    Alfie, we love you! I've traveled through Mexico my whole life, and it was so exciting to find you, and travel with you! My husband and I discovered you and joined you for the whole journey! We will miss you! Love your quirky sense of humor and your awesome attention to detail in your filming! Just so many great touches and surprises! Such a fun, human trip with you! You took us to some great places, and offbeat side-trips with a lot of information. What a land! What a culture and history! Thanks for sharing it with us! (The mural montage to Beiba was otherworldly!) Great soundtracks!

    Great video, my friend. I spent five months in Ajijic back in 2018, in order to have some dental work done that I couldn't afford in the U.S. I loved it there and have plans of returning at the end of April, in order to have more dental work done. Not only was I able to live on less than $1000 a month while there (rent, utilities, and food all combined) but I actually came home with a couple of thousand dollars more in my savings account than I went down there with...and I live solely on social security. And, when I return this time, with the increases in SS over the past six years, I should be able to come back with even more in my savings account, even after paying for my dental work once again. Considering all that, is it any wonder that so many older expats are moving down there? Keep up the good work, loved the video.

      @GringoInterrupted  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! Yes, retirees can have such a better standard of living in Mexico. I’m considering it as well; I was checking out Ajijic for that reason. A little too sleepy for me, but that will probably change as I age. Are you considering a permanent move?

    • @lrcvideoproductions6025
      @lrcvideoproductions6025 6 месяцев назад +1

      No sir, I don't make enough on social security to qualify for either permanent or temporary residence down there either one, so I just enjoy "paradise", as I call it, six months at a time, but that's okay. With the extra money I save down there, I can live with that. But, the local people themselves, all across Mexico, make it worth spending time down there, no matter what length of time one is allowed. God bless ya'.@@GringoInterrupted

    I've enjoy watching all your videos so far, love your creativity and your sense of humor. I do have couple of questions; How old are you (since you've mentioned getting old a couple of times in your videos) and where/how did you learn Spanish (I'm intrigued).

      @@GringoInterrupted Thank you very much for answering my question. You don't look your age, I thought you were in your late 30's. Congratulations, your Spanish it's very good. You made a remark regarding American retirees speaking English in Mexico. What would they say if people spoke Spanish in an American city? Well, in Miami-Dade County 68% of the population speaks Spanish, and they're constantly being criticized by racists and diehards for doing so, a section of the Anglo population which is afraid that Latins are taking over. You were right on the money when you made that remark. Continue to make great videos that the content is top notch, new subscribers will come. RUclips showed me your channel and I took the bait, I'm glad I did; I didn't do any search for Mexico or any of the cities in your videos.

    • @GringoInterrupted
      @GringoInterrupted  6 месяцев назад

      @loumcast Be careful Lou, flattery will get you EVERYWHERE! 😂 Thanks you so much for the comments; I really appreciated it! My Spanish is far from fluent, but I love being able to use it and practice on my trips. Yes, I know Miami is heavily Spanish-speaking. Another commenter also mentioned it (not nicely, but trying to prove me wrong). But in my opinion is that its very different because Cubans were given political asylum after Castro took over, and were more welcomed, as the US viewed them as victims of communism. But from what you’ve said, I guess they’re not as “welcome” as they once were.

    "Americans" go to Mexico?
    How can an entire continent fit in a country that belongs to it?
    Mexico is part of the Americas continent, from Argentina to Canada, FYI

    • @GringoInterrupted
      @GringoInterrupted  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I am aware. Unfortunately, we don’t have a word that makes sense in English for our nationality. In Spanish, I would say “Estadounidenses” but we have no such word (that is in common usage) in English. I’m open to suggestions as to what would fit in the title other than Americans.

      Bought a house in Ajijic and the realtor made a RUclips video showing it. In the comments a local Mexicana complained about it being in English. She said ‘it was only meant for North Americans’ of which I assume Mexico is part of still. On the other hand many people in the US claim Mexico is in Central America or even *gulp* South America. 😮
