Mr. Lawrence, is the line that is twisting on your spinning reel fluorocarbon line by chance? If so it tends to do what you’re describing. I prefer braid line myself. I use power pro and really like it for the increased sensitivity that you get from braid. You will need to use a Palomar knot when tying it though.
RA it was floracarbon, seagar lowviz, I ended up taking it off and I did install spiderwire braid with a 20ft flora leader...worked perfect. Casted out so far and smooth as silk so u r right about the braid, bothered me to deal with line that got so tangled so fast.
