Thank you for both of the videos, I got the Barista Express yesterday and I did not know why no pressure on the gauge. I will ajust the machine (I like the coffee I curently buy).
Good to know...I just purchased a brand new machine and my winter blend beans were giving me a very low pressure for just a double shot. I believe it probably is the beans. One shot was fine with pressure. Doesn't make much sense. I will try to adjust the internal burr grinder to lower setting to make a double sho with better pressure. Thanks for your videos.
He is saying the name of the other bean is "Lavazza" (since the bag is never shown, only appears as text for a few seconds after several minutes into the video).
Hi, I think I may have a counterfeit machine. Model #BES870XL is what is on the machine. Watching your video I noticed my burr attachment doesn’t look like yours. It has no numbers on the black plastic and the lock ring has ears for the metal ring on top of the plastic. With the locking ring removed and holding the metal trying to move the black plastic but, it doesn’t move. Definitely stationary. I bought this machine from a guy that had 3 to 5 machines when I got mine. He was selling these out of his garage. I paid $275 for my machine , better than half price. At this price I new I was buying an outdated machine, I didn’t even the think counterfeit. The machine has worked fine for the past couple of years. Now no pressure. Can’t adjust the burr. No pressure reading 0. Might be the pump will call support
Your machine is original 😀👍 1. See BBE generations I posted ruclips.net/video/vlMhRVU0pJM/видео.html 2. Missing Inner adjustable burrs? ruclips.net/video/MLStfkW4exU/видео.html 3. Before you buy a pump do this Pressure TEST and let me know ruclips.net/video/acQYG7HkYb4/видео.html
Hello, mine is exactly the same of yours, but ı couldnt fine any number or any sign of internal burr setting/size like finer to coarse, there is nothing at the iner part of grinding part .Maybe you know the other ways to change the internal burr setting. Thank you
Hi, Thank you very much for the video & your tutorial so far. How to set the machine for longer water flow ( into portafilter ) ? i can counted your's is around 25 sec , i'm facing short flow for only 17 sec . Please advice how to prolong it . Thank you.
Hi Lee, good question! There are few ways to achieve that. 1. If you keep this equation in mind, you will get that number. Finer the Grind is, longer the Extraction. For example if you get 17 sec using Grind 4, next time use Grind size 2. This will increase the time to 20 or 22 sec etc because finer the Grinds will restrict the flow of espresso. 2. Using same settings as you got 17 seconds, next time Tamp more. More tamping pressure will restrict the flow which will also increase the Extraction time. 3. Another rare possibility is someone played with Program mode for a short Extraction. In that case you can easily reset water Volume by pressing Program button. See my other video how to reset water Volume. ruclips.net/video/xBSc4h7MQrc/видео.html Hope this helps.
I've got a couple of different brands to try but will use up my current batch first. I assume it's worth noting the different settings for each coffee brand to make switching easier. One question I have, is it worth measuring the coffee beans seperately, it kind of makes the hopper defunct but can see why you do it for consistency.
Both are kind of right. But mainly you need to adjust the grid size to coarser. See how to dial in ruclips.net/video/XoRRjoI8Ck8/видео.htmlsi=3gNpewaAXKrObz1X
You can buy the inner burr. See link in my video description of this. Other option is ALWAYS use freshly Roasted (with Roasted date) on it, and consume in 3 or 4 weeks.
@@tarczapotieszter5909 seems its sold out everywhere. But I'd still suggest you to call Breville parts. They usually have it in stock or advise you when to expect. I have called breville few times and they had parts which showed out of stock in their site. Here is the link www.breville.com/us/en/parts-accessories/parts/sp0001801.html?sku=SP0001801 Amazon link is in the description
As you know single shot has less Extraction time, but you should get the right pressure range for single shot as well (for very few seconds). If not then you'll have to reset the water Volume. See this video ruclips.net/video/ndVFXsrT2pU/видео.html
Thanks!
That's the problem I have right now, thank you so much for your vdo. I will try new bean, let's see it will fix the problem.

Try to get freshly Roasted beans, the one you like. Not freshly bought. Freshly Roasted makes a big difference.

Another good video Aju
Thank you Shane
maybe my machine is older but my upper burr doesn't have a number scale for adjustment and appears not be able to be adjusted at all.

Thanks for your videos. Really helped me dial it in. Of course it’s different with every bean type.
That's correct. To avoid adjusting the burrs, buy freshly Roasted beans and consume in 2 weeks.

I am new to the Espresso machine. My shot is always over the espresso range. How to fixed it? Is it too much dose or too much pressure for tamper?
Both are kind of right. But mainly you need to adjust the grid size to coarser. See how to dial in ruclips.net/video/XoRRjoI8Ck8/видео.htmlsi=3gNpewaAXKrObz1X
Where is the right pressure for great taste
Depends on the beans again. But if you get 12 - 1 o clock pressure range then it must be tasting good
Hy. I dont have internal numbers … What can i make?

I get low pressure on the steam wand. DO you have any ideas?
Same reasons i mentioned previously. It could be that it needs descaling.
What is the size of ypur tamper?
53mm tamper
But what about single shot? This doesn't work the same for single shots
