My fave Phillip lead vocal is on "I'll Write A Song For You." My Mother used to cry happy tears to that song!! Got us through some tough times.

I always thought Philip was a female singing because back in the day, no one knew. All we had access to was sound. When more technology became available, I went into shock to learn it had been a man singing those lyrics in that range the whole time! He's extremely impressive. Just an amazing human being.

Phillip Bailey was incredible on the 1980’s Prog Rock album “Smallcreeps Day”. Hired as the lead singer by Bassist Michael Rutherford of Genesis.
A forgotten gem. One of my favorite Prog Albums. It could have easily have been the next Genesis album after “And Then There Were Three”.

I love Earth, Wind, And Fire! I remember hearing there music when I was a child and getting goosebumps. I still get goosebumps and that great feeling that pure music from the soul gives you. I am so thankful and blessed that my parents was playing this music in our home. Their impact on music is so wide ranging and you can see their impact on Hip Hop with Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, The Roots, all the way to Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak.
Easily one of the vest vocalist to have ever touched the mic.
Philip is an amazing triple threat musician . He always receives a standing ovation from me at EWF concerts, and other productions i.e David Foster! Moreover, Philip’s compassion , with his commitment to his music is unity foundation!

I loved EWF since the mid-seventies, however once their music began to become more mainstream by the early 80's, their R&B sound changed dramatically to a more POP sound (songs like September, Let's Groove Tonight, and Philip Bailey's duet Easy Lover, with Pop singer Phil Collins, 😤, Earth,Wind&Fire's career was coming to end, and despite Philip Bailey's dynamic 💥💯 Falsetto range 🥰🌟 for those of you who are true R&B music fans, there are so many more dynamic 💥 💯 BLACK male FALSETTO 's especially from the 70's with the ranges that were equal or even better than Philip Bailey's, however most of these powerhouse male FALSETTOS were the LEAD VOCALISTS of their perspective singing groups, the Stylistics, Enchantment, Delphonics, and so many more to mention 🥰, i loved their music unconditionally!!!!

Unbelievably, he replaced the late, great Eddie Kendricks as my all time favorite falsetto guy. In the early 70s, I called him "Eddie 2.0", but surpassed and exceeded the historical marks Eddie (and even Smokey) made. He's "Eddie 3.0! He's the greatest.

4:55 - LOL - Um, how about The Beatles being 'dubbed' "The white Earth, Wind & Fire", instead of EW&F being dubbed, "The black Beatles"??! Why is it always Caucasians that are automatically seen as the benchmark for every dang thing? I mean, it was black folks who created Rock & Roll in the first place, lest we forget. There would be no Beatles if it weren't for Little Richard, or Chuck Berry, or Big Momma Thornton, etc., etc., etc. Just about every form of popular music in America was formed and pioneered by black artists. And it is about time that these pioneers be considered the benchmarks upon which all others who come after them are compared. I mean, it's no different than how many of these ignorant arse young folks these days are under the mistaken impression that Hip-Hop and Rap began with Eminem, LMBO! Just keepin' it 100% real, folks.

Another bad mamma jamma! My high school was just like a school for the arts. People singing in the hallways in all high pitch fascetto ranges. Everyone back then had to sing in high ranges! That was the thang and Phillip Bailey was the one we all modeled after. Beautiful high pitch voice with the song, "Keep Your Head To The Sky." Every one used to sing that song practicing the highest ranges of Phillip Baileys riffs. Definitely one of my inspirations for singing in high fascetto! The group EW&F was and still is a beautiful group with positive music and lyrics!
