Looks like the perfect DMR rifle for the Army. Light enough to carry and clear buildings with your squad, and accurate enough to engage targets at 600+.
Yeah, it would be cool if the Army would create a contract for a rifle like this G28/417 to kinda bridge a gap between an M4A1 and the current KAC M110’s. They could even call it an M110A1 SDMR and put some type of LPVO on it. Easier to carry than the KAC M110 and better suited for close distances, but still have the longer range capability and lethality with the 7.62 NATO cartridge.
Wheelchair Operator Hey correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the Army actually contracted these and started fielding them last month for their DMRs. I just read it’s going to replace the M14 and M110 which is freaking awesome! 16 inch barrel, 8 lbs, and doesn’t have that ridiculously long suppressor that the M110 has that makes you stick out like a sore thumb 😂.
Kyle Smith I thought your first comment was you just goofing around since the HK won the Army contract for the new M110A1 CSASS program and decided to order nearly 6,000 of these rifles with all the exact accessories as seen in the video. Haha.
This isn’t my build, but Andrew Kratz does a perfect “Tanodized RAL8000” cerakote job that he formulated himself. I can send you his email if you’re interested in having it done.
@@WheelchairOperator wow thats a big difference, do you know by any chance if its been easier to get the parts that weren’t available on the civilian market/ have the parts been sold now?
@@fill5897 it depends on what you consider easy to get. Neither the M110 or M110A1 are really easy to source parts to build right now, but I would say the KAC M110 would be slightly easier seeing as how the proper Geissele 417 rail is nearly impossible to get these days. If you’re wanting to build, easiest way would be to fins a used KAC ECR and convert it to M110. Pre Sample Depot can help you out with that.
Keagan Knowles This isn’t my rifle, but I know for a fact that @gunsnmammons sourced all of these parts individually and some were extremely difficult to find as said parts weren’t sold to the commercial / civilian market.

Just now seeing this video! Really cool to meet you and the other guys! Stoked for CS2021
gunsnmammons Likewise man. I’ll be there next year.
Awesome display of that HK. Def would love to try one of these once all this craziness is over.
MMA Hype Watch If you’re into building clones and a cool dude, I might see you at Clone Shoot 2021 if you get invited! 🤘🏼
@@WheelchairOperator even if I don't get invited. It would still be cool to see a vid of the show 😁
MMA Hype Watch Hopefully by next year I’ll make sure I charge my phone so I can actually record some more content! Haha
@@WheelchairOperator More content! =D On stand-by for it!
would love to hear that in a solo shooter environment with sub sonic ammo
Same. I agree. Check out gunsnmammons RUclips channel. He’s the owner of this rifle.
That clone shoot looks fun. I just completed a G28 clone and it would be great to join you guys sometime.
That’s awesome, man! Also, there’s always next year!
Where did you get the receiver cerakote done?

What is the weight comparison between the KAC M110 and HK M110A1?
From the internet:
KAC M110 = 14lbs
HK M110A1 SDMR = 8.8lbs
I would assume these weights are unloaded, without suppressors, etc.
@@WheelchairOperator ok thanks

We’re you able to find a RAL dust cover or did you Cerakote the original one? Last piece I need for my SDMR build
Haven’t found a RAL8000 yet. Probably going to have a standard one cerakoted in RAL8000 so I don’t have to wait any longer.
So you had to buy all these specific parts to make it look like the ones the army use? Or do they not sell the ones that army use

What color this the buffer tube?
It’s a color called RAL8000
@@WheelchairOperator I got a G28 Stock kit in Ral8000, but the tube looks not the same as the one in the video.
@@shawnm7925 Dang. I’m sorry man. For what it’s worth; It’s anodizing, so no two batches are identical.
Hey man I know this video is months old but what glass are you running on this?
GimpGunfighter This is a friend’s rifle, but the optic is the military Sig Sauer TANGO 6 that was made specifically for the M110A1 SDMR platform.
Yeah, the guy shooting at 1:49 is not having a proper grip :D
