- I know I promised I was planting on rows this year but.... hear me out first! If you are looking for "How to plant corn with a disc" you found the right video. Enjoy!
Note: I had a camera malfunction so the videos can be a little "jumpy" at times. I tried to fix that but I couldn't. To help, I did a lot more cutaway's. I'm just a guy with simple equipment, thanks for understanding.
Looking good. We just put 3 acres of sunflowers here at the house and this Friday we go to my buddies to put in 4 acres of sunflowers and 3 acres of corn. It’s a long day planting and then spraying but looks like rain this weekend which is perfect for the pre emergents.
Praying for some rain!!
Please, PLEASE, invest in a Solo 421 chest spreader..... I used to have the same Chapin you have in the video and I can't tell you how much the switch to a plastic hopper instead of the bag made... I assure you, it is worth the money!
Ive seen those! Admittedly, I dont do much bag spreading. Mostly use the PTO and my electric ATV but that is good to know! The bag can be a pain
Love it. I bet you have a banger of a season!
Controlled spillage works, I've done it for years. Thanks as always for the video.
Worked last year!
What brand pto spreader are you using with that little wheel agitator

It’s not a 100lbs per acre nitrogen it’s 100 units of nitrogen. You need 300 lbs of 34 0 0 to make 100 units per acre
I thought 1 lb was equal to one unit? Isn't every 100lbs of 34-0-0 (2 bags) 34lbs of Nitrogen ??
300 lbs of 34 0 0 is 102 units of nitrogen. You will need at least 100 units of nitrogen to make good corn. If I were you when the corn gets up 8” hit it with 100 more lbs then when it gets up to 20” hit it with another 100 lbs.
Preferably right before a rain
@@joshs4109 right, so I put out 250 pounds 34-0-0 on 3/4 acre, is that not right ? That’s roughly equivalent to 300 pounds on an acre
@@Yellowlab247_NC_Outdoors 200lbs an acre of 34-0-0 is 68 units of nitrogen per acre
