      Rumor is that he has a clause in the contract that if Helmuth Marko leaves, he can also leave without any legal penalty. And since Max said many times last year when Marko was under fire that if Marko leaves he will also leave, people are making an argument that it's possible for this to be true (also fueled by the fact Marko allegedly said if Max wants to leave for Mercedes, he will not stay in his way)

    *Max is staying with Red Bull. Here is why:*
    - Jos Verstappen had dinner with Toto Wolff. They know eachother for 25 years. It's normal that they would have conversations.
    - Toto Wolff was asked about Lewis' seat going to Max. He said it's possible since it's open to everyone for now.
    - Naturally Toto Wolff is gonna respond this because Max is the best driver on the current grid. Everyone wants him.
    - Everyone on the grid is talking to eachother all the time. That doesn't mean they're really talking about a transfer.
    - Max is very loyal to Red Bull and has a contract until the end of 2027. It's more likely he won't renew the contract to quit F1.
    - Max has exit clauses. One of them is that he requires a competitive car. Mercedes doesn't fit that criteria.
    - The RB20 is a competitive car and it's very likely the RB21 is also gonna be competitive. Only 2026 is a question mark for now.
    - Not likely that key personnel like Newey leaves for Mercedes. They have exit clauses with other personnel.
    - Red Bull did it's investigation on Christian Horner and concluded he isn't getting fired. So he's not getting fired anytime soon.
    - There is no new investigation on Red Bull's end about the new proof. If there is any, they'll communicate that with everyone.

    • @rars0n
      @rars0n 11 месяцев назад +2

      "-Jos Verstappen had dinner with Toto Wolff. They know eachother for 25 years. It's normal that they would have conversations."
      All the more reason why Max would seek to move to Mercedes if he were thinking of leaving. Surely you're not naive enough to not realize that Toto is keeping his options open through his relationships with people like Jos, right?
      "- Toto Wolff was asked about Lewis' seat going to Max. He said it's possible since it's open to everyone for now. "
      Obvious statement is obvious. As if Toto wouldn't jump at the chance of signing Max.
      "- Max is very loyal to Red Bull and has a contract until the end of 2027. It's more likely he won't renew the contract to quit F1."
      I don't even know what this is supposed to imply. If Max wants to continue in F1, then it's not a given that he will want to stay with Red Bull through 2027. Especially with RBPT making their own engine for the 2026 season. Also, Max is loyal to Helmut and his dad, not Red Bull.
      "- Max has exit clauses. One of them is that he requires a competitive car. Mercedes doesn't fit that criteria."
      I have news for you: Red Bull will not have a competitive car in 2026, and Max knows this.
      "- The RB20 is a competitive car and it's very likely the RB21 is also gonna be competitive. Only 2026 is a question mark for now."
      "a question mark" is putting it lightly. Yes, the 2025 car will be great, I'm sure, but the new engine regs will likely put Mercedes at the top again.
      "- Not likely that key personnel like Newey leaves for Mercedes. They have exit clauses with other personnel."
      Like Horner, from what I hear. What makes you think that Horner is going to stick around after all of this bullshit?
      "- Red Bull did it's investigation on Christian Horner and concluded he isn't getting fired. So he's not getting fired anytime soon."
      That doesn't mean he doesn't see the writing on the wall, or an opportunity to move to another team. Consider if Max left and Horner stays: he will have 2025 with a superior car before years of losing with RBPT engines. Horner of all people would be smart enough to pivot to another team before getting stuck in that mess. I think it's likely both Max and Horner are gone by 2026.

    • @BoyFromBelgium99
      @BoyFromBelgium99 11 месяцев назад

      - Carlos Sainz Sr also had talks with Horner & Marko about Red Bull's second seat. There are talks going between other drivers & other team bosses. It's very unlikely Max will go to Mercedes, especially when now Mercedes is in a downwards spiral.
      - Toto's & Jos's dinner wasn't about Max but because they're friends.
      - It's because of Max that Red Bull push themselves to deliver a superior car to him. Max won't leave them for a team that can't give him those guarantees. Max isn't stupid and won't change teams until after his contract ends. Even then like I mentioned he'll likely quit F1 than move to Mercedes or any other team.
      - Mercedes will have a worse car in 2026 than Red Bull. 2022 is proof of that. Mercedes is in a downwards spiral meanwhile Red Bull has the best personnel. Red Bull has to deliver, meanwhile Mercedes are struggling to even get a car of 2 seasons ago right.
      - Red Bull makes official statements, this was also given during the official F1 weekend warm up in Bahrain. Horner is cleared of charges against him and future evidence will maybe result in another investigation but getting fired is so unlikely.
      - No key personnel from Red Bull will change teams. Don't be stupid.

    • @espvp
      @espvp 11 месяцев назад +5

      I see holes in all of your arguments but just wanted to throw my two cents into to one in specific: The Adrian Newey/key RB personnel not leaving.
      That same Adrian Newey left Williams in the late 90’s after disagreements on who should drive the next year. Newey left because Frank didn’t want to sign Damon Hill again, and the mighty engineer leaving marked the downfall of the team. Pair that with probably receiving a better pay and puff he’s gone. Don’t be so naive thinking people are loyal to a brand. People are loyal to a paycheck, and at most to personal dogma. If for whatever reason Mercedes snatches Max and offers Newey a better deal, you can be sure he will say adios to the bulls.

      I am inclined to agree. There are two manufacturers that I can see nailing the new engine regs: Mercedes and Audi (assuming they make it to 2026). Both of these companies REALLY know how to make good engines. That's not to say that Ferrari or Renault can't (although obviously the latter has struggled in recent years, which says a lot about RBPT's prospects), but Red Bull is going to be facing a MASSIVE uphill battle in 2026 building their own engines. Red Bull will be fine in 2025 but the future after that is a huge question mark and it might behoove Max to switch while the seat is available.

    Although I do have my doubts something to consider is the PU deal with Ford that hangs in the balance. The engine has always been redbulls achilles heel. And no matter how much of a genius Adrien Newey is if another team makes a rocket engine max will be in the dust. Max knows Mercedes can deliver with an engine where Redbull is yet to be seen. That’s the part that makes me think it could happen. Who knows though. I guess I just wasted your time reading this

    Realistically, his best bet to keep winning after 2026 is Merc. It will be interesting to see what will happen to Russel in that case, as I'm pretty sure Toto won't miss out on 'next Verstappen' Antonelli, as he did with original Max. That being said, there is the thing that Max was a Merc junior driver, so basically he would be coming home in a sense.

    2 things to add
    1 Max will never race for Mercedes and or Toto for what happened at Silverstone
    2 Newey bought a sailboat and is going to sail around the world when the RB track car project is finished.
    What happened is that Jos in typical dutch style told horner what he thought about the situation (and rightfully so)
    That doesn’t sell so the media makes it a Jos verstappen coupe at RB.
    Anyone who thinks Jos blows up the team when his kid is winning everything after 20 years total dedication is off the scale nuts.

    Just my opinion and thought but.....
    Its not just J Verstappen that has issues with Horner currently. A Newey is rumoured to be unhappy with the situation according to a lot of reports.
    For the past 4 months he has flip flopped on his opportunity to join Ferrari in 2025, early February he said he was going to stay loyal to Redbull but he had said that months earlier too only to then be considering the move to Ferrari when Hamilton revealed his move for 2025.
    With discontent behind the scenes at Redbull, this and a large financial bonus/contract offer, could swing Newey away from RB especially if RB may struggle with the PU in future seasons.

      Just put Adrian Newey Ferrari in to a search engine and there's endless reports of him going to Ferrari and rejecting Ferrari even as recently as last week Ted Kravitz claiming he won't go as he has refused in the past.....

    A couple of thoughts: If Horner leaves RB, then Newey will likely also leave. Then Ford will be left with a terrible package. Following that, Max will head for the hills, too. He can retire or take up a place in WEC or rallying.This will leave RB with essentially nothing. By that time, the junior RB team will be sold and Andretti will have an easy way in. Hamilton will be a Ferrari and that will amount to a lackluster swan song. (Think Schumacher at MB) MBS has his reputation tarnished and he will be keeping Massi company on a beach, somewhere. Liberty will have fourteen races in the US and only the (reinstated) Turkey and the Arabian races will remain on the calendar. F1 is certainly headed in a terrific direction.

    I wouldnt be too surprised if Max left RBR. He's got the talent and drive to win with Mercedes, plus winning a WDC with a different manufacturer would add to his already impressive career. The engine regs for 2026 could well be a major reason, with Merc likely having the best engine.

    Unless Max has inside information that Mercedes will put up a beast of a machine in 2026, there is no way he has any reason to leave.
    After the contract amendments that prevents key personal to leave a race team with a driver, I doubt any driver will be able to pull a Schumacher ever again, especially with Ferrari, where egos are more important than success and they only talk team until they have a clear number 1 driver at which point they'll ditch that sentiment in a heartbeat.
