I'm shocked at how good the character designs look. It's cool to see the Simpsons in even a slightly more "realistic" style.
I believe a few of the original death note animators helped to fully capture the style

I can’t argue that the voices does make it sound more fan made then something official, cept for Steve oddly. It actually makes it a bit funny like a so bad it’s good English dub.

@@JakeYolk They are not the original animators, they are one of the companies that was hired in part of the animation, they were not in charge of the general animation nor did they have the artistic direction.
Probably for another anime parody. I’m guessing they’ll go for another anime that went mainstream, like Attack on Titan or My Hero Academia. Or maybe even something obscure depending on which weebs are working on the episodes…

Side note. This is the first time Fox aired somewhat of an anime since Fox Kids/Fox Box. Pretty cool.
They really need to bring cartoons back to network TV like they had back in the day.
The best part of all of this is The Simpsons horn looks just like a Japanese family home despite it being made clear throughout the series they’re the classic All-American family 😂

To their credit they still make it a Simpson Home. There's the painting of the boat.

If this was a full-on series and I'm talking like animation and all I totally would be watching this and then when it's over watch it again
This is seriously so much better than the current show. If they made some kind of anime reboot, I'm all for it.
But it would take so much time to develop and all! This whole short is under 8 minutes, a whole series with this quality would take quite a bit...
I know I’m a fan of anime, but it’s a point worth bringing up. Just to remember that this stuff isn’t easy and would take time.

Lisa is indeed a person who hates killing people on the surface, but actually writes a lot of names in Death Note.
After she killed Reaper, she had to replace Reaper. What a excellent ending it is.
Personally I thought that writing in the death note made your afterlife being a death god since it’s neither heaven nor hell

On the one hand, it is terrifying as these sociopaths can go on tormenting people.
On the other hand, in the context of the story it is kind of poetic that Light becomes the god he always wanted to be. Dark, but poetic.
Its like the story of a naive person and a robber baron. A robber barons cruelty and greed will eventually go away but a naive person’s cruelty will go on forever if they believe they are right.

Another reason is the voice actors are intentionally trying to talk like the Death Note English dub, you can compare how they talk here to the other segments or recent episodes. There's some intentional weirdness the VAs are tapping into to sound more like an anime dub.
That's actually his payback for blocking the sun and dressed Homer up as a panda to humiliate anyone in Springfield.

I am kind of a cynical Simpsons fan in regards to the new episodes... but this scene honestly made me laugh out loud.

Anime Marge looks incredible way better than her original Design
As a know it all vegan who thinks she knows better than everyone, this role fits Lisa like a glove.

Little refresher on how the actual death note works. Few rules from what I can remember since it's been so long.
1: a person's full name must be written in the notebook. No aliases allowed. In the event that the persons name and face do no match up, death will not occur.
2: if a cause of death is not written within thirty seconds after the writing of the name, the target will simply die of a heart attack.
3: users of the death note will not be allowed into heaven or hell when they die but will instead be sent to Purgatory. The realm in between heaven and hell.
That's all I can remember
I think they added the: "Each death must be different rule," in the Simpsons version. Let's be real, no matter how creative you are, you'd eventually run out of different ways to kill someone, meaning you wouldn't even be able to reach 500, or 1000, much less cleanse the entire world, bruh not even a quarter 🤣.

Like if you want to kill someone you have to earn it, think each kill through, think about which type of kill you might want to hang on to. If you waste heart attack for example. Now you've lost an indiscreet way of killing someone. Which will make planning stealth kills harder.

All the Characters looks perfect in anime, it was a natural transition. Lisa already had the pointy hair common in anime

This epidode created without Toei, Ghibli and other legendary anime-studios.

"The Treehouse of Horrors" has never really gone with the current stuff.
Many of the old Treehouse of Horrors parodied Twilight Zone Episodes which were made in the early 60s and parodied movies from decades past. This is nothing.
I appreciate the effort put into making this look decent, but man the voice actors/their directing is rough.
They sort of tried to make the dialogue patterns fit the more dramatic scenes, but the characters just sound soulless and wooden. Weird.

Whoa! "The Simpsons" characters actually look more human in this segment than Any other in the entire series. In Japanese/far-east animation, most characters look more human than in western animation. I wonder if "Family Guy" will try it at some point. DR Movie seemed best suited for this.
