This was shot in 1989 or early 1990. All the movie posters are for 1989 releases. BTTF 2, Always, The Wizard, etc. Cool to see courthouse square still dressed for 2015 Hill Valley.
What a time to be alive! So jealous you got to see back to the future part 2 court house in real life! I've done the VIP tour like 4 times and you got to see 1000x more in your tour than I ever did in my 4 VIP tours. I still have never seen court house square 😭
WOW! I remember the Battlestar Galactica ship and the tram plaza where you would take a brief break and try to lift up the A-Team van after getting a snack. Thank you for the memories!
I went on the tour at this time right as they were filming back to the Future 2 and got to see the full Hill Valley set along with all the future cars!😉
Brings back memories. Great video, but it’s definitely not 1985. Filming began for back to the future 2 in 1989. Also, she mentioned the cabin from the great outdoors which was released in ‘88.
The BTTF 2 set _with_ cars was amazing!! Great footage. Could it have been 85 though? I thought number 2 wasnt filmed till later... maybe this was before it was filmed? Anyway, great footage. Thanks for sharing, what a treat.
@@PiperSparkles Filming for Part II began February 1989 according to Wikipedia. They could have prepared the set before then. When I visited on August 25, 1989 the clock had been removed.
@@ts214121 In 1985 the first film would have still been in it's theatrical run. There wasn't a sequel planned let alone announced until the first film's VHS release in May of 1986. There is no possible way they would've been constructing sets before preproduction even began. Also, The King Kong Encounter didn't open as part of the tram tour until June of 1986 and Uncle Buck wasn't released until August of 1989. Uncle Buck started filming in January of 1989 so there is no possible way for this video to be from any earlier than 1989 based on several things in it that date it to that year.
@@PiperSparkles Do you know what part of this video has the Uncle Buck location? I don't think my posted video has it from August 25, 1989, but I'll take a look. I didn't record everything. Do you know if that Back to the Future II set was removed?

Hi @The Vintage Lens - Thanks for sharing this footage! I'm putting together a youtube video about the history of Universal Hollywood - Would it be possible to include a couple clips of your video (with credit)?

The Battle of Galactica spaceship was demolished in 1992 in order to construct the building that occupied the Back To The Future ride (which in turn was replaced by the Simpsons ride).
These were the years I went.
I was raised only a few hours away.
Junior high school.
Thanks for the memories!

From the late 70s to around 1992 Universal was the most amazing place to go. #Classicera
Once they got rid of The Battle Of Galactica and The Adventures Of Conan, it wasn't as good for me.
Thank you for the journey down memory lane! I took this same tour as a kid and now I can share it with my kids. Universal was amazing back then!
I remember taking a picture inside K.I.T.T. and lifting the van back in the 80's when I was in elementary school. Good times.

I was only 5 when I went on this in 1989 and saw King Kong. scared the crap out of me but I treasure it and am grateful I got to see it in it's prime
37 YEARS LATER AND THE TOUR IS STILL ALMOST IDENTICAL.
Your caps lock is stuck and No, it isn't the same.
What happened to the glamor trams now its the other tram. Ohhhhhh wait they bad both running that day epic I was born in 1985 amazing
Those we're the good ol days
Great movie
Very cool video! Love the BTTF stuff

There is no possible way this was 1985. It was 1988 at the earliest. Part II was released November 22, 1989.

Do you remember the banana breath from Kong?

I wonder if the Galactica stuff is the same building on the tour where now it’s supposed to be a subway that floods.

On the jaws ride I don't think it looks like 1985 because I watched a video in 1985 and it looks way different
The put year wrong is not in 1985 is 1989 or 1990
Right, most likely 1989.
