Hate to burst your bubble, Phandrel, but that triangle visual has nothing to do with the new mechanic. Its the visual for the Resistance boon, which Guardians have small but reasonable access to. It would make sense if the new Spear grants it in some way, so as to ensure the charge skill doesn't get negated.
@@phandrel All boons have visuals, iirc! MightyTeapot demonstrates them all in his boons and conditions video, except for Resolution, cause the video is old enough for Retaliation to still be a thing.
Except for the hybrid auto-a and the gap closer, none of the 3 they've talked about so far were ranged. Really hoping for more closed-to-meta DPS ranged options. Not just mesmers.
spear on guard sounds very much like a wvw weapon to me. the way it talks about how you need to be at frontline with ur allies, how one of a skills dmgs enemy while healing allies, etc. would be nice to have some variation in wvw, the current weapon set for support fb have been the same for ages

Yep, my big hope is on warriors. They direly need a proper ranged option. Longbow is ok for condi, but even then, you swap off when you can.

It does! I kinda have the same idea about Necro and Spear, but with PvP. The whole weapon lends itself to sticking to a target.
