Man, I couldn’t leave the wheel wells, and the front of the box white, that would eat me alive. It’s almost a new truck, and that’s the way I’d make it again.

Guys, I have been a painter for over 35 years. In my experience trying to butt match paint, especially pearl is virtually impossible. Even a brand-new vehicle can have variations of shades depending on the factory that built it. We use a vindicator when we mix our paint. I would not have said anything however, you did ask for people’s opinion. Keep up the great work guys are awesome.

had this matching issue 20 years ago doing tornado red on an 02 VW Golf. Finally scraped some paint off a scrap piece to find the proper primer color. I think you are going to have to blend to make it . The bed front and wheel wells are a dead giveaway of a rebuild fix that while you are at it. Really appreciate you guys. ...F

Yes definitely blend all adjacent panels meaning both cab corners and rear door on right side and left front door and why did you not paint the head board? I get the inside raptor liner the bed and I would raptor liner the wheel wells myself because of the typical over the tire rot that they are known for big dollar truck don't get skimping and in the paint notation it should have stated to use a gray sealer/primer.... surprised your paint shop didn't mention it to you first time picking up the color 🤔.....any time I am working with white parts I seal them in gray/black/red/green depending on color covering it white is a brighter to base colors...if you can't tell I have gotten bitten by the white dog a couple times.... now I always look to see what the factory sealer color is.......I did a VW cabriolet once it had a beige sealer/primer and I went with white and what a disaster to color match....me and the paint mixer decided to tint the white with base colors brown and yellow to get it close to the color VW used.....cost me like $600 bucks for the paint and labor to get it right needless to say I didn't make much on that job blend all the panels connected TRI coat is very unforgiving and you will see it...but nice Job I like that you show when something happens and your honest about it....we are all human and not a one of us are perfect.👍👌✌️🇺🇸🇺🇲

Hard work blending. It's hard to know where to stop the clear coat. Son in law does this for a living. I got some blending foam strip for when i did a Motorhome. Best of luck whichever way you go. It was good to see you know how to handle a spray gun. So many paint in an arc instead of staying parallel to the job.

The zebra lines are due to the gun being too close to the panel. PULL BACK. Adjust your fluid feed and fan if needed, but you take so many passes to cover the panel. Your fan is only about what 6 inches tall? It should be 12 or so.
