Team chewy here! If you love bacon, and who doesn't? Try this: take a cookie sheet, line it with foil. Take a cooling rack, place it on the cookie sheet. Lay some bacon on the rack, sprinkle some brown sugar and a pinch of cayenne pepper on the bacon and bake at 400 till desired doneness! Delicious!!!
I make this on toast for myself for breakfast alot. I had no idea it was an Elvis favorite. I knew he liked peanut butter and banana sandwiches...my dad used to eat peanut butter and jelly and bacon sandwiches all the time too. I just thought it was a family thing! Lol
We must be in the same family cause I thought my Dad created PBJB sandwiches when I was growing up. And other kids thought I was nuts when I talked about them! Guess our families just knew how to eat.
Why wouldn't Elvis love this sandwich? His PB&B sandwich was traditionally fried in bacon fat so it's kinda along the same vein. I even picture Elvis when I hear these combination of ingredients, I only wonder why his in house chef couldn't make this as well. Kinda weird he had to fly to Colorado to have one.
I feel like the reason Elvis ate a lot was because when he was addicted to all those pills like benzos and pain killers they would increase your appetite... my dad used to be prescribed Xanax for his anxiety and would constantly eat and he gained a lot of weight when he was on his medication..
I made a peanut butter jelly version of a grilled cheese sandwhich one morning when I was a bit hung over. It was a giant mess. But HOTDAWG it was good.
Thank you for dropping a video, even on a holiday. I'm spending this year alone and having an Emmy video to watch really makes it a little less sad and lonely.
this is traditionally made with a hallowed loaf, more like a hot-pocket or falafel then a traditional sandwich. the OG used whole standard sized jars and a full pound of bacon, but other variants either use a much smaller jar of PB&J, a combo PB&J and only about half a pound of bacon (uncooked weight).

When I was a kid till my college years, my dad would make this sandwich on movie night or during the weekends with a pitcherful of ice-cold milk to wash it down. He'd mix up the jam every now and then (sometimes guava, other times strawberry, grape, blueberry or pineapple) and add Milo powder, deep-fried bananas, French fries, potato chips, melted butter, cheese spread or quickmelt cheddar cheese.
I have an Elvis Presley cook book and in this it suggests you get a square loaf, cut one end off and scoop out the dough. You then later bacon, jelly and peanut butter. Replace the end, wrap in foil and bake.
The "Elvis sandwich" story I heard was to get a bread loaf and gut out a lot of the crumb. Line the hole with cooked bacon, bananas sliced lengthwise, and peanut butter. Bung this on a tray and put it into the oven until the bread is toasted- possibly brushed with butter on the outside first. Elvis would apparently eat an entire one himself.
Back in the early days of my marriage we had lots of bacon but had ran out of tomatoes. I decided to have a peanut butter and bacon sandwich. My husband asked what I was making and I told him and he thought I was joking. He didn’t believe that my family ate them every time we had extra bacon. So he called my brother to call me on it and he described perfectly how to make the sandwich, lightly toasted bread and thin layer of pb on each slice then all the bacon you want. Now he eats them with me when I accidentally on purpose make too much bacon.
Okay, I was always given to understand that Elvis liked the bread roll, loaf, baguette brushed with a nice olive oil top and bottom before you crisp the bread in a hot oven. I tried this and it really does make the Elvis sandwich a legend.

I always remember something about Elvis craving peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Seems he always went for the PB, and I can't say I blame him. It's one of my favorite condiments too. As far as PB and pregnancy cravings, I also associate peanut butter with energy and protein. And when you're essentially eating for two, it only makes sense to get that boost of energy and protein. My own PB cravings have to do with those nutritional aspects. One of my energy snacks of choice is PB on toast. I'll get a nice thick layer on there, too, and all the better if it's chunky and/or blended with honey. Just good power food. Anyway, great sandwich. I would easily look to take one on sometime.
Michael, would you please care to share what a woman IS apparently supposed to do with her body? Of course "eating for two" is not a literal thing and I'm not being literal about it either. Not trying to start anything myself either but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna question the intentions of someone who's already incited an angry reply, likely for the bit about getting fat. Generally, you don't dare use pregnancy, which is a beautiful thing, and getting fat in the same context. So just to clarify here, eating for two is not a literal thing. End of story. Move on.

This would be a great finger food for someone to bring to a gathering. Just cut it into pieces, and instant snack! The only pricey ingredient right now is the bacon 🥓..
30 sandwiches = 120 pounds. That is crazy. Elvis loved the restaurant in Caryville Tennessee at the Cove Lake State park. It is said this was his favorite place to go eat. They would make him a similar sandwich. Peanut butter, jelly, banana; bacon 🥓 on sandwich bread grilled in butter.
I heard about this Sandwich maybe 30 years ago when I was watching a documentary film about Elvis Presley in my childhood. If I remember it correctly 1 Sandwich had 50 000 calories😳 is that even possible?🤔
My favorite sandwich is bacon, cream cheese & grape jelly so this sounds right up my alley. I would definitely try this but probably with smaller bread.
Did you know that Skippy peanut butter is named for the comic strip character Skippy? The character was a mischievous little boy with a faithful dog and it was the favorite childhood comic strip of Charles Schulz.
I used to work right down the street from Nicks and let me tell you that place is littered with Elvis stuff all over the walls. He loves to talk about how he catered to the King back in the day. Decent food there. Kinda happy he and his establishment made it into a book.
A rough calculation doing the math. Being conservative around 6,805 calories in a single sandwich. A single one of those would be considerably more than 99% of people need to get through a day. Worst most of the calories come from fat and carbohydrates with a low overall protein content.
To start with, a massive happy thanksgiving Emmy and family, plus to all my American peoples out there, I hope you all have a fantastic thanksgiving, I'm Australian and we don't celebrate thanksgiving here, I don't know if I'd make that sandwich Emmy, its only my wife and I, awesome video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘🦘
I am so happy to be watching this while making my chicken wings for wing night. I seriously almost forgot to line my baking tray with foil. Thanks Emmy!
"The Loaf" was made by Colorado Mining Co. And they hollowed out an entire loaf of bread and filled it with an entire jar of both peanut butter and jelly and a pound of bacon.
I remember seeing this infamous sandwich being made in Elvis's favourite diner as part of an early U.K. 90s documentary about the King. The iconic American PB&J was still seen as kinda weird in Britain at the time, and the addition of a whole lb of bacon seemed downright bizarre. In retrospect, it actually looks not bad. I doubt I could eat the whole thing mind you.
Ohhh Emmy, lucky you! When I was pregnant with my daughter, I craved strawberry tarts, that was in 1974 and I'm in the U.K., freezers weren't the the "thing" they are now, and I could only get strawberry tarts in the bakers!! I had to make do with canned strawberries if I got the craving at night!!
My personal favorite Elvis-related sandwich is the toasted peanut butter, banana, and bacon. My version of it is a one-pan affair (cook bacon in frying pan, peanut butter on both slices of sandwich bread, bacon and sliced banana between, toast in bacon grease). It's definitely easier to eat than this delicious-looking monstrosity!
This actually looks so good. We celebrate Thanksgiving but I haven't the past a 11 yrs my mom passed away nov 30th and she loved Thanksgiving so its too hard for me to
I made this a few years ago after watching What If. There was more than enough to feed myself, my boyfriend, his roommate, and the roommate's girlfriend, but we ate every bite. It was so good.
Another thing, live in England but was born to British parents while they lived in Canada so have found memories of p.b.& j. Several years ago, must have been at least 30, my Dad was having his usual Marmite on toast for breakfast but he had a brain wave, on buttered toast he added Marmite very thinly spread he then added peanut butter, it gave the peanut butter a savoriness that he found went so well together, I loved it and so did my kids. If any of you who like Marmite want to try it just remember the Marmite needs to be spread sparingly on buttered toast or I do it the other way round, peanut butter first then the marmite.
Normally I would be thinking that this sandwich looks unique and I might need to try it, but since I just finished eating a rather large Thanksgiving dinner all I hear is my stomach asking me why in the world are you EVEN WATCHING food right now lol. Happy Thanksgiving Emmy and thank you for another wonderful video, much love to you and your family💞❣
I don't know about that sandwich, but I do know for sure that Elvis' FAVORITE sandwich was the Fried Peanut butter and Banana sandwich (fried in butter). They give out samples of this sandwich at Graceland. Happy Thanksgiving Emmy.
he ate them with Banana's not Jelly , i watched an interview they did with his maid , she said he was crazy about those Fried Peanut Butter and Bacon Sandwhiches , also they were skillet fried in Lard.
This sandwich sounds good, except I wouldn't eat the whole thing for sure lol. Nothing to do with calories, i just get full/nauseous easily. But damn does it sound good.
I love bacon and jelly biscuits for breakfast! Sausage and jelly is good too. Before we started working from home due to Covid, a lot of times I got breakfast on my way to work. I love breakfast food. Sometimes I didn’t want egg. I would get either a sausage biscuit or a bacon biscuit and ask for a couple packets of jelly. So good
This was never elvis's sandwich. The fools gold sandwich(jar of jam, jar of peanut butter, pound of bacon in a hollowed out French loaf) was developed by a Colorado mining company after elvis died. The elvis sandwich is Peanut butter, bacon and fried bananas on soft white bread. I make it with plantains because I'm allergic to bananas. It's delicious
I just keep imagining Elvis saying "boy, I do love me this here sandwich", with his lip slightly upturned, his eyes a bit glazed from the prescription meds he was hooked on, and with his Nudie suit shining with rhinestones and reflecting off his matching sunglasses. his arteries were not happy.

My mom used to eat peanut butter and jelly with bologna and pickles on toast all the time. It tasted exactly how you'd think: downright awful. Then she got older and they started giving her heartburn lol. They gave me heartburn when I was 10 😂
Happy Thanksgiving Emmy! What I love about your videos I'd that you don't take a teensy bite of the recipe, you dig in! And the little yummy noises you make sound so heartfelt. Nothing fake there! I might have to try a smaller version soon.
Happy Thanksgiving everybody. I made it for my timezone at least. Anyone else just wake up and put their turkey in the fridge? I was cuddling with my daughter and the kitties watching Netflix. I love peanut butter. I probably put double the peanut butter on my sandwiches then other people but I actually put less jelly. For a good extra stick-to-your-ribs meal with extra protein stir peanut butter into apple cinnamon oatmeal, I also dice up an apple and give it a microwave for a couple minutes before adding the oatmeal. I also really like pickles and peanut butter but the pickles are better when they're cold, occasionally I would take some with my lunch in high school and I will get the strangest looks. Not you too, think of things like Thai food and peanut satay. If I'm dragging and don't have time for anything else I'll do a spoonful of peanut butter. A couple years ago I did a Twix house for Christmas maybe I should do a peanut butter Twix
Elvis really loved peanut butter because another favorite sandwich of his was peanut butter and banana which is also really good! :) Lately, though I've been on a other nut butter kick like Cashew, Sunflower, and Almond butter. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
I fix regular PB triple sandwiches. Minus the bacon, & the giant size. My father would fix them for lunch, & I now fix it for my husband, & my teenager. It fills up the big boys more.

The inside usually has pork and other delicious fillings, and the whole thing is wrapped, then boiled until it is cooked all the way through. Some families use banana leaf, some use parchment paper. There's a lot more to it, but that's a very simple description. If you find a good puerto rican kitchen near you or someone who sells them, you should definitely give them a try. I love them with some hot sauce and some arroz con gandules
My bf has wanted to try Elvis' favorite sandwich for so long so he was loving this video when I showed it to him. We for real need to try it lol
Peanut butter and jelly is also great on a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. It doesn’t need to be a specific type of jelly, whatever flavor you prefer.
Wtf.. come on, that's just sickening. 🤢 The one in the video actually looks good/interesting. But pb&j with egg is bad enough but cheese too? What the hell are you thinking? That sounds so disgusting....
@@Gameboy-Unboxings I didn’t think it sounded appealing when I first had seen someone eating it. But after trying it I have to say it is pretty good.
Elvis was definitely a "Foodie"!!!!!
I have a Vintage Elvis cookbook & a Newer one, I made a point to make Every recipe in both books!! I didn't love every recipe, but all tasted decent, most were DELICIOUS!!! I hate PB, but my kids love the "EPFPBBS" Elvis Presley Fried Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwich. All recipes were super fun to make & try.
I’m a life long lover of peanut butter and just about every combination and use. My mother called me the Peanut butter Kid lol
One of my faves is green olive slices and peanut butter sandwich or tortilla
There’s this burger joint in Scottsdale called Rehab Burger Therapy and they have a burger with peanut butter, grape jelly, bacon and sriracha sauce and its amazing, you should try it
You mentioned around 6 people should eat this sandwich. There's actually a saying that this sandwich can feed 4-6 hungry adults or 1 Elvis LOL!!!!!
Happy thanksgiving Emmy!!! I’m very thankful for you!!! What a fun book- loving the legend!!!!! My thanksgiving wish would be to do a collaboration with you!!!!
I was curious so looked up values…I think around 7000 kcal if I added correctly
I could eat the sandwich in an hour
I think he ate 2 sandwiches a day, so maybe it was 15,000 calories if they are around 7000 each.
Oh wow!! I always cook my bacon in the oven too. It’s easier and no messes, it’s perfect every time. Thanks for sharing. God bless you.🙏🙏🙏
I've been addicted to pb and bananas, but I put down the pb, then banana, then HONEY, and OMG,, so good
I used to work right down the street from Nicks and let me tell you that place is littered with Elvis stuff all over the walls. He loves to talk about how he catered to the King back in the day. Decent food there. Kinda happy he and his establishment made it into a book.
"how many calories are in this this sandwich, mom?"
"don't ask, kiddo..."
If you can't feel your arteries hardening just standing in the same room as it then I've made a mistake with the recipe
A rough calculation doing the math. Being conservative around 6,805 calories in a single sandwich. A single one of those would be considerably more than 99% of people need to get through a day. Worst most of the calories come from fat and carbohydrates with a low overall protein content.
We are all very thankful for you Emmy as well. :)
My daddy loved bacon and peanut butter sandwiches. He also, loved peanut butter and banana sandwiches.
I'm amazed that Elvis and his friends could eat a full sandwich version of this. Its delicious but I could only eat one quarter of that sandwich
Oh, thank you!
I am so happy to be watching this while making my chicken wings for wing night. I seriously almost forgot to line my baking tray with foil. Thanks Emmy!
Which I guess I just ran out of. In very Emmy fashion, I'm going to reuse the foil that my sauces were wrapped in.
Ah a Colorado classic!!
Whaatt! 😻
A beast!😆
OMG I just got done with Thanksgiving dinner. And then watching you taste this made my stomach hurt even worse LOL
Peanut butter and bacon has always been a favorite sandwich of mine. I've not tried it with blueberry preserves but hey...Goals!
I'm surprised Binging With Babish hasn't done this yet. Looks good 😍
Another thing, live in England but was born to British parents while they lived in Canada so have found memories of p.b.& j.
🤣 You deserve the likes just for being brave and going in without a knife and fork!
Thanks.😊
It's the sweet and salty thing that makes this sandwhich so delicious🤤
Normally I would be thinking that this sandwich looks unique and I might need to try it, but since I just finished eating a rather large Thanksgiving dinner all I hear is my stomach asking me why in the world are you EVEN WATCHING food right now lol. Happy Thanksgiving Emmy and thank you for another wonderful video, much love to you and your family💞❣
You and Elvis are both legends! 💖💖 The 2 legendary E's, Emmy & Elvis. 😍🤩
Not gonna lie - that looks amazing! LOL
When I try it...I'll make a baby version (aka normal sized sandwich!) LOL
"Hark! The toaster's done!" 😄THIS! This is why I love Emmy! 💚❤️😁💖
While you were eating the sandwich, I can already FEEL the bread and bacon just DESTROYING the inside of my mouth. 😱
I made that the other day and boy it was delicious but it definitely filled me up. Wow!
Should be called the "See You Soon, Jesus." Sandwich. Lmiao. It's death on bread. Love ya, Emmy! 💜
I grew up eating this, my father ate this minus the jam or jelly, but occasionally bananas.
So good
If that’s how he ate there’s no way he actually secretly lived. 😅
This was never elvis's sandwich. The fools gold sandwich(jar of jam, jar of peanut butter, pound of bacon in a hollowed out French loaf) was developed by a Colorado mining company after elvis died.
The elvis sandwich is
Peanut butter, bacon and fried bananas on soft white bread. I make it with plantains because I'm allergic to bananas. It's delicious
This probably killed Elvis
Alongside all the drugs
I just keep imagining Elvis saying "boy, I do love me this here sandwich", with his lip slightly upturned, his eyes a bit glazed from the prescription meds he was hooked on, and with his Nudie suit shining with rhinestones and reflecting off his matching sunglasses. his arteries were not happy.
And that's why Elvis died of a heart-attack on the shitter.
I read that at the height of his eating, he was consuming 10k calories a day
Now THIS is the high quality, signature content I subscribed for
Elvis is Everybody
Elvis is EVERYTHING!
my nephew is 18 now and when he was a kid he like reading food label too
Emmy, you are adorable. Watching your videos always brightens my day!
Awesome video, Emmy. Great content and you are so fun and entertaining to watch.
Back in the early days of my marriage we had lots of bacon but had run out of tomatoes. I decided to have a peanut butter and bacon sandwich. My husband asked what I was making and I told him and he thought I was joking. He didn’t believe that my family ate them every time we had extra bacon. So he phoned my brother to call me out on it and my brother described perfectly how to make the sandwich, lightly toasted bread and thin layer of pb on each slice then all the bacon you want. Now my husband eats them with me when I accidentally on purpose make too much bacon. Occasionally I even add grape jelly.
My mom used to eat peanut butter and jelly with bologna and pickles on toast all the time. It tasted exactly how you'd think: downright awful. Then she got older and they started giving her heartburn lol. They gave me heartburn when I was 10 😂
The bacon looked so 😍 Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Happy Thanksgiving Emmy!
What I love about your videos I'd that you don't take a teensy bite of the recipe, you dig in! And the little yummy noises you make sound so heartfelt. Nothing fake there!
I might have to try a smaller version soon.
4:35 that pop was perrrrrfectly satisfying
Ive been rewatching and bingeing your videos so i didnt realize this was new lol
Elvis really loved peanut butter because another favorite sandwich of his was peanut butter and banana which is also really good! :)
Lately, though I've been on a other nut butter kick like Cashew, Sunflower, and Almond butter.
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
I fix regular PB triple sandwiches. Minus the bacon, & the giant size. My father would fix them for lunch, & I now fix it for my husband, & my teenager. It fills up the big boys more.
Peanut butter and bacon are the BOMB!! Try it with sriracha!!
You are incredibly pleasant!! Thank you for what you do!
