My first quilt pattern!!! I made this in 1991 for my first baby. Now I'm making one for my first granddaughter ❤️ Thank you for the inspiration and creativity of the last 30 years!!
Patti's quilt is just stunning in it's colours Eleanor and so beautiful in this bargello pattern. This would be my quilt if only i had a quilt shop here in central Scotland, as i have to order online and it's just not the same as being able to see them in person. Your beautiful waterlily quilt is gorgeous as well and with the lilies layered on top just make it look so real. Thank you both Patti and Eleanor for your gorgeous quilt patterns.
I love how you make quilting seem so exciting :-) !!!! I wish i had enough time to make all of my favourite tutorials as quick as you load up these videos. It is so wonderful to see all of the color variations that everyone has in the quilts. It's amazing how changing the colors and prints can make the same pattern look so different.
This is so good to go along with the book you wrote on these projects! I have made a rainbow quilt like this for my Grandson that is so cute! I used Yellow and a scalloped border to edge it- again based on your teaching. Thank you!!
Just for the sake of clarity: salvage is what is done to a ship when it is no longer sea worthy, the re-usable components are salvaged. Selvedge is the edge of woven fabric where the fibers were turned around at the edge of the loom.
I have been looking at your quilt show video in which you spoke of your hand quilter Arlene. You also showed an airplane quilt. In 1984, I saw a puc in a magazine of this block, no pattern, so I drew it out and being a beginning quilter, I hand pieced the nises as I didn't know how to make the block. My son is turning 38 and still has it. Fabric wS difficult to obtain in my isolated community, so it wS made of polyester in primary colors, the quilting was the shape of the plane and a helicopter from a book my sister sent my son from England.
Your tutorials are fantastic. Could you please inform me as to how I can order the pattern and where I can get the materials you use to make these. I am so excited to try your methods.
She has an online store that you can order her books, fabrics, etc. from. The following link is directly to the book for this quilt. www.quiltinaday.com/shoponline/book/5137
I have NEVER quilted. About 5 years ago I first saw this video on PBS and decided when life calmed down THIS would be my 1st quilt. Since then, I've collected 1/4 yard pieces of fabric specifically to make a QUEEN SIZE VERSION OF THIS MONET QUILT only I think I have around 20 pieces, each 1/4 yard. QUESTION: I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AFTER THE FIRST 4 ROWS OR PLEASE HOW DO I MAKE IT QUEEN SIZE??? ANY HELP IS MORE THAN WELCOME!!!
Been watching you for years & you've made a stripper out if me!! Thank you! Fell in love with the lilies quilt & will be attempting a version for my daughter who loves Monet. The fabrics have proven harder to find than I thought...but sometimes the hunt is half the fun :) Keep them coming!
