I’ve been so happy to see that you’ve chosen to keep sharing your experiences with us! Thanks for not giving into the negativity. You two are awesome! 👏👍🙏
Applewood has always been a breakfast favorite for us and still is. We do enjoy your videos very much. Nobody and I do mean nobody does a restaurant review as good as you two. Thanks for all you do and keep it up.
One of the great things about the two of you…you’re not afraid to sit right there inside the restaurant at the table and offer your heartfelt opinions. You don’t high-tail it back to the car to say what you think!
We don’t like the look of that. Not our thing. We also aren’t afraid to share our opinion with the restaurant either. We aren’t professional food critics but we do have a pretty decent palette and want to offer up our true thoughts for whatever it’s worth. lol. Chad we appreciate your support and your thoughts. Hope to see you in the Smokies soon!
@@SmokyMtFaithFoodFun Your food reviews play out much like what a professional food reviewer would put in a written blog post. You both have a natural way of describing the flavors of what you taste, something not everyone can do. Discussing the background of the venue adds further credibility. And pro reviewers give their opinions inside the restaurant. However, I can understand maybe going outside if the place is slammed and they need the table. Great job as always!
"the relish was rough"🤣😂 me and my husband were laughing about that so hard! This was the nicest "bad" review ever. U guys are great. We absolutely love ur opinion cuz we don't really care for the food either❤ u weren't mean at all. Just honest.. that's an art to be honest without being mean..❤ good job guys! Great review. Shalom 🙂
Thanks so much guys! It was ok but not great. The rough relish had us laughing too. When Brooks said that the look on his face was priceless. 🤣. Shalom to you friends
First time watching your videos. I have heard about the negative comments made about you two. I just need to say that I enjoyed your video and the negative comments helped me find your channel. I really love your honesty. I will continue to watch your channel.❤

Definitely honest review. Being from Florida I am the tourist. lol. Apple Barn in my opinion used to be a lot better. Last October my sisters and I had a horrible experience. Raw fritters. Bland chicken pot pie as well. No to go boxes. Left everything. Thanks to y’all my husband and I have a lot of new restaurants to try when we visit again the end of June. God Bless
I could never eat there i don't eat salt i love dumplings and fried okra and fried chicken but don't use salt glad to see you guys God bless and keep you safe
We almost always go to the original Farmhouse Restaurant, although we have been to the grill, and we prefer the original restaurant. Their breakfast is one of our favorites in town. I think maybe the dinner menu could use a little tweaking, but the original restaurant is still one of our favorites in the area! Great honest restaurant review!
Thanks for the review guys. I agree 100%. As tourists, we definitely visited the Applewood facilities based on reviews and the hype. After eating there once on our two visits to the area, the wife and I had already decided that we would not return. The food does not live up to the hype especially given the price. I would rather spend my money on a new eating adventure or perhaps even fast food. Not trying to be negative and I will say the food is NOT bad, but I could never go again to the Applewood facility and be happy. Thanks for the honesty.
Guys that’s our thoughts to be sure. We don’t want others to waste money when vacation time is precious and money is too. Others may have a different opinion and that’s ok. But we are on the same page for sure. Thank you guys for watching and your support 😊
I was thinking that if I ever would get the pleasure to go visit the area, my first choice would be this establishment. I am now pondering that this is not number one. I enjoyed the history of this place but does make you think about being the oldest. (?) I value your opinion and review. I could tell that Brooks was at a loss for words after he tasted the relish, that’s not Brooks! lol.. I also thought the chicken pieces were small. I like any kind of dough! We love the breakfast there but at the old farmhouse( one towards the back) the bananas foster pancakes are awesome)…. Not the grill. We also tried lunch there and we didn’t care for it. We enjoy your channel!
I'm sorry that your experience wasn't as good as you hoped it would be but I appreciate you two still sharing it. Im sure it will help someone. It helps us because if something is too salty it lets us know that it may not be a good option for us since my husband has high blood pressure and too much salt is not good for it. I hope you guys continue to do your reviews even if they aren't always fork twirl worthy. The restaurants at the apple barn might be good for tourists but I'm glad locals reviewed it too. I look forward to seeing your next video. I would love to see you guys review the brunch at the pottery house restaurant. We absolutely love the restaurant for lunch or dinner. I've looked at the brunch menu but I've never seen anyone review it. I love your food reviews the most out of every channel I watch and I think a review of their brunch would be a fun day date for you two and would help people too. I can't wait to see what's next.
Appreciate your honesty in the reviews. We ate there several years ago. Haven't eaten there lately. We enjoy buying the Apple Hand Pies at The Apple Barn. 🍎 😊
I agree, the food doesn't look all that it should be.I see several people said it's a good breakfast place.Love you both and your channel.Have a blessed day

Your reviews are always just wonderful because of your honesty. Applewood is NOT our favorite place to eat in the Smokies (we have only done lunch or dinner).........so interesting to know we are not alone in that. God bless you.

My husband and I have eaten here for years. We ate there last summer and we were disappointed. We felt the quality had decreased. I had my sister with me and she had never eaten there. She agreed the food was just ok. The fritters were great. I liked the julep but I love pineapple juice. I also had the potato soup I don’t remember it being too salty. Thanks for the honest review.
I watch all your videos and yankee in the south. You guys all give so much good feedback and many good ideas. I really appreciate this review in particular cause you guys came out of your comfort zone and said what’s to like but also what’s not to like. And whether it’s a personal thing or something that a whole group wouldn’t care for. Keep up the content! Love it! I hope we run into you guys when we come to sevierville, PF and gatlinburg late June into early July! 😊
I have been coming to Gatlinburg and pigeon Forge since serveirville and Pigeon Forge was just a pass thru to get to Gatlinburg and I have never even heard on The aApplebarn until the last few years. The biggest draw in Pigeon Forge used to be Hill Billy Village which I am sorry to say they have torn down now.
Thank you for the very honest review! We also agree with your review. It’s a fantastic place for the apple butter and apple fritters… beyond that walking around and the bakery. The restaurant is not the best.
We used to go to the Apple Barn years ago and got away from it... was not our favorite, but maybe will try it again sometime when we go back.... Love your Grammy shirt.... how is your handsome grandson doing and Emily and Nathan????
My Wife and I agree with you both on the food we have ate there before and there are much better options in the area that we prefer. Thanks for all your videos !!
Strange Guys, We have never been to the Grill, but the other Applewood has always been good every time we have been there. We even stop by and bring quart jars and get just the veg. soup. You can get it hot or cold. We will be at the Little Arrow Campground in Townsend in June, maybe you guys could drop by. God Bless, Tony & Jeannie
We love the fritters and apple butter but the food at the grill was average. We do plan to have breakfast at the original farmhouse soon. God bless you both!
Apple Barn is always our first stop when we head to Gatlinburg. The julep, the Apple fritters and butter are amazing. Do they have outdoor dining? We have our little chihuahua that goes everywhere with us.
hiya from Maine, thanks for honest review , wife and I are headed down there next week ( for 9 days )for some R an R. going to go to the Riseup-con a Christian Event at the convention center. I was thinking about suggesting the applewood grill to my better half but based on your reviews, will pass so thank you for that . I have to catch up on some of your videos though , saw that you just did a review at the applewood restaurant as well so im going to watch that one as well. We really enjoy all your videos glad to see that you have chosen to continue with your channel and Adventures. they are a big help to use when we go down there . Please try their breakfast at the old farmhouse!!!!!We think the AppleBarn old farmhouse has the BEST breakfast in Pigeon Forge! We also LOVE their vegetable soup! ❤
I (Cindy) love the apple fritters and Julep there. David enjoys the fritters at the Old Mill better. We had a good experience for dinner there but our breakfast experience was not as good. Thanks for sharing your honest opinion.
Really appreciate the honest review, you both were very diplomatic and I really liked that. The shops look great but the pot pie and chicken and dumplings did look bland. Looking forward to more. Maybe check the place out for breakfast, since many said breakfast is good. Thanks Geo
I’ve always thought that the food at the Applewood restaurant was “mid” at best. I’ve never understood the draw of the place. Thanks for another great video!!
I love your history lessons! We need to step up our game ;) We have eaten at the restaurant, but not the grill. The fritters are delicious! I’m not a chicken pot pie lover, so I give that a hard pass … lol I love some chicken and dumplings. I did a video of my version. We love them 😊 I must say Brook’s meal looks amazing! So happy y’all are back.
I knew when a viewer named Catherine asked if you had done an Applewood review yet, and your response was simply "Nope", that this place already had two strikes and a fastball coming! Lol. We've been several times over the years and for the most part the food was good. I've had the pork chop before and I liked the pork chop but hated the apple crap on top, just like Brooks did. Lol. I just didn't see the point in the apple topping. Love you guys and love the reviews.
Great review i have always enjoyed the Apple stack cake too, the grill is not one of my favorites. And is it me or is the birds not working in a restaurant 😳
ok so for now i got a mega placement, 3 months with possibility for a longer time or a permanent placement, and when i find out the day of start, i might drive down, i want to take you and christy out for a meal. let me see. i would love to just come down there and wander around, is it happening, dont know.
We sure would love to have you zero if you are able. Just let us know and we will make the time. If not we understand. We sure hope you are doing well. We love you and appreciate you
Thanks for the review. We didnt know about the oldest restaurant issue. Did they mean the oldest farm ? i agree they should set that straight. I love the gift shops the applebutter and the beautiful setting of the place. We always get the same thing and usually we're there for supper a the FarmHouse. They used to bring 2 sides before the meal, I'd get wedge salad, broccoli cheese soup then chicken and Dumplings also green beans and mashed potatoes. Then they brought apple fritters and apple butter and the apple julep. I agree the apple julep tasted like pineapple orange juice. Apple cider would be better. My husband gets the pork chops but doesn't like the chopped apple relish ,he rakes it off,but loved the chops they were bigger and super tender. Brooks didn't look like that at all. His chop looked thin and smaller..I think after all the places you've tried and we've tried over the years its just different. Its just a basic homecooked meal. Its not the Cherokee or LeConte Tapas or Park Grill, Local Goat. We only get there twice a year and we love the Smokeys so much, it's more about old familiar places. The setting is so pretty and it looks like a place you want to sit on the porch in a rocker and just relax. So part of it,is about the destination. So many things have changed over the years since we've been coming Its nice that a few places are still there. Its like my comfy old gray sweater that I've had forever. Lol So ,I think we give the food a pass. I do respect your opinion. I would be a horrble food reviewer. Lol I would be like, oh maybe the chef is new or maybe he's having a bad day. Etc... 😳🤣 Love you guys❤😊
We completely understand the familiarity issue. It is a place of nostalgia that people love and we love the shops. We just aren’t big on the food. lol. We are gonna try the farmhouse for breakfast soon. Hopefully that will have some redeeming quality 😊. We love you and Ed too!
I do agree with you. I think it’s more the name that draws people. People will pay a higher price just to go to places. (I think it’s over priced) The food is good but not the best.We know how country food is supposed to taste don’t we? Thank you both for being so honest. Some people say it was delicious but it really wasn’t so I thank you for your honesty.
This was my mother’s favorite restaurant for breakfast and dinner to take her grandsons back in late eighties, sitting outside watching the horses and rocking , that was included in our vacation get aways a few times a year ,than we travel on to Florida for second week , and coming back through smokies so we could eat breakfast there before returning home , some times we would take a drive for the day an get to Lexington Ky which was a half way point ,4 hours back home or 4 hours to Pigeon Forge and I say mother we are 4 hours either way , she say just drive on honey and we will just spend weekend in pigeon forge , we will stop buy toothpaste, toothbrushes , hairspray brushes ,combs etc at Walmart , and go to outlet store for children’s clothes for the two boys , jackets if need an couple toys an water toys etc at the outlet stores , we get couple changeable outfits , get hotel with heated swimming pool and have a time , my sons still remember, now one son ends up down there at least fourteen times a year , with his young children, he calls me and says I’m home now , and he takes children to apple wood every time for breakfast and making memories all over , such a nice place to eat . The beauty will never change .
I always took the "oldest restaurant in Sevierville" claim to mean the oldest STILL OPERATING restaurant. I went once when I was around 11 or 12 and I didn't care for it then and my wife and I went the day of our wedding down there in November for breakfast and we weren't impressed either. We go to the Apple Barn every visit and that's the draw for us, not the restaurants.
That was our take but management wouldn’t say it like that. It was a weird thing for us. The shops are for sure the best part. Thank you guys for watching!
Try the actual farmhouse next time. Breakfast is always good there but it’s a hit or miss with me on the lunch/dinner. Too many other better options available around. But we’ve eaten at the grill 3x and definitely prefer the Farmhouse over the grill, for breakfast anyway
Reds has reopened as of this year. To us oldest means you were in business before any other eating establishment...ie. first. Just seems a bit deceiving. Brooks is from this area and knows there were other restaurants in operation in Sevierville in 1987.
@SmokyMtFaithFoodFun reds soda fountain "reopened" this year not reds Cafe and going out of business for 40plus years and reopen with different name and owners doesn't seem like the same thing to me, just my opinion obviously. No one said there weren't other restaurants before that in sevierville, but it seems like none were open continuously? As in, they have closed and sold out changed names or owners etc.? Is there a reds Cafe from the same owners that reopened? Would love a review on that!
A rare negative review… Gotta do it sometimes if you’re going to be genuine and do your job honestly. Hopefully the right people take the criticism and use it to make things better there. That benefits everyone!
Looking from the outside I though the Julep was named as Applewood Julep - after the place, so wouldn't expect it to taste of apple. But then I suppose I am not American and have never had a Julep 😆
Are they hiring? Maybe you should apply for jobs there and help them get better at what they do. That would be a very interesting video. I personally know of a server at another restaurant who committed suicide because they couldn't make enough money to make their rent. Think about that, please. Everybody is trying hard right now. Maybe think about how many paychecks you might affect...
Rosie we own our own business and we understand how many paychecks might be affected but we also believe in being honest with the review. If we aren’t what’s the point of doing it. ❤️
The food has definitely gone down hill over the years. Tou no longer get rolls and the apple salad is gone. It is still ok but it is not special anymore.
Brooks, just because she doesn't like her food doesn't mean you do not have to dislike yours. She shouldn't interrupt your review either. 🙄 A bit overbearing.....
Brooks can answer for himself but he truly did dislike the portions of his meal he talked about. I have zero influence over his taste buds or opinions. As far as my "interrupting" as you call it...we call that "banter" and the large majority of our viewers love that about us. We are real. Thanks for watching.
In all honesty the relish or what they call relish on the pork chop and the pork chop overall was terrible. Christy and I interrupt each other a lot. We finish each others sentences all the time. When we don’t we just banter back and forth. It’s just what we do 😊 - Brooks

We appreciate you watching! We just want to be as candid as we can and we hope it helps you all
I have been coming to Gatlinburg and pigeon Forge since serveirville and Pigeon Forge was just a pass thru to get to Gatlinburg and I have never even heard on The aApplebarn until the last few years. The biggest draw in Pigeon Forge used to be Hill Billy Village which I am sorry to say they have torn down now.
Always loved Hillbilly Village! You are correct that both just used to be a pass through.
You guys are some of my favorites for the Gatlinburg and pigeon forge area
I wanna see you guys do some moonshine tastings though
We don’t really do tastings. We kinda already have our favorites. 😊. We appreciate the kind words so much ❤️
Thank you for the very honest review! We also agree with your review. It’s a fantastic place for the apple butter and apple fritters… beyond that walking around and the bakery. The restaurant is not the best.
Mary that is our thoughts exactly
I like the drop dumplings also. If I wanted flat dumplings, I’d order chicken noodle soup. Thanks for the great review!! ❤
Mary that’s about right. Lol
We used to go to the Apple Barn years ago and got away from it... was not our favorite, but maybe will try it again sometime when we go back.... Love your Grammy shirt.... how is your handsome grandson doing and Emily and Nathan????
Lisa he is growing so fast! Thank you. I love that shirt. Yeah the food was just average.
We go there every year for our Thanksgiving dinner and love it. The breakfast is amazing as well. To each their own. ❤
We are planning to go back to the actual farmhouse and do breakfast. 😊
I’ve seen other reviews that are very similar to your review. I’ll pass on the farm house but will continue to enjoy the shops.
Debra that’s our thing. Eat elsewhere but enjoy the Apple Barn itself
This is a must on our trip there ! Great food,& wonderful service !
We are planning the actual farmhouse for breakfast. Hope that goes better
Hey guys! Like an honest review 😊. Looking forward to more videos ❤
Thank you so much 😁 it’s our review. It is what it is 😊
My Wife and I agree with you both on the food we have ate there before and there are much better options in the area that we prefer. Thanks for all your videos !!
Duane you are welcome! Just not our place to eat for sure
They don’t at the Grill. We are not sure about the actual farmhouse but they do have takeout 😊
Completely agree with your review. It’s been pretty hit-or- miss for us; it’s the atmosphere that’s cool.
Lyle that’s exactly our take
hiya from Maine, thanks for honest review , wife and I are headed down there next week ( for 9 days )for some R an R. going to go to the Riseup-con a Christian Event at the convention center. This will be our Second time down there and would like to try different places to eat as well as different things to do. We appropriate what you guys do and thank you again, God Bless
Dave thank you and God bless you! We hope you have a safe and a really fun trip! We appreciate your kind words and will keep doing our best to bring you good stuff
@@SmokyMtFaithFoodFun oh hi , ya your welcome no problem ,thank you we hope to should have a fun time. maybe we will cross Paths in our travels down there.
Awesome blog, hope to catch sometime while in pigeon forge this week and say hi !❤️😸
Geo we would love it! Get in touch with us. Ramseykneemail@gmail.com
Please try their breakfast at the old farmhouse!!!!!We think the AppleBarn old farmhouse has the BEST breakfast in Pigeon Forge! We also LOVE their vegetable soup! ❤
We are planning to go do that soon. 😊
I (Cindy) love the apple fritters and Julep there. David enjoys the fritters at the Old Mill better. We had a good experience for dinner there but our breakfast experience was not as good. Thanks for sharing your honest opinion.
Absolutely guys! Thank you for watching! We appreciate it! Happy Mothers Day Cindy!
An honest review is always appreciated!
Thank you for that. They can’t all be gems 😊
Really appreciate the honest review, you both were very diplomatic and I really liked that. The shops look great but the pot pie and chicken and dumplings did look bland.
Looking forward to more.
Maybe check the place out for breakfast, since many said breakfast is good.
Thanks
Geo
George funny story. We are going to try the actual farmhouse for breakfast soon. Hoping to redeem the Apple Barn. Lol
I’ve always thought that the food at the Applewood restaurant was “mid” at best. I’ve never understood the draw of the place. Thanks for another great video!!
Mid is pretty much our take on it too. Thanks for watching! The draw is the shops. We enjoy them. It’s just not the place to eat
I enjoy your food review videos! Thanks for all yall do!
Donnie we appreciate you watching!
Do you have a video of Ft Worth Steakhouse on the Parkway next door to Olive Garden?
Larry we haven’t done that yet. Our friends Steve and Veronica kibler recently did that.
Breakfast was great last week there. I tried the country fried steak last year and it was really good.
We are planning to go back for breakfast soon to the actual farmhouse 😊
I love your history lessons! We need to step up our game ;)
We have eaten at the restaurant, but not the grill. The fritters are delicious!
I’m not a chicken pot pie lover, so I give that a hard pass … lol
I love some chicken and dumplings. I did a video of my version. We love them 😊
I must say Brook’s meal looks amazing!
So happy y’all are back.
We appreciate you guys so much! Thank you for your support. The history lessons are fun for us.
Ed lol. Yeah it’s just not our place. Others may feel different but it’s just not for us. We love you guys too!
Great review i have always enjoyed the Apple stack cake too, the grill is not one of my favorites. And is it me or is the birds not working in a restaurant 😳
We like the birds ok but it can seem a little weird. Mark we appreciate you!
ok so for now i got a mega placement, 3 months with possibility for a longer time or a permanent placement, and when i find out the day of start, i might drive down, i want to take you and christy out for a meal. let me see. i would love to just come down there and wander around, is it happening, dont know.
Those mash potatoes are calling my name, they look so yummy! ❤
They were excellent!
K hope that we rum into you and your wife next week because we will be In Gatlinburg next week. Keep the reviews coming
Priscilla if you see us, say hello! We will keep them coming! Have a safe trip coming in!
The food looks so good! Thanks guys.
Robin thanks for watching!
Did you spend your life in prison?
Never been to prison. Did you spend your life there?
I love your honesty
Marilyn thank you so much
Agree with your review!
Rich and Jen it just was disappointing. 🥹
Sorry I missed the live…hope you’re well!!
Heath we are doing well. We hope you are as well!
@@SmokyMtFaithFoodFun Doin great! 😊
Ann thank you. Yeah it was just average. We hope to have good reviews coming up 😊
This was my mother’s favorite restaurant for breakfast and dinner to take her grandsons back in late eighties, sitting outside watching the horses and rocking , that was included in our vacation get aways a few times a year ,than we travel on to Florida for second week , and coming back through smokies so we could eat breakfast there before returning home , some times we would take a drive for the day an get to Lexington Ky which was a half way point ,4 hours back home or 4 hours to Pigeon Forge and I say mother we are 4 hours either way , she say just drive on honey and we will just spend weekend in pigeon forge , we will stop buy toothpaste, toothbrushes , hairspray brushes ,combs etc at Walmart , and go to outlet store for children’s clothes for the two boys , jackets if need an couple toys an water toys etc
at the outlet stores , we get couple changeable outfits , get hotel with heated swimming pool and have a time , my sons still remember, now one son ends up down there at least fourteen times a year , with his young children, he calls me and says I’m home now , and he takes children to apple wood every time for breakfast and making memories all over , such a nice place to eat . The beauty will never change .
Thank you so much for sharing that. We do understand that it has become a tradition for so many. We love the shops.
Great job on the review..
Brenda thank you so much and thank you for watching
Thar great place to eat hope have great week.
Michael you have a great week too 😊
I always took the "oldest restaurant in Sevierville" claim to mean the oldest STILL OPERATING restaurant.
@@SmokyMtFaithFoodFun Well of course not. That doesn't sound nearly as impressive...much like their food.
Keep it up Love your reviews
Thank you so much! We appreciate it
I would like to try the breakfast. Dinner was overrated in my opinion. I love the cider, pancake mix, and fresh baked bread.
They have great things in the shops. We plan on going back for breakfast soon. Hopefully it’s better
@SmokyMtFaithFoodFun apple fritters were really good too!
With Biden economics you should ave explained the split plate as a way to save money.
That is funny stuff! Those plates were tacky to us. Not a farmhouse or even grill feel
I want other reviews of the same places but everyone orders different luv yours interesting
Watch
Stephenie thank you! We try to be unique when we order 😊
Try the actual farmhouse next time. Breakfast is always good there but it’s a hit or miss with me on the lunch/dinner. Too many other better options available around. But we’ve eaten at the grill 3x and definitely prefer the Farmhouse over the grill, for breakfast anyway
Rick and Annette that is definitely our plan. To try the actual farmhouse for breakfast soon. 😊
Enjoy
good .. but average food...when there's too much on the menu...something gives...take care
Average is a good way to say it Susan for sure.
Is red's still in business? I'm seeing they went out of business in the 70's which would explain the oldest claim as they aren't in business anymore?
Not with the same owners. But the new soda fountain we do have a review on it. Fantastic 😊
GOOD EVENING
Good evening Mark!
A rare negative review… Gotta do it sometimes if you’re going to be genuine and do your job honestly. Hopefully the right people take the criticism and use it to make things better there. That benefits everyone!
Mike thank you for saying that. It’s true. Not every review is gonna be a home run. 😊
Looking from the outside I though the Julep was named as Applewood Julep - after the place, so wouldn't expect it to taste of apple. But then I suppose I am not American and have never had a Julep 😆
lol we just want apple at an apple place 🤣
@@SmokyMtFaithFoodFun 🍎🍏 It does seem strange they don't just serve apple juice 😆
We've never been to this restaurant, but Brooke's meal looked very unappetizing. I would have sent it back.
It was very unappetizing.
We've eaten at the Grill and the restaurant, the restaurant is definitely better.
Rita you are right! The restaurant is far better
He eats pork chops mid rare? All pork products are only safe to eat when cooked all the way. You risk trichinosis ( round worm infection).
He sure does eat it mid rare. It depends on the cut of pork. 😊
The food has definitely gone down hill over the years. Tou no longer get rolls and the apple salad is gone. It is still ok but it is not special anymore.
Steve it has declined. Gonna have to try the actual farmhouse for breakfast.
First time I have seen your videos, really concerned about your health and weight. I know food is delicious but not always good for the bodies God created.
We appreciate the concern. There is more than meets the eye and we understand. Notice you don’t see us eating everything we order on camera. You only see what you see 😊. God bless you and thank you for watching
Not appealing looking food
It really wasn’t. It was really hit and miss
