To all those who got their norse mythology knowledge from Marvel... You should know that Thor is and will never be lokis brother. That's just in the movies and comics. In the original mythologie loki is odins brother
And I still feel bad for Fenrir and can't wait until ragnarok when hr starts eating people. They deserve it. Fenrir would've been one of their most loyal and strongest fighters but they fulfilled the prophecy by binding him when he did NOTHING but be a good boy.
They still kill his sons Narvi and Vali. By turning Vali into a wolf that rips Narvi to shrads while making Loki watch, then killing Vali as well. They then bind Loki with the guts of Narvi. And people wonder why Lokis pissed of lol.
WTF? where did he lose his son here. Fenrir is still alive and Kills ODIN in the end (fate spun by the Nornir). Odin tries to escape this fate through mimir's knowledge of Resurrection.
No offense but I always though (and I read all myths, I am a huge Norse myth fan) that the Gods kinda were asking for Rangarock to happen. I mean you would think that they would have done a better job at preventing it, instead all they did was make it happen.... also in earlier versions of the myth it never said that Fenrir was bad, he was bound because the gods were afraid of his size and nothing more... it was when Fenrir was tricked and bound that Fenrir became “evil” (I say it in air quotes because I know anybody would have been furious and want revenge after being tricked and bound for god knows how long especially when you did nothing wrong..... I mean it’s like sentencing an innocent man to jail for years only to find out that the person was innocent and let out, I can guarantee you that that person is not going to be a happy camper when he/she gets out)
It was all fated by the Norns anyways, wether or not the Gods did something different, it would always end in the end of all things, because everything must die eventually.
@@dcmuggamuga407 still Odin asked for it. I mean he knew what was to come and such and still he did what he did… Which considering that he is an “all seeing god” it is very contradictory. Especially when you think of it this way… if fate was not meant to change then why did the fates allowed Odin to see it? That to me said how there was a chance to change it… Among other things as Norse mythology is very complicated due to all the contradictions that exist and such.
They don't ask for anything. What was will be again, and you cannot break that. But being truthful, the binding of fenrir wasn't a battle, and Fenrir wasn't tricked per se... he knew something was wrong, and that's why Tyr loses his hand. Fenrir is the one who tries to manipulate fate. Because his bindings are non-existent, and therefore impossible to break. Fenrir is doomed to fight his gleipnir for eternity, and the world only ends when he finally wins a battle that physically cannot happen. The world in norse mythology seems like it can never end... but yet they knew it would, and that when it did nothing can stop it. Its not just charcaters and prose, it's metaphysics.
@@lespena3722 I like to think that with being a all seeing god it brings a sense of arrogance; you can kind of pick it up with Havi here. @@golik133 In reality Odin wouldn't even need to try against Kratos to win, a tip of the gungnir would vanish Kratos. I'm a Norse Pagan/Asatru or whatever the meanings are as well.
Its Norsy Mythologie. Fenrir is a Jotun which are shape shifters. They can take any possible form. Some change it from time to time, like Loki, some dont. Actually Fenrir is not a Wolf but a Jotun in the shape of a wolf. In Myth he also is very intelligent and does also speak.
I don't really play assassin's creed games, is it normal that a character that you may suppose is really important like Loki has the most generic design?lol
Honestly I’m watching this not knowing what the hell is going on. Last I played Assassin’s Creed the point was that you played fictional characters during real time periods alongside real historical figures; the only “fantasy” aspect were the First Civilization but otherwise there weren’t Gods, monsters and all that jazz... I guess they changed it up lol
So, here is the explanation Loki, son of Laufy was born a frost giant. And had the same appearence as a frost giant. When the battle of Bohr and Odin and the asgardian army against Laufy and the frost giants. Loki has found abandoned as a weekling and got adopted by odin. And becoming Loki, the god of illusions and tricks, and son of odin. He can shapshift into anything alive, so his character design isn't to take only in consideration. Since he isn't godly. And still Loki is the father of 3 of the most iconic characters in the norse mythology. Hel, Fenrir and Jörmungander. So yes he is generic but because he can transform and blend in with the rest. Odin is stupid. In both version, Odin try to enchain Fenrir, which actually contribute to ragnarok. In both version too, it is said that Fenrir actually was friendly before being tied up gleipnir. If the all father would be less idiot, he would have a powerful friend with him. Paranoïa got the best of him. Beside, if fate is truly inescapable, why bother trying to change it massively, while you could manipulate small detail? Perhaps his death in the myth by the hand of Fenrir would be less painful. Fenrir freeing himself is the start of ragnarok, but what if he was never enchained? Stupid Odin
Well that's the sole reason why it happened, Odin tried to escape that fate but ended up supporting it, that's how fate works. It's funny how people are confident in saying that my Gods are false and stupid but whenever someone doesn't capitalise the word "God" (Bible) everyone starts flabbergasting about it. People are complaining about how these Gods look like average joes, but if they even took 5 minutes to research them they'd realise that they are supposed to represent the Northmen AND they're not like Greek Gods. The Greeks gave stuff like gold and silver to their Gods which as the Northmen only gave stuff like sacrifices AND the Northmen weren't as exotic in their riches as the Greeks so they would obviously associated their Gods differently and "peasant" like (because they represented their people). I feel bad for Loki dude almost losing his son

@@Shane-gg3hl I said almost
I mean he knew what was to come and such and still he did what he did…
Which considering that he is an “all seeing god” it is very contradictory.
Especially when you think of it this way… if fate was not meant to change then why did the fates allowed Odin to see it? That to me said how there was a chance to change it…
Among other things as Norse mythology is very complicated due to all the contradictions that exist and such.
Self fulfilling prophecy if you see every possibility but don’t believe your actions are wrong or bare responsibility for the bad out comes; it puts you in a spot where you can’t do anything about what’s coming your way.

Who else is concerned about how Fenrir is Loki's son and how he was conceived.
You should care more about Loki becoming a mare and giving birth than the wolf.

@@pythonking16.59 they want to copy God of War! I dislike them for that lol
So, here is the explanation
Loki, son of Laufy was born a frost giant.

There are a lot of Norse Pagans/Asatrurs/Heathens still out there, far more than you expect. But the Gods have a hard shell anyways so words don't impact them.
