God I LOVE how it turns your deck into a boss fight! It does seem to have good logic for choosing enemies to supplement the characters. The fact that they keep charms is SO DAMN SCARY
it's only charms on companions, and they seem to about double in power most of the time it also doesn't seem to count any companions in reserve the game seems to heavily incentive you to bench people you don't need at the end (like tusk and the shield dude weren't really counting for much damage at the end nor being used to absorb hits as summons were usually brought out for that) and use charms predominately on spells since you can repeatedly use them (and cycle for ones you want/need) the boosting to the charm system actually makes it a terrible thing, as it means that it is really...really easy to softlock (or potentially hardlock depending on how the game handles losses) had retro applied any more charms to the bush the next game would be effectively impossible without a perfect run, there is even real potential to boost your hero too far with charms and create the same impossible to fight boss
@@death299 Hmmm, kinda seems like they need to add some kind of 'hey you tried 3 times, do you wanna default back to the placeholder boss?' mechanic if they don't already. Thinking about ways you could dismantle your old deck certainly is cool, but I agree that being punished for setting up a cool combo or unit heavy deck could definitely kill some of the fun - getting crazy out of control combos is kind of the whole point of games like this.
@@Pixie1001. So far I haven't had any big issues with this, lost the the ascended boss once and it was my fault. The enemies don't have the tools to play out the combos the way a player can, and the player has opportunities to target the key parts of combos. It may end up being an issue at some point but I'm okay with that since when it works well its something supercool that I've never seen in a roguelike
@@echiko4932 meh i don't think that's the case, excluding the companions that were part of the previous run like snoof. The mega mimik and ice forge and that goat dude who applies demonize were all present during the first boss fight too, and none of them have to do with healing nor overburn nor aimless nor summoning. *Edit* nvm i'm fucking stupid, the goat guy with demonize and the mega mimik were from the previous run where he had the goat totem and the regular mimik.
Zay'oon! You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the Frost Guardian, not join them! Bring balance to the Wildfrost... not leave it in darkness!
I'm loving this! The art style is great and the gameplay looks very solid, plus the boss becoming you is such a deviously fun mechanic that makes future runs very interesting. Would absolutely love if this continues as a series!
Lots of games I'm playing getting love as I play them on this channel. Gotta say, you're a lot better at this game than I am. I struggled to get a single clear, and truly no idea how I'm going to beat the monster I've created to gatekeep me now.
This is a really good twist on the roguelike cardgame genre, because it's also kinda autobattler! Also, comment for the algorithm, I want more of this :)
I'm going through some depressing and heavyl iife stuff, and this series has been one of the few things I look forward to when thinking about passage of time. Please continue and maybe drink some tea to upload 2ce a cooldown idk
this seems pretty awesome! I think that you will be able to beat the final boss by just hard selling into an overburn build with noomlin or crowned cards instantly ready to play. There are also spice builds that could give you a leg up in terms of just straight up raw damage. Seem like those two builds could help out immensely.
Makes me sad for our heroes. Either they die in their expedition, or win but turn into evil creatures themselves. Despite its cute artstyle this game is surprisingly dark, damn. (At least in Darkest Dungeon, your characters stayed humans/themselves to the end, but not here.) Hope we'll get some form of definitive ending where you can look back on all of your parties, finally being free of whatever is going on at the last stage. Apart from that, you're a great player and it's a joy to watch you elaborating your strategies.
Seeing dried blood of your allies or enemies splashed on your cards is...just wow, they have that visual mechanic, and at the same time a few dozen cute anime catgirls, devs knew what they were doing
I got an insane run going with a noomlin jun jun that I duped twice and I had a hero that summoned that shade with barrage so it was an insane run of barely ever placing characters that I managed to throw with spikes shenanigans Edit:got the gimmick again first run of the day lol free cannon fodder with multiple sacrifice cards can do a hell of a lot of damage and I'm on the final boss for the first time Edit2:I just realized I have the same characters has the video only difference in characters is the hero who summons beebop (the shade with one health which when killed applies 4 overburn to the attacker)
These are my first videos of yours I’ve watched and are you just really good at these deck builders bc I’m 30 runs in an no win. These videos help a lot but I’m trying to get better at prioritization and slow down a bit each turn.
Amazing game! Just started playing today. I have had some succes with Taiga, Tusk and shade clay on the battlefield. Teeth damage can be insane, especially if you copy teeth based cards with shade clay!
Seeing how all the stats got buffed on the previous squad and they retained the Charms when they became boss posse I was looking forward to how ridiculous Booshoo was to become. I am not disappointed, forget Zayoon, Booshoo is the real boss.
yes and no. this boss fight was easier than the last one, and the next one is going to be crazy difficult since bush has to die first and fast (and/or be locked down constantly) if you're not careful about benching companions or using nerf charms (which if you don't need them should happen before the final fight,as benched heros don't transfer over and assuming all charms are doubled and not just the postive ones could/should result in an actively weaker boss) and how powerful any individual unit is made via the use of charms you can run into serious difficulties on the other hand you can apply alot of charms to spells and other attacks that are you rather than the companions/leader which don't carry over (but are extremely strong in their own right, like soulburn/bomb combo, or free/health/summon cards) which don't carry over and will leave a relatively weak enemy being faced..albeit you're technically weaker and have to rely on buff scaling to hit the same levels as charms you can either make the boss much harder or much easier on yourself depending on how you decide to build with minimal effect on difficulty of the run itself that said...you can also rather clearly stack charms to a degree that you can lock the game
So from what i saw, th egg would've been a better option considering even if he gets overkilled the summoned creature after its death would've spawned, + Tusk's spikes at least early, since Taiga with the berrry hp boost slowly became even better st counter tanking
Apologies on the late uploads today, processing took like 4 times longer than normal!
dude you’re like the only consistent guy to watch these days you’re good
I think it is not a problem we are just so grateful for the new episode of rougelike game ❤🎉

You just had to play some more, we understand ;)
Even the interface looks different when you use one of the tribes, such nice details all over the place
OMG how did I miss this!
@@goatlioussame here and I’ve won 3 runs 😂

I think the mini monsters that join the wave are based on spells. He had frost, overburn, aimless summon and heals.

The fact that you have a win streak of 2 with only playing twice is so impressive!!! I love this series!
considering the vast majority of everyone that played this so far could not get past King Moko and he already won twice is indeed rather impressive
@@QuickSilverKitsune he lost the tutorial run which is in general set up for a loss (by the simple fact you dont know what is happening) but yeah

OMG New episode my favorite game thx . I can't wait to watch the brand new episode of this series from you. 😊😀👍
First time viewer (as of last video) and I am LOVING your playthrough of this!
I'm so glad this is becoming a series it's such a cool game
46:00 the overburn on the pombomb makes it infinitely better because it would bo longer deactivate itself

That's true, even in the bleakest moment of Darkest Dungeon most of the characters stand firm and choose to be heroic. "Spare the others, i am ready"

Love this game, cant wait for it to come out. Been waiting for ages for a new deck builder to rival slay the spire for my itch, cant wait.
@46:00 Putting the charm on the Pombomb would have been entirely nutty for clearing a board.
This deck builder seems really good. More please 😮
Id love to see more of this, this is amazing
Cannot wait to play this!!!

The fact that you can get an op leader win a run then in a future run the game can go "Let's see how you like it" is hilarious to me
I continue living to try out this game when It comes out
Excited to see more!
The overburn charm on the pombomb would be nutty.
Gonna have to do a build around to beat that crazy party
Really enjoying, hope it pans out that you can continue this one.

Super fun looking game! Excited to see more of it.
Love this series, can’t wait to see more
Nice, loving this new series, can't wait to buy the game.
Aimless is on the line, if there is only one ally on that line, he is the one who will take the damage
Another temporary addiction to watch
Ngl I should maybe buy this one even
I would really love to see more of this game.
Love the series!
Thanks for the video!
I love your energy and enthusiasm, but i cry over some of your plays
Im loving this series, keep it uP!
i hope this becomes a series
Some fun to watch, brudda
Thank you for recommending this at the end of brotato.
This gives me those nice warm slay the spire feels I love it
I wonder - would the doot doot trigger smackback? That would make it worthwhile for this hero.
I love this gameee
read the aimless description.
hits in a row brotha.
Gosh, I really hate doing this thing with my fingers! The bones Reto! THE BONES D:
Idk what RUclips considers as keywords, but nevertheless, I love the content!! >..
Is this available in the demo or is it early access to the full game?
Please more!❤
I just realized that Chikichi and the ones after it all are have the japanese words for 1,2,3,4 and 5
lOVE THIS SO MUCH
Love this!
hopefully the backseating isn't too bad on this game. cause its really cool. and i like watching you play it.
Yaaaaay, this game is awesome!
You need a direct damage build to counter this one for next time 😅
Curious if you can reset the final boss to the original frost guardian
Yooo idk how good it would be, but the charm to replace attack with deal overburn to the bomb would be kinda interesting
Was quite fun to watch and I agree this class felt much easier tho I could see it going badly as well XD
game looks really cool
is there a demo I could try or would I have to buy the game?
Wouldn't overburn on the bomb be op since you aren't damaging the so you can keep playing bombs
Boss fight IS you! Uh oh! Does that mean the final boss fights are going to get harder and harder every time?
yes and no.
this boss fight was easier than the last one, and the next one is going to be crazy difficult since bush has to die first and fast (and/or be locked down constantly)
if you're not careful about benching companions or using nerf charms (which if you don't need them should happen before the final fight,as benched heros don't transfer over and assuming all charms are doubled and not just the postive ones could/should result in an actively weaker boss) and how powerful any individual unit is made via the use of charms you can run into serious difficulties
on the other hand you can apply alot of charms to spells and other attacks that are you rather than the companions/leader which don't carry over (but are extremely strong in their own right, like soulburn/bomb combo, or free/health/summon cards) which don't carry over and will leave a relatively weak enemy being faced..albeit you're technically weaker and have to rely on buff scaling to hit the same levels as charms
you can either make the boss much harder or much easier on yourself depending on how you decide to build with minimal effect on difficulty of the run itself
that said...you can also rather clearly stack charms to a degree that you can lock the game
yeah, i don't think i'll ever see you defeat this Zay'oon
love the game play
Loved booshu during beta, only when he had balanced charm.
So from what i saw, th egg would've been a better option considering even if he gets overkilled the summoned creature after its death would've spawned, + Tusk's spikes at least early, since Taiga with the berrry hp boost slowly became even better st counter tanking

MORE!!!

Oh no
Winning has consequences
A new series?
What could happen if Wolly Drek ate the boss?
Leaving a comment for the youtube algorithm :)
Enjoyed
i think you might like wall world if you haven't checked it out
That next boss fight looks absolutely dreadful. Looking forward to seeing what strategy you come up with!
Dont worry retro rt alr tried out the soulbound and died
more please
dope game
If you battle axed the ice box it would have killed it with two sources of damage
Is the meta for this game going to be making your hero and companions complete doodoo and only putting charms on the other cards in your deck?
your next run is going to be a nightmare
We made the best team and that was the worst thing we could have done.
