Great video! There is a local bizarre type mall that carries replicas by the box load, I mean you literally just dig through a box and get them for like $45. The bags do not come with a box, and the dust bags are made out of a thin sheer material. When I was younger my friends and I stayed in there trying to look stylist but was basically embarrassing ourselves. The bags would crack, peal, the zippers would snag and the straps would break easily. The purses were sooo hard and the canvas would barely stretch, but now the knock offs are getting so close. I always say if you want to be certain just purchase them from the company, just like makeup... I even purchased from Tradesy once and was sent a fake bag, I wrote this essay, lol, to say just be careful...

Thanks for filming this video. I only have one Louis piece and I am still learning more about them. Once you pointed out the details of the 2 pieces, I could really tell the difference. It is amazing how much difference there is in such a small item. The quality doesn't even compare. I see a lot of people saying they had a hard time telling the differences but you could clearly see them from the zipper. There was a huge difference in the 2 zippers. Also on the fake one, the canvas seemed "rippled". I don't know if that is the correct term or not but it wasn't stretched taut.
At first I thought, oh, the more worn one on the left is obviously the authentic one, since you've used yours and it should have signs of wear. But the wrinkly thin looking canvas and the loose zipper pull felt off. The LV zipper pulls are substantial, they wouldn't be swinging that much, so I changed my mind and settled on the right one being authentic. The authentic one looks pristine, I honestly thought it would show more signs of use. Great video Minnie :)

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that the Round Coin Purse (authentic) has no edge varnish at all because the canvas is folded over and stitched into the seam so the edge of the canvas is not exposed.

wow very informative. I thought it was just a older piece. Louis is always changing things. I know they have changed the Emilie wallet at least three times. the wallet that made me buy it, pocket was very long. when I purchased mine in 2015 it was shorter and my recent purchase in a different print is even shorter. you can't even see it unless you look inside of it versus just opening the wallet and I bought both of my Emilie wallets from the LV website😕

I am soooooo glad that you shared this. At first I thought that your friends coin purse was the in your right hand. Only because when you look at it, it is kind of pouching out from her using it. ( I am assuming) That and the fact that just from the few times I have seen yours even with coins inside it never looked like that. Then, you :O) you showed the zipper and even though yours looks so much more "expensive" (hope that doesn't sound snobby, but because it did go to the edge I thought wow, maybe I am wrong. Never knew that the LV doesn't go all the way to the end, so for that alone I am happy to know. I have been on a pre-loved buying kick lately, and there's been some people selling fake belts. Some I always report them, bit then I comment on their item and say something like, "hmmmm with the font of your shopping bag being very different, and the way the Os just aren't round, and how the TTs are touching, oh snd the words are stamped instead of being printed on your smooth box, it sure looks different with that weird colored dust bag, someone might think that is FAKE" then I love to watch how fast they delete my comment. Lol,this is what happens when you recover from surgery. You have time to troll thieves. I can't stand fakes, working at a high end brand myself, I find it completely unacceptable. Question...I never knew that LV put the dates inside of the bags. I only have 4 and I searched in two of them and I couldn't find the dates. Maybe you can help me. I have the Speedy 40 about 6 years old, zippy organizer wallet also about 6 years old, the Galliera GM ( I think, it's the largest one) also about 6 years old and a wallet that I have no idea what the name is; it's about 15 years old... It looks like the Alexandra wallet on the outside but checkbook size and the inside is totally different. All in the original monogram brown canvas. I know they're all real because I have the receipts on three which were gifts and the other one I purchased myself. Please help 💜

When I bought my first one it was off Poshmark and they offer concierge service to make sure it's authentic. My second purchase which was the Neverfull I bought directly from LV website and my third one slg was purchased from LV website. I just prefer to buy them directly from LV that's just my preference!

Okay, so ordered a monogram cles from Fashionphile and because the flowers/seams didn't line up perfectly, I thought it might be a replica. Now I know it was probably authentic, but didn't want to have any doubt. Returned it. So I ordered one from LV and requested gift wrapping. Not only was it not gift wrapped, the pouch looked the same as the one I returned to Fashionphile. Called LV and was told that it is a myth that the flowers/seams will always line up perfectly! They did offer to mail me a leather cord for the box. So disappointed in the quality. Price difference btwn Fashionphile and LV was about $45.00.
True. I basically paid $45 more for peace of mind and the same quality(and a newer item). The rep did suggest I could go to my local boutique and exchange it. As exchanging via courier could result in the same mismatched seams.
it's crazy how much you pay attention to the details. My guess was right but I wouldn't know if it's right if you didn't tell us because they look somewhat identical and tally hard to tell

I have a vintage LV (20+ years old) and there isn't too much of an indentation of the stamping. Not too sure what you're really talking about with the indent but the print color definitely has worn off some. (looks grey)
Omg Minnie the wallets like Josephine and Emily are being replicated with the made in Spain stamp which I find crazy! The only way to tell is by the date code and the stamping if it's really indented or not . The date code they use on the replica wallets are mostly mi lol and it would say made in Spain
So I was able to guess the correct one. However, DANG... This was such a "great" replica!! This is why I'm so terrified to buy from anywhere but the LV store. Shame since sometimes you can find a great deal on certain second hand websites. I'm so Purpletastic in finding your channel. I love, love, love everything about your videos. I've been overdosing on all of your Louis Vuitton knowledge that you're dropping on us! Question...I never knew that LV put the dates inside of the bags. I only have 4 and I searched in two of them and I couldn't find the dates. Maybe you can help me. I have the Speedy 40 about 6 years old, zippy organizer wallet also about 6 years old, the Galliera GM ( I think, it's the largest one) also about 6 years old and a wallet that I have no idea what the name is; it's about 15 years old... It looks like the Alexandra wallet on the outside but checkbook size and the inside is totally different. All in the original monogram brown canvas. I know they're all real because I have the receipts on three which were gifts and the other one I purchased myself. Please help 💜

When I bought my first one it was off Poshmark and they offer concierge service to make sure it's authentic. My second purchase which was the Neverfull I bought directly from LV website and my third one slg was purchased from LV website. I just prefer to buy them directly from LV that's just my preference!

You're not saving that much for pre loved anyway I rather buy brand spanking new at the LV store ! But that's just my opinion ! This way you KNOW it's AUTHENTIC !!!!! But damn the replica did look good ! I did see the slight difference but it wasn't huge! To each there own! Some people can't afford the real deal ! So they choose the replica . Okay, so ordered a monogram cles from Fashionphile and because the flowers/seams didn't line up perfectly, I thought it might be a replica. Now I know it was probably authentic, but didn't want to have any doubt. Returned it. So I ordered one from LV and requested gift wrapping. Not only was it not gift wrapped, the pouch looked the same as the one I returned to Fashionphile. Called LV and was told that it is a myth that the flowers/seams will always line up perfectly! They did offer to mail me a leather cord for the box. So disappointed in the quality. Price difference btwn Fashionphile and LV was about $45.00.

True. I basically paid $45 more for peace of mind and the same quality(and a newer item). The rep did suggest I could go to my local boutique and exchange it. As exchanging via courier could result in the same mismatched seams.

I have a vintage LV (20+ years old) and there isn't too much of an indentation of the stamping. Not too sure what you're really talking about with the indent but the print color definitely has worn off some. (looks grey)

Omg Minnie the wallets like Josephine and Emily are being replicated with the made in Spain stamp which I find crazy! The only way to tell is by the date code and the stamping if it's really indented or not . The date code they use on the replica wallets are mostly mi lol and it would say made in Spain
We just have to educate ourselves on date code in all the brands we like I guess.
