@@cw9282he gets ZERO sympathy. He made the decision to drink and drive, and you know the road rage he exhibited is present whether he's drunk or not- the booze just made it worse. He was arrogant and ignorant and he made his choice- and now two young men are dead because of it.
Higgins will still get to see his family and his kids. Johnny and Matthews kids don't get that luxury- they'll grow up never knowing their dads or their uncles. Because of him. Sean Higgins doesn't deserve sympathy or empathy.

I saw the police report: open container of alcohol, drinking from an open container of alcohol while driving. . . I grew up on the East coast; there’s no way 5-6 East coast beers (we’ve got beer that’s 7-12% alcohol here in Seattle, but those aren’t legal on the East coast) is going to make you so blind drunk that you don’t see two bicyclists with reflectors, etc. That driver has a serious, hard core alcohol problem. I’ve been a Calgary Flames fan in Calgary for 40 years. I have watched Johnny play many times at the saddledome at games I attended and watched nearly every flames game on TV for past 40 years… we have missed him in Calgary, now we will never see him again. Very sad. Loved watching him play. Him and Mathew Tkchuk were great teammates. Calgary is saddened by this loss and we feel for the family losing 2 sons. I remember a sportscaster from Calgary interviewing him after a great game. The sportscasters name was Ryan. Ryan said your great Johnny. And his reply was. You’re great too Ryan! Was a classy response. 😢

Family was supposed to be enjoying a wedding today...Can't even imagine what they must be feeling. I live in Calgary and Johnny was very well loved here before he left for Columbus. Obviously some fans here were upset when he left the way he did but I think every single one of those fans feel horrible right now. Hockey lost one of the best players in the league.
