Not sure if youll see this but THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for this video! Literally saved me $1,000! I didnt even break any clips. Getting that light situated back correctly was the hardest part! Also if anyone else comes to this video in need...you can get a Trim Removal tool set at O'rielly's for $15 (as of June 2024 in Texas) Thanks again man.
Thank you so much! You covered the MOST IMPORTANT aspect of this that all the other youtubers completely ignored. This makes your content way better than theirs. Again thank you!
Many, many thanks for this video! I just got my CR-Z back together and confirmed the fault codes are gone. I didn't know where the fan was or how to get to it, but your video made it all pretty easy. Thanks again!
Nice and concise video! Thanks for making this video, because all the other ones as you said, don’t show how to take it apart and get to the fan. Fixed my car yesterday and only took about an hour! 1448 code and #53 fuse 15 amp
Thanks for the video. Really helpful. So I guess there's no fan filter that I have to change? I know a lot of hybrids have a battery fan filter that needs to be changed regularly.
I'm finding VDO is the brand mostly available, has anyone had any luck with this brand? Also I plan on keeping the OEM one I remove, does anyone know if there is someone who refurbishes these in the US?
@@violetv4412 I was going 60ish. I did not try for a top speed but that was about it. Very sluggish, not a safe way to drive. I drove it home and fixed it.
@@inmygarage_kenm ouch! Is that 60 miles per hour? How much did it cost for you to repair it and what exactly was the problem? What was the mileage on the vehicule when you started getting battery problems?
My fan got really loud the other day. It just sounds like a normal fan on full blast. Drove around for a couple days and it finally stopped. Any idea why?
Don't really know but a change in airflow will result in a change of sound. The fan's intake or exhaust could have been restrict by something. That or your fan is getting ready to quit on you.
When you say it had been growling, what did that sound like? I sometimes hear something going on back there, but just sounds like the fan kicking on from time to time. Thanks for sharing!
New you could not hear it at all, then I could hear it kick on and it would sound like it was working hard or had bearing wear. A light growling is the best way I can describe it.
@@Smashmilk the fan should be virtually silent. Any noise while running indicates pending failure. It may be a week or months. Pick up a fan and fuse ahead of time and it will be a quick fix.
@@inmygarage_kenm I'm not sure it's the fan but sometimes when I'm driving hard or run the ac there's some rattling coming from the back and the hatch isn't loose . I'm not to mechanically in clined I can change the oil and spark plugs ans that's about it

My CRZ got this code while on a road trip several hours from home. This video helped immensely in getting it back on the road. Thanks so much!
Your welcome. It is a issue all CRZ owners will have eventually.

Anyone know if this is the same location for Civic 2012?
Hi
Can the 2011 model still be driven as a regular gas car if the hybrid system ( battery, ima system..etc...) no longer works?
I can only answer for my 2012. It continued to run but was very underpowered. I would not have been comfortable to continue to drive it that way.

Rock auto I believe.

Great video, wondering how much it costs?(new fan motor) thank you 👍🏼
easy to look-up. about 150
@@inmygarage_kenm thanks 👍🏼
What type of diagnostic tester did you use?
Sorry Leo, I really don't know. It was whatever the auto parts store had as a loner. I checked the codes right in the parking lot.
@@inmygarage_kenm thanks man!
Wtf Honda charged me $400 for labor
Sorry to here but thats how they pay their employees/insurances and keep the business going. Hopefully the video helps others.
