  • Devotion to others is not a topic that is discussed very much in our contemporary spiritual scene. We have become afraid that being devoted will drain us dry, that we will lose ourselves. But what if it is through devotion to others that we find ourselves? In this talk, Robert Perry draws on the Course’s many references to devotion to lay out a picture of our calling to emulate the devotion that Jesus has to us, our blocks to being devoted, and how to get past those blocks. He also draws on a real-life example from the life of Course scribe Helen Schucman, where she initially refuses a request for help from co-scribe Bill Thetford but then eventually reverses herself and goes the extra mile. If you want to rethink your relationship with devotion, you won't want to miss this message.

As a person with chronic illness, I am blown away by this insight. I had come to fear that being with & doing for others would somehow drain my reserves, for which I appeared to have little. Now I see how Chronic Fatigue is a symptom of being chronically selfish with my energy… Thank You!

I’m new to a Smartphone and to experience texting with people that are sooo far down this road shocks and Humbled me. I’ve been experiencing ACIM for 272 days and I’m pretty sure it’s had an impact in ways I know and I’m feeling in ways I may never know. To have this gift/tool …I come from Advatia and have a sense of Destiny that grounds me when I question “Can this Really be why I feel Safer in the 🌎world?”

Whoa that was powerful Robert. I’ve never looked at devotion in the Course with such a focus. I’m not surprised I miss it but I am grateful it’s there and u called it out to our attention. In gratitude for all your help! Your “course companion”✌️❤️

“Spoon Theory” is a theme that travels through chronic illness groups, describing how to reserve our healing energy, so that we can restore ourselves. Could this be yet another Ego- illusion we got so wrong? I will choose to see this differently! Thank you!
