Was it a device issue? I ordered one and keep hearing people having issues straight out of the box and anbernic not really having customer service, was pretty easy to get on there website also
For sure! I appreciate that. I saw your comment right as I started wrapping up recording this video's editing, and wanted to include if mine was affected or not.
So many reviews of this feel overly positive and don't really take a deep look, you can tell it's rushed out to maybe make a buck and stay on side with the manufacturer. In your video it is refreshingly not like this at all! Good stuff. I appreciate in depth looks and even if that dpad issue was only on your unit it's still worth a mention as it reflects on quality control
Man you really have them all, even the Analogue Pocket and the Playdate. I'm jealous. :P Thanks for the comparisons. By the way: Do games on the RG353V share the same savegame across Linux and Android or are those two "separated worlds"?
Thanks man! Haha, I have a few of these things now. Good reminder for me to do more content on the Pocket and Playdate! For save games, they live in separate worlds by default, but, if you're using RetroArch as your main emulator on both sides, you could set the same save game directories (on the SD card) and they should be compatible. This may be a nice thing to include in the full review or tutorial vid. 🙂
@@retrohandhelds It's definitely something I'm pretty interested in. I also did this on my hacked Nintendo Switch where I pointed the Switchroot Android RetroArch directory settings to the same folder I'm using in the Switch's main OS' (Horizon) RetroArch version. So even if it's not set that way by default on the RG353V, it's nice to know at least both systems can access each other's filesystem. At least that's what it sounds like what you just wrote. :) Many people are not even aware of such possibilites so if you're about to do a review or tut you should indeed include it. Also yeah, more content on the Pocket and the Playdate is always nice. Especially since cores for the Pocket are dropping every week currently and there's a ton of great indie games for the Playdate on itchio to explore. :)
I have the same d-pad issues on my RG353P, I opened it and it is the d-pad that has too little pivot, Anbernic sent me a new d-pad and I'm waiting for it :)
Barely a minute in and I love transparent devices, although I haven't bought one in a while, but those shells on the Miyoo Mini and RG353V look superb! Ok going back to watching more of this video...
I just bought one, I'm anxious to have it. I have already a powkiddy rgb20s and I'm playing some N64 and PSP fairly well, but I don't want them to start failing later. I ordered the white one so it matches with my miyoo mini. It says it launches on October 15th, so who knows when I'm going to receive mine 😅 although I'm a bit disappointed that it doesn't run GameCube. Tbh I'm more after zelda's games, grom SNES to GC.
Hey retro handheld! Got a couple of questions. 1 does the systemnget hot with extended play? Could you show the fps foenthe most demanding dreamcast ganes like dead or alive 2? Thanks
Is your screen alignment off? Not sure how you can tell with the black border but I saw RG Handhelds and his one without the black border is rotated...
Nice vidéo ! Got the rg353v too and it's overall a good handheld to me :) no issue with D-Pad, but L/R shoulders are kinda cheap to me, loose and noisy If big hands, might hurt your hands after few hours also
What happened? I just got mine all dialed in and the next step is connecting it to the TV. Everything I read says it should be plugged in and unplugged while off.
@@xxobitoxx3277 For sure. Yeah, it can be annoying when they don't include it. Technically they are doing this correctly though, as they would need to go through full Google certification as I understand it. In its absence, you would just sideload the APK's packages you want. It hasn't been a dealbreaker for me *so far*.
Update on Dpad: RGC and Phawx didn't have the navigation issues I was having, might just be my unit🤞
Where can one get this device with 256 g of space and 35k games,?

Loved the comparison Stubbs, good to have an idea of the size. Also, love the comments, you're so charismatic.
Aw thanks man! More to come..
For some unknown reason I want this device 🙏🏽 I've got most of the powkiddy, Anbernic handheld devices 🙏🏽👍🏾
Thanks for addressing the pixel issue! Appreciate that, gotta subscribe :D

want one for metal slug! loved that game and on a retro handheld would feel so cool

Aw, awesome, yeah the transparent style is growing on me!
Does this support GameCube games and how many n64 games does this have?
Unknown fighting game is Street fighter 3, c'mon
Gold star! ⭐
Does this have a sleep mode? Asking for both the Linux and android OS.
Android side yes, will confirm Linux side.
You buy this. But where do you get all the games?
Do you have a video explaining how to add games to this handheld console
Have the community made any contributions to this device yet?

hey just wondering does the right thumbstick ever get in the way that's the only think really keeping me from buying this instead of the 351v
@@SurealG tbh I hardly ever use it. But no, I don't have any issues with it. But it would be more comfy to have a horizontal device
@@germang3805 alright thanks It always looked a bit weird because not many games to my knowledge even use it
Trying to decide between this and Retroid Pocket 3. I'm not too tech savvy so kinda drawn to the preinstalled games + Linux. What do you recommend?
I would recommend this for ease of use, but RP3 for price to performance. 🍻

@@retrohandhelds Where we're going, we don't need roads.
I'll be honest, the VS D-pad doesn't feel terrible, but it is quite difficult to navigate.
Mushy dpad? So like the 552?
Very similar feeling
Could you do a video showing gameplay performance of android games? Things like max payne, doom 3, jedi knight 3, halflife 2 etc...
Nice vidéo !
Got the rg353v too and it's overall a good handheld to me :) no issue with D-Pad, but L/R shoulders are kinda cheap to me, loose and noisy
If big hands, might hurt your hands after few hours also
yeah my hands just didn't suit the style of this device, its a great device the ergonomics for my hands just didn't work well -MTS
How much more powerful is this compared to the miyoo mini v2?
I wondered about that too
The 353v will play dreamcast nintendo DS and PSP the miyoo won't
Alot
What’s a TF card
I returned my 353v . Great as a handheld HowEver When I Hooked it to my TV The Nightmares Began And Just Got Worse .
What happened? I just got mine all dialed in and the next step is connecting it to the TV. Everything I read says it should be plugged in and unplugged while off.
Can you access the google play store with android?
It doesn't ship with it, but there may be a work around to manually load on, we'll report more on this.
@@retrohandhelds Thanks for the response. Not really sure what the point of having android if it can’t access the play store?

Why , why , WHY only 3200 mha, WHY?
Hahah, WE NEED A BIGGER BATTERY! Someone out there, let's get creative here....
Just take a 100.000 MHA dock with you when you are traveling and you can play for 30 hours
What's the game played on 8:08?
Looks like Change Air Blade
TLDR the 353P is better in every way except price
If the Bug is Hardware im pretty sure thats called a Flaw and cant be fixed, Bugs can be patched.
It's a little pricey imo, switch lite is 200 and much better specs
I mean you've got 2 different gaming options of course the 2022 current new hand held has better specks lmao wow 🤯 lil slow there bub?
i'm looking for GBA, DS. should i get this or RP3+
I got the Thumby as well🤷🏽♂️ I couldn’t help it. It’s cute yet useless!!!
Absolutely 😛
