  • This film was made in November. We went looking for a bottle dump and found a new foreshore to explore. It is always fun finding somewhere new to mudlark. We found something that could be very old and very rare! Come along with us and see what we found...
We have a Ko-fi account, so if you wanted to support us by buying us a metaphorical cup of coffee it would be greatly appreciated xx

Looking forward to seeing your crafting projects. I'm currently sharing lockdown 3 with you from the North West of England. Lancashire to be more exact. I'm a long time doll collector, especially Ball Jointed Dolls (BJDS) So, I'm trying to keep my mind active, and my mood out of the doldrums, but, as you say, it's hard, this is the 3rd lockdown. As an Retired Nurse I understand why, however, as a Mother and a Daughter it's hard when I can't visit family. I love seeing you all together, it's lovely to see you share hobbies and have fun together. I love history, no matter how small, or battered by time, it once belonged to someone who lived so long ago. I always say, that the moment you find something and handle it, there's a connection across time. I think that's what drives us to find out who owned the relics, the bits and bobs, and the scraps we pick up. Just think, one day future larkers will be handling our stuff, I wonder what they will think of us?! I dread to think lol!!
I think Kates right, her tiny part of that badge does appear to be medieval. Once we beat this virus, if you take it along to the Museum, they will be able to match it up for you, and be able to give you more information about age, where its from etc... Take care, stay safe ❤️👍🤗

I too find it very hard to get motivated creatively during this time and struggle not to be depressed. It was wonderful to relax and watch as you had such fun treasure hunting. It brings so many folks happiness to see you all enjoying yourselves this way. I look forward to all of your video's. Just to hear Kate laugh or Fleur gasp in surprise, or see Oscar find a marble. It is all such a blessing to know there are folks like you enjoying wonderful adventures together and sharing your good times with us. Be safe, stay healthy, and may God bless you always.

Thank you, Ladies. Grateful you saved these larks to share with us at this time, strategically serving them up to us, as a sweet dessert. : ) Very exciting for you to find that Medieval badge, Kate. Though the finds were few, it is the quality, not quantity that wins in this hunt. I'm always amazed at how the shards of pottery usually frame an entire scene, as the choice shard you found.
Oscar sure was tickled at finding that perfect (1960s?) marble, as the screw-topped sauce bottle Harry found, most likely was. More than half a century is still pretty old to Oscar. Quite a selection of bonfire glass. You ever consider getting a small rock tumbler for smoothing out the rough edges of them and other pieces of glass that are nearly smooth and too pretty to chance leaving them behind? I found out, by an accidental spaghetti sauce spill, over the side of my stainless, copper clad bottomed pot, that any tomato based sauce will clean copper nicely. No need to run to the market for copper polish, even ketchup will do. The brass tag would be a nice, simple bracelet, by drilling a hole at the other end, bending it slightly, to form to wrist, fasten some copper wire (hammered/textured?) to one end, a hook and ring at the other, to fasten it together, give it a bit of a polish and Wah Lah! Always looking forward to more content from you. Hugs to you both and give Sunny a scratchin' from me.

Hi ladies, please don't despair, it will pass. Meantime, you have inspired me to take a wander onto the edge of local farmland and within the first 20 or so yards I found a Codd marble just sitting on the soil surface, amazing. I also picked up pieces of marmalade jar bases and intend to make a Frankenstein pot base for a candle. I've also found what I think might be wig curler pieces as well as a small perfume bottle and a glass stopper some yards away that fits it perfectly so very pleased with the items found in the space of an hour. We are very happy to watch you craft something in the absence of a walk ... it's all the same in terms of peace and inspiration. Keep up the good work, please. x

I keep looking at the sea urchin buttons. They could be rather old because the remind me of beads done by the Chumash Indians of California. Not saying you have Native Americans running around your shores, but they may have been made a long time ago. Food for thought.

Oh my goodness! The things you’ve found there I think most of us followers would be thrilled to find so don’t worry about “not finding much”. 😊 Bonfire glass is beautiful. Imagine a vase filled with bonfire glass and water.... It would be like a stained glass piece of art.
Chin up during this lockdown, it gives us more excuse to craft. You inspired me to try making a tiny rag doll (no mudlarking spots here that I can find so no dolls heads). I have completed my doll but I’m tearing my hair out because I have no idea how to make clothes for her! 😫 I hope one of your doll crafting videos, shows us how to make tiny clothes ☺️

We are not that great at making clothes we sort of make it up but I am thinking of maybe making `Fancy` a posh coat :)

@@MudlarkingWithKitCaboodlers You are much better than me! I’m sure you’d laugh if you saw how badly sewn my little doll is too! My Great Grandma was a seamstress and I’m sure she watches me in dismay 😅 I’m sure that your coat for Fancy will tun out beautiful as always. You could give her a parasol too maybe?

Yep, motivation is hard! But your videos brighten things up 💚 I found half a marble myself last week so yours was probably my favourite find in this video. So exciting to see the colours gleaming in the mud however bashed up they are. Stay safe.

Hi Fleur, Kate , Oscar, it’s only natural to feel at a loss on lockdown. But, chin up we are all in this together. I for one am not going anywhere. I love to watch you create, talk, brainstorm. It’s ok to not feel to creative. Maybe you can show us things laying around in your collections. It just might inspire you or maybe we can give you ideas once we see what you have on hand. One viewer mentioned Rocks Cousteau a dump digging, arrowhead hunting mostly marble digging fellow. His channel is very kid friendly he’s a nice guy. Stay positive, keep the Faith and have fun. Ha, ha. Could you hear me shouting take the nails, take the nails! Big juicy copper alloy nails.😁 Too bad you didn't have your scraper. Where you find lots metal there should be other exciting metal pieces. Maybe even coins or pins. Yet another satisfying video. Thank you for that. 💓

If you find some more nails square or copper and extra pins can you pick some up to sell? I would love to get some to make jewelry from. At the moment I am using horse shoe nails but I would love to use historical items for this. They don't even have to be particularly old.
