Ireland is the most beautiful country I visited as a French girl, I saw the Conemara.... And Irish people are the most nice people I ever met in my life.... Go to Ireland, so crazy, love from France 🇫🇷🇮🇪❤️
Ireland is the most beautiful country of the world, and Irish people... Oh my God, the best of the world... I will never forget Ireland, never... I love you, Irish cou try and people, so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇫🇷🇮🇪
It's pretty funny that Sardou wrote this song without ever visiting Ireland! The song isn't known at all in Ireland and most Irish people find the lyrics pretty funny when they are translated. It's a fantastic song though, very catchy rhythm. I believe Sardou was awarded the freedom of Connemara a few years ago, the song boosted tourism in Galway a lot.
Sardou said they were with his musician and writers when one have done a sound looking for bagpipes sound with synthetizer. So they had the idea to create a song about celtic stuff, they have choosen ireland and just take name of irish location in a map.
It's a banger. I heard it completely out of context, with no social prompt environment, and it shook me to the core and made me want to shout, march, challenge the enemy. I absolutely loved it.
I didn't know all about this song. Thks. I teach French in Argentine, so my Emglish is not very well. Thnks again. I will teach about this information on my courses.
Un amigo francés me presentó esta canción y ahora mi sueño es ir a una fiesta en francia y que pasen esta canción, y cantarla a los gritos y bien alcoholizado. Gracias por el video!
I think this was the song that was hijacked by Fianna Fáil and Charles Haughey as a campaign song during one of the general elections, and FF had to withdraw it due to a legal challenge
You make too much of the fact that he has never been to Ireland. All his songs are great and he is in my opinion the greatest French singer-songwriter ever with probably the biggest range of topic of any song-writer yet you don't make a point of whether he has been to Lebanon or Russia despite his smash hits "Musulmanes" and "Vladimir Ilitch." The truth is that the only place he goes to in relation to that song is the bank because the truth is that why he and all other professional songsters write and perform for that same reason. The reason this song ends parties is because it is perfect for that with at 6+ minutes with it's long slow introduction breaking the previous mood stepping up to the main song bringing everyone together for one last fling and the long musical jig at the end with it's fade out being perfect for people to realise the lights have been turn up and there is no more music. If you make a compilation tape this song is greatest at the end.: a classis "Thank You And Good Night" record as indeed is this!:- ruclips.net/video/ykOAmepD2xI/видео.html

i see... or do I? :p Saying Sardou is best french singer ever is like saying Mad Andy is best commentator on youtube. I'm not saying the man is bad in anyway, although putting him so high on the french list is an enormous overstatement. Keep calm and don't feel the need to answer again ^^

I'm Irish, living in Belgium. This song has been played at every Belgian wedding that I have attended for 15 years.
I hope you enjoyed those moments ! Thanks for sharing :)
No way :) :) :)
@@nonododo9977 yeah it's basically a Belgian tradition where we play this song at parties and swing a white handkerchief in circles
You're not legally married if Les Lacs du Connemara is not played at your wedding !
