parking will be pricey (expect to pay $50CAD+) but if you're not driving, then choose a downtown hotel like the ones I've mentioned so you can walk many places. The TTC (subway/streetcar system) is also safe and relatively inexpensive and will get you to most attractions and/or neighbourhoods to visit.
