Oh my heavens!! Mary Darling and I are just about the same!! We must be the same age because all the designers...same....seriously! Thank you so much for your Flosstubers for a Day series. I've been sewing all day and really enjoying all those ladies you have interviewed! ❤
Thank you for introducing us to your friend Mary. She is delightful…and prolific. What a legacy she has created and shared with her family. It was an inspiring video.😊
I know I am late to the party but - What a wonderful video! I loved seeing all of Mary’s stitching! She is SO prolific! So many beautiful pieces! You are one of my stitching role models, Mary! ⭐️ And Grace, you are becoming the flosstube hostess with the mostest! You are such a great interviewer. Can’t wait to see who you have next as a guest! Thank you both! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I lived in Fort Worth back in the mid to late 1980s. I stitched like a fiend back then as I was having my babies. I lived for Cross Stitch and Country Crafts magazines and have them still. I enjoyed visiting with you! 😊
Another stunning video Grace by a phenomenal stitcher Mary as your guest was just mind blowing her body of work & the variety just loved❣️❣️🤩 Also liked Mary’s statement about stitching what is in your stash & WIP’s . Thank you both 🤗🤗♥️♥️
Another fantastic video! Thank you Grace and Mary for sharing with us. I was really touched to hear Mary share about the co-worker she stitched the wedding sampler for ~ super special. :)
Grace, these videos have been such a delight! I could have watched you two gals for hours! Loved seeing all of her gorgeous finishes and the memories and sentimental reasons for each piece......SO fun!!! I can't wait til the next one!!!!
Was just gonna pop in for a few minutes to see Mary, and finish it up on the weekend when I have more time. But I couldn’t stop watching! Stayed up way past my bedtime. Fantastic Flosstube ladies! (Miss you Mary! 😢.) ❤
I loved this video so much and will probaby watch it again several more times. Mary is absolutely so wonderful - beyond words. I will also go back and watch all of your other videos again. Thank you so much for all the care and inspiration and for sharing your time and beautiful stitching.
Wonderful video Grace and Mary! I love this FlossTuber for a day series and so enjoy getting to know the stitchers in our community. Mary - what an amazing stitcher you are! Thank you for sharing your stitching and yourself with us! -Carolyn
My story is so familiar to Mary's, AND my name is Mary also! I moved to a new area and found a cross stitch shop across from the library. I did embroidery and went into the shop asking for stamped embroidery. The shopkeeper said she didn't have that, but why not try counted cross stitch? I picked a small kit of a mini quilt, and I was hooked! Also I lent out wearable stitching and never got it back. My sister-in-law lost my Thomas the train stitched sweater I made for my son, and borrowed to my nephew. So sad: I would have liked it for my other son and later for my grandsons!
Grace, Thank you for introducing us to Mary. What a wonderful stitcher. I think we need to have the recipe for that drink that she shared. Sounds like the best tablemate share ever! Hic. Can't beat a drink that is like a dessert. Your idea of sharing 'Flosstuber for a Day" is great. Thank you so much for sharing. Happy stitching. Best, K
I really love this new feature. It's after 1 AM and I have to be up early for work, but I felt like I was having a cozy visit with stitchy friends and couldn't tear myself away. I also found it interesting that Mary was collecting "Mary" samplers to stitch since I've recently decided to do the same and have made a small start (with the collecting part but not the actual stitching part 😀.)
I love you we’re staying up late to stitch and chat!!! It’s great you are collecting for your Mary wall!! I have one Grace sampler and looking for more. Thank you for watching and your kind comments!!
@paisleystitcher1243 Mine will actually be a Susan wall, which is a bit more challenging in terms of selection. But that's ok because I'm a very slow stitcher. And Grace will also be represented because I hit the buy button on Grace Gill faster than the Roadrunner! 🏃♀️➡️ See you next time!
Hi Grace, thank you for having Mary showing her work. It was so inspiring that I started going through my things and found the Fraktur flowers pattern from La-D-Da, that I kitted it up to start. Throughly enjoy these videos. Thank you again 😊
You gals took me down memory lane! I have known Eileen Bennett for almost 40 years! My shop in Petoskey Michigan back in the 80’s & 90’s ( Lindy’s Sampler) carried The Sampler House, Theron Traditions, Sheepish Designs, The Hearts Content… as many sampler designers as I could find back in those days. Grace, your penchant for the big designs is awesome! Thank you for bringing Mary on line, it warmed my heart to hear familiar names of my era. Looking forward to your next Floss Tuber For A Day. Hahaha; way before your time there was a TV show…Queen For a Day. My mom never missed it🙂🌷
What a great video! So nice to hear about Mary’s stitching history - I remember those Cricket Collection designs - I think I might still have the one of the mother bunny holding her baby. Thank you for sharing your conversation with us. Mary is amazingly prolific - her family is so lucky.
I enjoyed this flosstube so much!!! You are a wonderful interviewer!! I felt like I was sitting with you two. Every question that came to my mind, you asked! And everything I wanted to see more of you asked Mary to show more of!! Thank you so much!! I got so much inspiration from you both!!!
Grace that was wonderful! Mary is fabulous. What a great friendship. Thank you so much for sharing her with us! Have a wonderful week. I need to stitch faster or not sleep😂❤
I SO loved seeing this! Love you both, and knew Mary was a prolific stitcher, but wow!! So touching! It was also a walk down memory lane with the talk about the "old" days of stitching. Keep these up, Grace, there are so many inspiring stitchers out there that we need to learn more about!!
Wonderful video! Can't believe how many designs I too have stitched. Mary, you showed that older 3 part pattern by Brenda Gervais that's on my bucket list. I have only 1 part that I picked up at a shop that was closing about 25 yrs ago. It's amazing, we have such similar tastes. Mary, your stitching is beautiful!
It was nice to meet Mary and see all her beautiful stitching. I learned early on that some of my friends/family treasure stitching gifts and some don't. Nothing wrong with the ones that don't but it's just not their "thing". Grace, I love your Flosstuber for a Day series.
Loved this video Grace and Mary! And I will encourage you Frace to find some of Maureen Appletons work. I truly think her work is among the finest there is, and if only you could see her finishing! It’s exquisite. Thank for doing this video. So enjoyable!
Thank you for helping me to feel normal. I have stitches in bags almost finished, almost finished with no chart, bags of floss for a project I can’t remember, and I never finish anything for myself. But I keep stitching. I love all kinds of needle work.
I got excited because I realized Mary lives in Texas. I would love to meet with her. I need a stitchy friend. I live in Sanger Texas and get 123 stitch stuff all the time. Please tell me how I contact her. Thank you

La DDa design is Fracktur Flowers. A friend stitched it on a tea dyed piece of 40ct silk gauze (1 over 1) and it was beautiful!
Wow! Over one on silk! I bet it is gorgeous!!!
Do you know if there are finishing instructions by Mary Cox in the antique needlework magazine?
There were some projects of hers in some of the issues and I’m sure she included the finishing instructions also
Thank you very much, I will check my issues
I got excited because I realized Mary lives in Texas. I would love to meet with her. I need a stitchy friend. I live in Sanger Texas and get 123 stitch stuff all the time. Please tell me how I contact her. Thank you
