These uploads right here is why keep my sanity and not wanna fight the world. Its genuine calming funny infotainment. Thank you for you being you and keep up the great work
"Snitches get stitches." Isn't Dan a little young for the dad jokes? Although to be fair as a young man who works as a cobbler for a living, deep down he's a bit of an old "sole." 😀
I love watching people who love what they do! I couldn’t help but notice he’s got some strong hands 😅 It kind of reminded me if Tarzan had come back to England with Jane and got a real job 🤣 keep up the good work!
Great video. You do nice work. Golf shoe restoration videos are my favorite. This was actually a remake because those shoes looked new. My guess is that a young guy obtained a pair of never worn before vintage footjoys with the combination leather and rubber sole, wore them once and felt it was going to take too much to break in such a rigid construction. So he brought them to you to put on a cushy sole (which is great and probably more suitable for a wet golf course than the original soles) and decided to bling them up with colorful soft spikes. Not what I would have done but they turned out great and as usual "the customer is always right." Look forward to your next project.
Like many viewers, I too don't know how I got here, but I just can't leave! I enjoy watching you passionately and intellectually do your work. I love your sense of humor & love Ron & Reggie. Love from New Orleans
Back in the 90’s I was a Systems Analyst for Titleist/Footjoy. We still operated our old cobbler plant in Brockton, MA USA. It was like going back in time whenever I visited the plant. By far the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever owned were Footjoys. Nice job on the repair and your other fantastic videos. Take care, from Cape Cod, MA.
I don't know how I drifted in here last night, I have been watching your videos for about 9-10 hours, on and off. I like watching people that work with their hands, make what used to be an everyday event into something special, mostly forgotten and disappearing. I like nice shoes, and I hate not being able to fix them, so I take them with me on vacation to Mexico, where there's a cobbler ready to repair my $125 dollar Keen sandals for a few bucks, or my expensive Ferragamo at the master cobblers' for 100. So how am I doing today? Loving watching a virtuoso at his trade making very difficult things to learn and master look easy.
No wonder it's so bloody hot in the shop. You not only had to screw 22 brand new studs in the shop but also film a Jerk Off session. I don't know how you do it some times but regardless it's always a pleasure to see you do it.
Glad to see you back and what a very interesting job it was too. Ron & Reggie look like they could be big trouble, I'm sure that they will drive you quackers!
C'est un excellent travail que vous faites, Monsieur ! Je regarde souvent vos vidéos.Vous êtes un vrai artiste.J'espère que vous comprendrez mon message en français.J'admire beaucoup votre travail.
Hi Dan!! Good to see ya’ and love the great repair on these shoes- and the dad jokes are just part of the fun🤩 You brighten a very gloomy weather day here in the states, thanks 💕🐥
Nice surprise , Dan's back with Ron and Reggie? Another well done video Dan. I am truly amazed you are still able to show us new types of repairs. When you flip the switch, that first bulb gets the surge of power first, easing it for the others down the line, but I think it's a good omen for season 2, How's the Challenger mate? Maybe...um....you should... um um um .... go back to your list and .... amd.. um... see what you put after golf? Glad your back Dan!
Thanks for your RUclips page. Having been born and raised in the home town of FootJoy (Brockton Massachusetts) I was always curious as to how "special" these shoes are. Mystery solved. Thanks.
Nice. You and Bedo do quite a bit of hammering while putting soles on. I suppose the new one has some shock absorption. Some even align nails though it might be meant for wood.
Those didn’t look worn at all. Was that just for fun? You’ve got me hooked, theres something about this I can’t take my eyes off. Great work, very impressive!
Reggie, welcome to the show. Being a star on the best channel on RUclips will bring you fame and many adoring fans. Don't let it change who you are. Hang back a bit and follow Ron's lead. He is a pro at this. And keep an eye on Dan. He does a great job, but may need a little help from time to time.
Hey Dan, just wondering what happens to all the excess leather that doesn't make it into the sole? Is it just binned, or is there some way of recycling it? Love the channel!
well according to the old norse, all leftover leather is used to build the shoe that Vidar, son of Thor, will put into the mouth of the Fenris wolf to keep it from swallowing him at Ragnarok :D Dan might have different setup though
Me and golf are gonna have a round of Ron. Your craftsmanship is amazing keep up the good work! Would love to know a little history in the shop. When it was started family business? How you got started. Watching from small town Pennsylvania. Keep it up!
My grandfather was a cobbler. He taught me, and I have all of his equipment, but my dream was flying, do I went to the air force, but now that im a civilian, I should start doing some cobbling for fun. I found it peaceful when I was growing up.
I have a a bunch of old antique cobbler tools like hammers and a few of the metal feet things the shoes go on while u work on them. The stand thingy. I think some are for children's shies cuz their tiny. Wonder if they have any value. Tiny little hammers are goofy looking
Hahaha, Ron had a baby cousin! Love the easter eggs in your video - "freeze sucker"😂😂😂 is "Jerk Off" a real product?😂😂😂 It's so cool to see how you figure out making the pattern for the new sole. Love the GetSticky music 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵😂 PS- thundering success for season 2, and now I was not get an Edison bulb too. Nice new hammer too!👏🏻 Tattoo socks?
Him and Duncan Rhoades from warhammer tv are the epitome of British in all of the most marvelous ways! Keep up the amazing work, your charisma is undeniable, my good chap! Edit: tell Reggie I said hi! Love the addition to the family
Those look Awesome! I want to send you mine, but I don't have regular soles they are the FJ DNA. I have had them for 10 plus years (bought multiple pairs lol (great sale))
I was wondering when you stitch the new sole to the shoe, do you try to match the old holes and if not is there a limit how often a shoe can get a new sole?
Why did that need to be done? They looked in really good nick. Sorry, just wondering. Also, do you not use locktight when you put the new studs in, just the ones removed had red locktight on them it seemed.
Wow. So interesting to see the processes used to resole a shoe. Having golf shoes redone only added to the experience. My fear is that shoe repair shops will ultimately disappear as cheaper shoes dominate the market. Great video.
I'm back guys! Hope you enjoy the video and there are plenty more on the way. One thing we won't talk about is my golf swing!
Can't wait to watch
Welcome Back Dan!!! I hope your time away was reinvigorating 😊😊

Never thought I’d enjoy watching various shoes being repaired as much as I do. Love the channel! Not a lot of people do what you do anymore!

Looked to me that they did not need much( if any ) work , I would have just changed the screw ins on the sole . Makes a good video though,

Loved the outtakes. Nice to have you back, Dan. Excellent work as always.
Watching this guys channel has made me buy a pair of shoes a cobbler would have to maintain.

Dan going with The Cult! Great song
Increíble !! I didn’t know that golf shoes could be in your shop!! Nice job !!
It would be interesting to know how much a service like this would cost
what happens if you didn't heat the glue? Like placing it right away after putting the glue?
Hmmm, it would dry but with a less secure solid bond, would likely come away over time.
Dan can GET IT

I never knew golf shoes had so many layers. Also, what is the purpose of allowing the glue to dry and then reheating it? Loved the video.
That’s just how contact adhesive works,
Then once fully dry it’s flexible 👌
Great watching a skilled craftsman at work, but have to ask what was wrong with those as they looked pretty much brand new.
I was wondering when you stitch the new sole to the shoe, do you try to match the old holes and if not is there a limit how often a shoe can get a new sole?
Yep thats the idea! if you do it perfectly the showe could have perhaps 5 new soles

How to your clients decide when to replace the sole versus buy a new pair? Is replacing the sole/spikes more cost friendly than just buying new?
