Where I am from, tbe Xiaomi 12 Pro costs €840 and cannot justify this price when compared to the Pixel 7. Whilst the build quality seems good the software seems to still have issues. I want to invest in a smartphone where I can have some longevity in terms of enjoying the experience as well as the security updates. I was looking at the S22 for its compact size but battery seems to suck but should it matter as battery in these modern smartphones adapt to your particular usage. I don't play games on mobile so battery should last much longer for me. Also was looking at the Pixel 6 but no face unlock and finger scanner is dubious for most of the time.
Nice but UK price i cant see confirmed only $999 ? Mi11 2021 was banging it started at £650 early bird ( i bought it!) or then £750 in the UK, you can only really compare mi11 2021 @ WQHD+ 6.81 with the 12 pro 2022 as its successor, I feel like this line-up has tried to hide a big price increase by adding another model? Xiaomi is not Samsung and apple in the west re sale value is not as good, I can’t see it flying if its £999 this is Samsung S22 plus money, I wanted a mi12 that was an upgrade on last year with a modest price increase, this feels a bit like its going in a one plus direction price wise...
hey😊 i want to buy 12 pro soon what is the effect of miui 14 does it seem better in battery consumption? and i think there is a option for disabling graphic motions, does that affect fingerprint unlock faster? somehow its look like even 12/12x open faster than 12 pro
Got my Xiaomi 12 pro yesterday and must say it's fast, but had bad battery drain somehow when i was at work. There's no mobile services in the lockers and still drained the battery down to 9% from 50% after topping it off. Done a full charge at work and after the night it still was at 99% remaining ( Updated MUI 13 at home ).
@@aleach8209 it discharges pretty quick tbh. But that doesn't matter with the 120w charger. It will last about 3 hours when you're using Google Maps. Purchased a longer cable and that one is capable doing Xiaomi TurboCharge which is about 35-45W instead of 120w on the same power brick. Charging time? About 90 minutes Original OnePlus 65w warp charge also works on the phone, charging time is unknown " not tested" and really you need to have the screen off. It doesn't really like generic 5-10w chargers anyways.
Xiaomi 12 or 12 pro, which you recommend ? 12 pro is 1099 on pre-order here. I can see that my OnePlus 8T is only charging with 4.5A due to battery wearing out, it's smart, but not really 67w charging anymore. With the Xiaomi 12 pre-order, you get a 32 Inch TV + Sounbar 3.1. I don't really need both, so i'd rather go with pro model.
Hello TechTablets, great to see your review and recap about the updated version, quick question, where did you get global version of xiaomi 12 pro from? Im looking forward to buy one but since the launch premiere was yesterday I couldn't find it at the stores yet and im kinda in rush to get a new phone. Thanks in advance!
There's always something you need to be weary about Xiaomi. Chinese phones have this little sneaky business going on. This is why I like your channel for comparing things like the sensors, modules, throttling etc as it gives me a better understanding than someone reading off a spec sheet and showing only the good parts of a phone. Wish the common channel wasn't sponsored or paid for the review but at least it allows a niche for channels like yours that focus more on the technical.
@@noventay4 So now I'm influenced by "US propaganda?" How do you even reach such an absurd conclusion when nothing of the sort was discussed? Xiaomi phones not having USB 3 is also propoganda that the US has "brainwashed" me with.
I think Xiaomi has down clocked the 8 Gen 1 from the factory. Because all smartphones with 8 Gen 1 have a starting score of almost 2500 points in wild life and a finishing score of 1800 on average. But, no disrespect to Xiaomi but frankly I don't know anyone who will buy this 12 Pro for the same price as an S22+ or an iPhone 13 Pro, no one.
This year had a pretty weak start for Xiaomi. Their global RN11 release was disappointing, as was their Poco X4 series. The 12X is a great deal, but most people are waiting for 12 Ultra and Mix 5 Pro with the new Surge C2 ISP.
@@rolins3279 Eh, depends on how much you care about that SoC. I'd take the 870 with excellent efficiency. If you want a real deal I'd wait for K50 Pro+ with Dimensity 9000. Either way, we'll have to wait and see. Definitely not a strong start for Xiaomi this year.
Looks like they had to for the thermals, Cheese model doesn't even finish the Wildlife extreme test it will crash and burn. Closes the app and games due to overheating it's a mess. At least now the phone can game! But still a disappointing start to 2022

Great review, thanks... I just got 2 of these Xiaomi-12-Pro's for myself and my wife but when we bought them we were told it had wireless charging but they don't! The Oppo _is Just_ edging it over the Xiaomi by 50.1% to 49.9% - because of ColorOS. It's _that close!_ I've watched loads of video's about both - *and still can't make my mind up!*
plus whatever you said, Xiaomi 12 pro has a real problem with AndroidAuto ! I bought a global version in Germany, following issues made me return it in one week! 1. OverHeat: the device was overheating for no reason! one time I was doing a WhatsApp video call, and the phone closed the WhatsApp and all background apps, the second time, when I was taking photos with the rear camera 2. AndroidAuto: it connect to my car, all fine, but the screen resolution on the car was not adjusted correctly !! all fonts were extremely big, and I tried all possible solutions and did not work.. note: I have a 2020 model car and android Auto works fine on it with the following phones: Xiaomi 11, Xiaomi 8 pro, Realme GT PRO 2 ( at least I tested these ). 3. battery Life: disaster! even my Xiaomi 8 pro, which is four years old! has a better battery life! during the night Xiaomi 12 pro consumes 20-25% !!! and it does not last half a day if you even do not play with it and do regular stuff. 4. laggy camera: when the battery is low(below 50%) when I want to take pictures ! it lags like hell. in general, I'm not recommending it at all !! although I have been a XIAOMI fan for so long and have been satisfied with Xiaomi 8 pro, this phone is no go at all! I don't even think the overheating problem is only a software matter...

Great review Thanks 👍👍👍 Thanks
Turn off some background apps to save energy during idle time... Change the auto start manager ?
If only that 2X optical zoom was a 3X zoom and it would have been perfect! But very nice phone en kudos for your review!
Which you would say is better: Xiaomi 12 Pro or OnePlus 10 Pro? Both global version. I'm thinking of upgrading from my OP 7 Pro
hey😊
i want to buy 12 pro soon
what is the effect of miui 14 does it seem better in battery consumption?
and i think there is a option for disabling graphic motions, does that affect fingerprint unlock faster? somehow its look like even 12/12x open faster than 12 pro
26 minutes is absolutely blazing 🔥
Sure is quick
Excellent vid as always
Got my Xiaomi 12 pro yesterday and must say it's fast, but had bad battery drain somehow when i was at work.
There's no mobile services in the lockers and still drained the battery down to 9% from 50% after topping it off.
Done a full charge at work and after the night it still was at 99% remaining ( Updated MUI 13 at home ).
Would you recommend buying one?
@@aleach8209 it discharges pretty quick tbh.
But that doesn't matter with the 120w charger.
It will last about 3 hours when you're using Google Maps.
Purchased a longer cable and that one is capable doing Xiaomi TurboCharge which is about 35-45W instead of 120w on the same power brick.
Charging time? About 90 minutes
Original OnePlus 65w warp charge also works on the phone, charging time is unknown " not tested" and really you need to have the screen off.
It doesn't really like generic 5-10w chargers anyways.
@@daand12 play genshin? How's the performance?
Xiaomi 12 or 12 pro, which you recommend ? 12 pro is 1099 on pre-order here.
I can see that my OnePlus 8T is only charging with 4.5A due to battery wearing out, it's smart, but not really 67w charging anymore.
With the Xiaomi 12 pre-order, you get a 32 Inch TV + Sounbar 3.1.
I don't really need both, so i'd rather go with pro model.
I was so hoping you were going to review slow-mo video, from what I read it can do 1920 fps @ 720 that would be a compelling reason for some people.
Hi, this is a review unit sent to me from Xiaomi over 3 weeks ago.
@@Techtablets quite suspicious, maybe they tweak this model they sent you? Because on other channel the heat still there
Best reviewer on youtube! Keep going!
Thanks, and for the view! I really try to avoid reading just spec sheets.
There's no sneaky business going on, that's just an invention from US Propaganda, they go through all the security verifications as any other phone
@@noventay4 So now I'm influenced by "US propaganda?" How do you even reach such an absurd conclusion when nothing of the sort was discussed? Xiaomi phones not having USB 3 is also propoganda that the US has "brainwashed" me with.
Didn't know you were in Spain. Saludos desde Canarias.
@@rrageneral1499 The 12x is the worst deal, it costs 2 times as much as a Poco F3 and almost as expensive as a Xiaomi 12.
@@rrageneral1499 The Poco F3 has the 870 and currently costs $350 at most.
This 12x is the same price as the S21, S21 Fe, Pixel 6 and iPhone 12.
Looks like they had to for the thermals, Cheese model doesn't even finish the Wildlife extreme test it will crash and burn. Closes the app and games due to overheating it's a mess. At least now the phone can game!
But still a disappointing start to 2022
What a gorgeous device 👌🏾
20 June 2023 I order this phone but I didn't knew anything about it's issues... Should I'm I expecting decent improvements by now with the software updates?
Great review, thanks... I just got 2 of these Xiaomi-12-Pro's for myself and my wife but when we bought them we were told it had wireless charging but they don't! You are supposed to be able to switch on wireless charging in Settings-Battery but our phones don't have the option! The supplier still says it's got wireless charging but they can't find how to turn it on and Xiaomi doesn't reply to emails... Any ideas?
Very, very nice review!
Thank you very much!
You live in such a beautiful place !!
Thanks
I wonder if Chris will be able to get his hands on the new Lenovo Legion Gaming tablet. I still haven't seen too many English reviews of that tablet.
As always, very detailed review, thank you for the content you're offering.
Have you planned to review any new Samsung smartphone (s22+ or ultra)?
I’ve got the S22 Ultra but no plans to make a stand alone review it would get no views. But a few comparisons with it maybe.
@@Techtablets I think you are right about the ultra, but for the s22 + as it is the sweet spot (the one i pre-ordered) many people want to see a deep dive and not just a comparaison, i may be wrong
why 22-26 minute for 100% charging, I saw others videos charging speed test are around 18-19 minute?
Meh we want a dimensity 9000 phone
review or 8100 especially the 8100 I hope you have been using the k50 series for weeks now as well I can't wait for the 8100 I'm super excited for that specific chipset
I would love to see a Dimensity 9000 phone. No I didn't buy the K50 doing so is just a huge loss for me. Spent 1k on the phone with shipping, another $250 on import taxes to then get around 20k views and $20. Sell the phone for $700. Just a loss. I'm buying no more gaming laptops and less Chinese models as I only loose out.
@@Techtablets I can understand that, it's easy for a viewer like me to want these things but you got bills to handle
@@Techtablets Redmi K50 Pro+ will have Dimensity 9000 which will launch quite soon, I think you will get good views for it if you import it, as it is one of the first phone to come with Dimensity 9000, and everyone is expecting a good phone with that chipset.
oppo find x5 pro also has the 1080 front facing video. Hopefully the ultra and subsequent xiaomi phones will all have usb 3 AND 4k front video
so they fix the overheating issue in GLobal?because im hesitating to buy xiaomi 12 because of that heat issue..
Seems so at least on my 12 Pro global nonkore overheating messages on my Chinese model it’s still doing it and I can’t play Genshin impact for more than 20-25 minutes but so such issues on the global version.
When does it come out in usa?
Thanks for a really good, and very informative, video.
Which out of the Xiaomi 12 Pro and the Oppo Find X5 Pro would you recommend?
I don't need to have 2023's latest and greatest, I never game on a phone, so that's not an issue for me; I'm a "point-and-shoot" camera user and not at all technical - if it looks good to me, it's good enough for me!
The Oppo _is Just_ edging it over the Xiaomi by 50.1% to 49.9% - because of ColorOS. It's _that close!_
I've watched loads of video's about both - *and still can't make my mind up!*
The Oppo for the firmware and main camera performance.
@@Techtablets Thanks. Have ordered the Oppo (in black).
plus whatever you said, Xiaomi 12 pro has a real problem with AndroidAuto ! I bought a global version in Germany, following issues made me return it in one week!
1. OverHeat: the device was overheating for no reason! one time I was doing a WhatsApp video call, and the phone closed the WhatsApp and all background apps, the second time, when I was taking photos with the rear camera
I don't even think the overheating problem is only a software matter...
front camera video recording stuck in full HD resolution is really unacceptable for 2022 flagship standard. and meme ui getting worst year by year, battery standby drain issue is aged bug but they can't fix it till now.. 😪
They still have a lot of work to do on the software with MIUI 13
@@Techtablets too many ROM by country/region makes bugs fixed really slow. they focus to launch a bunch of new phone, they don't really care what users complaints about how suck meme ui nowadays.
Hi does the heating problem being solved in the Xiaomi 12 (not pro) global version as well?
Not sure as I didn’t get that unit
My god, it is really sad to see how Xiaomi is really sinking with this poor optimisation and stability problems...
They really need to turn things around with MIUI...
Bro, can you review xiaomi 12t with D8100 and do a battle with Realme gt neo 3? Thanks in advance
We need a teardown comparison. I hope there's a channel that can do it.
Hmmm that could be a $999 phone down the drain.
@@Techtablets yes, but someone like Jerry should be able to cover the cost, but he might not have the access to the Chinese model.
you doesn't need to teardown to know what's different inside both phone. There is no difference, the only difference is in term of software side of thing, not hardware. Chinese Rom runs a lil hotter is bcoz of the SoC performance peak at a higher performance and it throttles much more due to heat. The global rom run cooler but lower performance and more stable.
@@redfieldmarkz1963 I won't believe it before seeing it myself. There's still a chance of hardware difference instead of pure software only, though I won't neglect that chance as well.
@@leledumbo Companies wont waste money revamping the thermal design when they can just use software to tweak the performance to run cooler and stable. U can see the performance difference in 8:29 , the performance only peak at 1837 which Snapdragon 8 gen 1 usually peak at around 2600 but throttle a lot more. the stability usually around 60%-65%
25% loss on standby just overnight?
That's a lot!
My Mi 10T only lose like 4-5% and I've been using this for over a year now.
My Mi 6 would lose around 30% overnight but that one is an old phone.
Yes seems it has a wake lock it will not enter into sleep the firmware is the issue.
Audio on recordings sound on a different league to Realme, and this is despite the critique on 96-128 kbit heh
It's a lot quieter than the GT2 Pro the mics.
What to buy 11t pro ,Mi 11,Mi 11 or Mi 11 pro?
Hey man i really like to see your video and trust your judgement
Can you please make a detailed video about realme Gt neo 2

Any news about the xiaomi 12X ?
It's out now globally but i didn't get one to review.
Why does all the websites say 12 pro display can show 1 billion colors and 12, 12x can show 68 billion colors???? Can someone please clear that up ????? 😅
The same fog issue is still there in Indian version..
Xiaomi is the Future !
What about global version of xaiomi 12..?
Does it have any improvement over chinese version
Watch the video I do answer that, especially the part about thermals and main camera lens fogging over.
Will you recommend this phone and can it give me whole day battery life... Thank you
nobody notice that the screen actually have dead pixel on it?
Really I see nothing must have been a spec of dust or something
The judder when panning is such a disappointment in 2022. I had a phone with Snapdragon S4 Plus in 2013 and I noticed the same judder. I wonder if this is an SOC issue or just software. Especially for flagship phones, this is embarrassing.
This In-Display Fingerprint Sensor is Ultrasonic or Optical.
Optical
For the same price, this or the gt 2 pro?
GT2 Pro. And I have a comparison coming in about 1-2 hours of both those head to head...
What's the name of the App that measures the internal disk speed?
Andro bench
My Mi 10T Pro was doing ok with MIUI 12 then with MIUI I have that loading screen all the time now. So bad I am thinking about changing my phone.
does the global version work on tmobile
i just dont get it. why no 1080p and why no ultra models for rest of the world with vivo, xiaomi etc. i would buy x90 pro plus today, but i won't, i want normal 2 year warranty in my country, i want android auto working and i want normal simple google backup by default. what is with them, like they are not allowed to release them to the rest of the world or they will get in trouble with someone if they do...my only explanation
People complain that during phone call everyone can hear the person from the call due to the loud ear speaker and its bad position, is that true?
I didn't have this issue

20 min full charge? Some phone take 2 hour ++ my question is it worth upgrading from note 12 to note 12 pro considering the price difference?
It's more lien 24 minutes but it's very fast.
Why the screen is flickering???
Maybe Global used TSMC build for the SD
Don't think so just revised the design of it or added more copper.

Much better now from firmware updates

How is this possible to have a model of the same product but 2 difference overheating problems by chinese or global version??? sounds really shady to me :(
The Chinese model came out 3 months ago so since then they had time to fix the major overheating problem. Which now the Global version doesn’t seem to have at least not my review unit.
25% drain on standby mode over night? How? Did it was on always on display?
No it was off. Not sure bug it will not go into a deep sleep state. A wake lock issue, firmware feels very beta at the moment.
