It seems that Re: Zero has the tendency to skim on most of the fights in order to make room for the story. That's not necessarily a bad thing but it does mean we don't get to see a lot of the more intense action scenes. So let's take a look at how exactly Elsa vs. Garfiel was supposed to be like!

ReZero was never well known for awesome fight scenes. ofc the fights are intense but WhiteFox isnt known for god-tier animations. So considering they'Re working their asses off for 30 min episodes every week to give us as much of the story as they can, I dont mind them skimming the fights like this.
I'm pretty sure Season 1 would disagree with you, Season 2 a lot of the animators with WhiteFox who worked on the fight scenes left to do other work.
You realise they don't produce the episodes weekly right? They're still working their asses off to make this anime but it's no where near an episode per week
@@voice-less yeah ofc. They have to plan out what they are going to animate to reach the intended finish for this seasons adaptation. Episodes usually have 24 min runtime with 3-4 min OP + ED, so a runtime of 20 min. comparing that to ReZero, which does 30 min (no OP, ED) almost every week, they're putting a lot more effort into this, than your generic weekly anime.
What Im saying is , I prefer it that they prioritize story/character-building over cool fighting scenes. If i wanna watch awesome fight-Sakuga I go and watch Jujutsu Kaisen or Fate or something.
@@MimicAraiun While the animations for ReZEro were never bad, and always stayed consistant, which is commendable, this show is still more focused on Character-drama and storytelling. Its not Fate or Jujutsu Kaisen, which have more streamlined characters but breathtaking visuals.
Yeah I've been blown away by how pack full of content the episodes have been.
I like these cut content videos because they act like a refresher of sorts before new episode comes out every week.

I mean if you reread the chapters with the Guiltylaw you'll find that most of its sneakiness comes when it's searching or waiting to pounce however when it was facing it's prey head-on it roared to scare it.
Garfeld vs Elsa is one of underrated fights in Re Zero. Reason being that they are equally strong and matched. Garfield also had just turned into good guy, so its one of those "when the enemy becomes your friend" moment.
This week's episode would be epic!!!

People need to stop doubting what studio white fox is capable of. Every frame of animation that that took place between Elsa and Garfiel's fight she was constantly smiling loving every minute even when it was going to fast to follow i paused through a few scenes and still she's smiling through it all lol the detail
I mean the fight scenes and strategies that are being shown are still very good so it doesn't matter too much that they skim them ,still nice to know the details of what happens tho

With how the plot suffered in S1, it makes sense that they chose to highlight plot this time around.

Well most of people in my friendzone actually liked S2 more, I guess it depends. For me both seasons were masterpiece I can't choose😆
It suffered in plot but was by no means bad. Just like in Ani’s point, the fights suffered in S2 in comparison, but the plot development is amazing. Still my favorite show by far.
Rezero Season 2 was really good and Whitefox put a lot of effort into it. Unfortunately, the adaptation for S1 was so much better due to their lack of staff right now. S2 is really long and they cut out A LOT, like, really important stuff. I would give the S1 adaptation an 8/10 while the S2 adaptation a 6/10. In the web novel they're both 10/10s. I don't really blame whitefox because Arc 4 is really hard to adapt, but this adaptation could've been a 10/10 if they weren't understaffed/ if they had a few more episodes to work with.There are also a few cuts that easily could've made that episode a lot better. For example, how Subaru escaped the rabbits in episode 11, and the big reveal in episode 13.

Choose me won't be till week Wednesday, it happens in chapter 7 of volume 15 the light novel while the anime is adapted chapter 1, 2, and parts of 3.
Tomorrow's episode should be the 3rd trial and the mansion stuff, i am thinking chapters 3, 4 and 5, with next episode adapting 6 and 7.
But yea it should be received well, but i have seen people complaining about the dialogue this season, so idk how anime onlys will take it.

I really wanted to see Garfield being dragged by the carriage on the way to the mansion. That conversation was really funny, the reverse forenkazan I think it was called.

I might have missed something, but... I always wandered why Subaru did not just tell Beatrice that he spoke to Echidna. I'm not saying to outright tell her that all those 400 years were just a stupid experiment, but it might have made her listen to what he had to tell. Maybe something like "Your mother wishes for you to choose on your own, who THAT person is."
Meili and Petra is finally reunited! However since Petra now has a job working as a maid she doesn't have time to play.
Poor Meili, she just wants to show them her pets like that one dog she had on Season 1.

Oh man, I’m so split on that last comment. Yes, story is so important but watching the manga come to life is why we are here, so big fight scenes are a must. I wish they could do both but I understand money & time are limited. Also the poor creators are worked to death already.

Tbh, I’m disappointed by how the series was handled KADOKAWA and WF. I wish WF gave it more love and spent more time on it And actually started production way earlier. I don’t mind cut content as every novel series turned to show/movie (even manga adaptations have cut content and at times are horribly adapted with original stuff) has it, but I wish the series could have compensated in a way. I also despite how yen press is so behind in translating the novels. They better pick up the pace now, it’s horrendous they’re only releasing the LNs to coincide w/ the anime when the translations should have been released years ago.

He wants her to be free from the promise
if you watch Re:zero enough, you will understand the author is trying to say: if breaking promise is a way of loving you, I would rather do it. It is the same for Beatrice and Amelia as well

It is unfortunate that most of the action couldn't make it into the anime, though my main criticism for the last few episodes is that they switch back and forth from Emilia's trial to Subaru's plan to Roswaal vs Ram battle then Emilia again... I get it that a lot of things are happening at the same time and we just get a few more episodes but just when I'm getting immersed in one side of the events, we get a flashback or switch to other characters.
Maybe it's because this season I'm watching these cut content videos, if I was 100% anime only maybe I wouldn't mind. I just hope we get an amazing ending this season, I trust that the plot won't be rushed. (We only have 3 episodes left and what is going to happen to the damn rabbits?!)

Wait so now that we’re at this point then what was that noise we heard when Garfield rampaged and chased Subaru out of the sanctuary’s barrier? I remember you stated that we would assume his soul left his body but here we see him outside all fine. Does that mean that wasn’t him falling? Was it something else? If so what was it? Why put that in the show and not explain for people to be confused when we get to him leaving? Was that actually him? Does changing form alter your blood as well? Is the barrier only sensitive to a % amount of beast people genes in an organism and not blood? I don’t sleep I need ANSWERS!

@@User-he6zd Remember that ep 23 and ep 22 are 2 different episodes. Ep 23's action is great, ep 22's action is lackluster. Garfield vs Elsa was also very epic before the mansion set on fire. Also the Mabeast that guard the exit also portrayed as an absolute chump in the anime.

Will Elsa reappear somehow? Just thinking her instant healing ability seems like something out of such stories where the mutated being can reform as long as any cells are staying around. One could assume if there is fire at the mansion that fire could prevent that from happening.
