@Ꮲ10-ᏒᎾᏁI slightly true but if you listen to when u fight Fenrir at the end of Asgard missions. He start speaking prophecies only Odin and the the spinners knew which suprises Odin and also confirms that he can never directly escape his fate. While yes his treatment of Fenrir is unjust and may be what ended up causing his doom, it was Loki that set these things in motion by bringing Fenrir into Asgard despite fully knowing of Odin's paranoia.

You know it's funny alot of these missions in the game are just retold stories of the myths. The story about the builder wanting Freyia for building the wall was one stories I read when I was young and in the story near the end Loki transforms himself into a female horse to distract the builder horse from finishing the wall, in turn Loki gets pregnant and gives birth to the eight legged horse Slepnir that will be gifted to Odin. The more you know.

I mean, they are retellings of what Isu gods did, in a way that Eivor can understand. It is weird enough to see two Isu gods give birth to a wolf, making Loki do the shapeshifting into a horse and getting impregnated by one would be waaay beyond the number of mushrooms Eivor has consumed, as much as it is mythology accurate. In the end Fenrir was most likely just a regular Isu child with form no different from how Odin, Loki, and everyone else looked.

What really gets me is kind of how all over the story is with a lot of the myths. Give the fact that Atreus is in fact Loki, Loki was responsible for many things including getting Thor's hammer, and Odin's spear made due to one of his notorious pranks. Plus in the myth, it was the World Serpent that would be the end of Thor when he kills it and it poisoned him during Ragnarok. Unless there's some time traveling involved where Loki and his wife goes back in time and become part of the Aaesir gods then I don't know what.

I love that they included the story of the builder. It’s one of my favorite stories in Norse mythology. The builder has a horse that helps him carry the rocks and supplies to build the wall the for the aesir. Because of the horse the builder is going to complete the wall in time to win Freyr, which makes the other aesir angry with Loki because he proposed the challenge to begin with. So Loki takes the form of a female horse to distract the horse and ends up impregnated by the horse. Loki ends up giving birth to an eight legged horse named Sleipnir which is the fastest horse in all of Asgard and he gifts the horse to Odin to please him since he almost cost him his wife with the challenge to the builder.

I mean you would think that they would have done a better job at preventing it, instead all they did was make it happen.... also in earlier versions of the myth it never said that Fenrir was bad, he was bound because the gods were afraid of his size and nothing more... it was when Fenrir was tricked and bound that Fenrir became “evil” (I say it in air quotes because I know anybody would have been furious and want revenge after being tricked and bound for god knows how long especially when you did nothing wrong..... I mean it’s like sentencing an innocent man to jail for years only to find out that the person was innocent and let out, I can guarantee you that that person is not going to be a happy camper when he/she gets out)

Especially when you think of it this way… if fate was not meant to change then why did the fates allowed Odin to see it? That to me said how there was a chance to change it…
Among other things as Norse mythology is very complicated due to all the contradictions that exist and such.

    • @Robb1977
      @Robb1977 2 года назад

They don't ask for anything. What was will be again, and you cannot break that.
But being truthful, the binding of fenrir wasn't a battle, and Fenrir wasn't tricked per se... he knew something was wrong, and that's why Tyr loses his hand.
Fenrir is the one who tries to manipulate fate. Because his bindings are non-existent, and therefore impossible to break. Fenrir is doomed to fight his gleipnir for eternity, and the world only ends when he finally wins a battle that physically cannot happen.
The world in norse mythology seems like it can never end... but yet they knew it would, and that when it did nothing can stop it.
Its not just charcaters and prose, it's metaphysics.

And becoming Loki, the god of illusions and tricks, and son of odin.
He can shapshift into anything alive, so his character design isn't to take only in consideration. Since he isn't godly.

Odin is stupid. In both version, Odin try to enchain Fenrir, which actually contribute to ragnarok. In both version too, it is said that Fenrir actually was friendly before being tied up gleipnir. If the all father would be less idiot, he would have a powerful friend with him. Paranoïa got the best of him.
Beside, if fate is truly inescapable, why bother trying to change it massively, while you could manipulate small detail? Perhaps his death in the myth by the hand of Fenrir would be less painful. Fenrir freeing himself is the start of ragnarok, but what if he was never enchained? Stupid Odin

Well that's the sole reason why it happened, Odin tried to escape that fate but ended up supporting it, that's how fate works. It's funny how people are confident in saying that my Gods are false and stupid but whenever someone doesn't capitalise the word "God" (Bible) everyone starts flabbergasting about it. There are a lot of Norse Pagans/Asatrurs/Heathens still out there, far more than you expect. But the Gods have a hard shell anyways so words don't impact them.

The Greeks gave stuff like gold and silver to their Gods which as the Northmen only gave stuff like sacrifices AND the Northmen weren't as exotic in their riches as the Greeks so they would obviously associated their Gods differently and "peasant" like (because they represented their people). @@thedarkapex5327 no but to me what really immerses one into a game is the characters and environment, and assassins creed has always been lacking in that department, all of the voice actors for characters other than the main ones are horrible sounding especially the kids, this one is personal but I just get annoyed of how in conversations with npc's they say on word in the og language and continue in english in odyssey it malaka that shit always annoyed me
TLDR: the AC games may have a lot of things in it but it doesnt feel to me like the game is really alive or immersive

@Lucca1988 Thats exactly the point of the story though. He was so desperate to change fate that he made it so. In the sense of AC Valhalla, if Havi and Loki had trust in the other, it would have been fine.

You also have RUclipsrs that literally hate on the game for the sake of it all for them juicy likes and attention because "Valhalla bad Ezio trilogy good haha people agree with me".
