    RDNA 5 - The RTX 50 KILLER? RTX 60 To Fight AMD Chiplet GPUs
    In this exclusive, we dive into AMD's RDNA 5, and the upcoming fight between RDNA 5 and RTX 50. Could RDNA 5 FINALLY be the Nvidia killer? In this video, we discuss not only RTX 50 vs RDNA 5, but also touch on the hardware specs of both AMD and Nvidia next gen GPUs, but also what we've been hearing regarding the architecture improvements for both RTX 50 Blackwell and AMD RDNA 5. And of course, as important as the question of specifications is, the questions on most PC gamers' minds will be on the gaming and ray tracing performance, but also on the MSRP pricing.
    As crucial as competing in specs and performance is, the affordability of the prices is going to be a crucial factor in who WINS in the battle of RDNA 5 vs RTX 50. Plus, we also have a little but on RTX 60 Ruben, and how Nvidia are allegedly positioning this graphics card to FIGHT AMD chiplet GPUs.

      And it was true for a long time too, people just don't like AMD for some reason? HD 3000 series was as good but loads cheaper, HD 4000 and 5000 series were better, 6000 was on par, 7000 was a bit slower but still damn good. RX 6000 was great, RX 400 and 200 series were great.
      If we go further back, we could get even better results. x1000/x800 were great, Radeon 9000 were kicking nVidia's ass. That's 2 and a bit decades of GPUs covered.

      The rumor from past leaks here and elsewhere is that AMD ran into technical hurdles with trying to do larger RDNA4 in chiplets, and they see overcoming those hurdles to not be worth as much as investing more heavily in making RDNA5 better and available earlier.

    • @skychaos87
      @skychaos87 Месяц назад

      Did you even watch the video or are you just a nvidiot making nonsensical comments? RDNA3 missed its targets and RDNA4 is more of a fix. RDNA5 is a bigger architectural change with MCM design, that's how they think they are going to leapfrog in performance.
      In case you didn't know, this isn't the first time AMD skipped high end cards. They did so with RDNA1 and they came back extremely strong and competitive with RDNA2. There isn't just 1 design team and they don't design a GPU one after another. RDNA5 has started its design and development even before RDNA3 was released.
      As for being a Nvidia killer, in fact most if not all AMD cards are the better price/performance cards. But most consumers are unsavvy and would buy nVidia anyway because Nvidia has the budget to create a 4090 class card with a $2000 price tag and 450w tdp that doesn't make much revenue selling to less than 1% of the consumers just so they can gain mind shares from nvidiots.

AMD scrapped their original Navi designs (N41, N42, N43) in favor of a couple of small improvised single-die chips (N44 and N48) that presumably/hopefully weren’t too much time and money to draw up that they can sell in large volume for an abbreviated generation.

    Reporting that a new RDNA Generation will be an 'Nvidia Killer' has literally become a meme over the past 5+ years. AMD just can't seem to help themselves and completely miss the mark each and every time. It starts out with hype that results in nothing but copium in the end. With AMD's consistent practice of underdelivering in terms of their relative performance in the GPU segment, the only other thing that AMD seems to do well is never missing an opportunity to completely miss an opportunity. They need to STOP trying to compete in the market like they are #2, as even THAT will not last long with Intel ready to take that spot in the hierarchy. They have to understand that it's NOT ENOUGH to simply be 'almost as good' at a slight savings. They need to use the upcoming RDNA 4 release(s) to aggressively attack the midrange a-la RDNA 1...... BETTER FOR CHEAPER. The business model of undercutting Nvidia by $50 on a $400 Video Card and not able to match it's performance 100% will see them continue to fall further and further down. AMD need to be $100 less in the $500 range and MATCH or EXCEED all performance and features (including Ray Tracing, Path Tracing and Media Encode/Acceleration Features). The days of AMD's $350 'Raster' competitor to Nvidia's $400 'Ray Tracing' offering are OVER. It's not enough to match raster performance, loosing in nearly every other way.....then offering a $50 discount to lure potential buyers. At this point, AMD has lost so much ground that as I said above, they not only need to be cheaper, but also superior in EVERY way, not just 1 or 2, while losing in every other.

I don't think Nvidia would be dumb enough to make the same mistake twice in a row hence why we're getting a more gimped version then usual. even at $999 it doesn't sound all that attractive, almost be better off buying a second hand 4090 when they start dropping in price

The facts are that the 4080, 4090, 5080, 5090 are top devices that have to compete with each other because AMD is out of the game today, which means Huang will set the price at his discretion. Moreover, the 4090 and 5090 are video cards that are now actively used to work with AI and they are already competing with professional cards for 5000...$ 6000 As for sales of 4080, they sell no worse than 3080 or 2080, tops have always sold little. And there is also inflation, stagnation in the game industry, modern politics (between China and the United States), and so on.

    I've said this before and will state it again for those who have no eyes to see. B200 is x2 die and GB 100 x1 BW die at around 800 mm^2. There is no way a 5090 will incorporate 1600 mm^2 of silicon that cost Nvidia $18K to build with 192 GB of HBM. Look at a single die and you can see 4 arrays. These arrays might possibly represent 4 SKUs at 800, 600, 400, 200 mm^2. The 600 mm or 3 arrays is a problem because of the 5090 is 3 of the arrays you can see at 600 mm^2 it needs to be laid out again not to waste the silicon of the full die UNLESS there are yield and sort considerations which are possible. Seeing 4 arrays the shader count is no mystery at 18432 full die, 13824 at 600 mm^2, 9216 at 400 mm^2, 4608 at 200 mm^2. In terms of SM Count which shows slightly less than ADA; 132 at full die, 99 at 600 mm^2, 66 at 400 mm^2 and 33 at 200 mm^2. AND if any leaker takes that from me without attribution, I will chase them down. Open your eyes Paul, look at a GB100 verse GB200 and GB100 and make the call. Why do we as intelligent people need to be exposed to leaker's continuous speculation pressing a false narrative when 1 die shot says it all! mb

    I hadn’t previously noticed the leak reference to Navi “50”.
    If that’s the basis for why we think RDNA5 will be so amazing, it’s really nothing to even pay attention to.
    AMD never releases their Navi X0 chips into the gamer market. Navi 20, Navi 30 never released and Navi 40 never would have either. All these generations would likely have captured the performance crown in raster were they made, but AMD knows they don’t have enough “fanboy following” who will buy $1500+ cards in large enough numbers to make it worth manufacturing.
    This is the real reason they can’t “win” against Nvidia. There’s nothing magical about drawing up bigger chips on paper, which is all these higher-tier cards ever actually are. You need to have enough customer base to buy them in volumes to make it profitable.
    That being the case, Navi 51, 52, and 53 will be the more useful chips to get info on. I really doubt AMD will even aim to topple the 5090, and if they look like they may get to close I’m sure Nvidia already has a 5090ti penned as their counterpunch if needed. Just like the 4090ti that won’t be releasing because it ended up not being needed.

    even without seeing this video, just because of the title, I wanna start by saying I prefer AMD over Nvidia, and I'm currently running 6800xt. BUT. since next AMD cards are RDNA 4 and Nvidia's next gen cards are RTX 50, if RDNA 5 doesn't beat RTX 50 series cards, AMD should just give up at that point.

      They should start right now then. Because that will never happen. It's been the narrative of these past 10/12 years (it started with the Polaris/Vega). "AMD is going to crush Nvidia" only for then never happening. 7950 aside (but that was ATI not amd and Nvidia was in it's infancy), the closer they got was with the 6000 series (and even then the 3090 was still the best performer overall between a more mature upscaling tech and RT). Too bad it came out in possibly the worst GPU launch we've ever seen (COVID+mining scalping). Then we got the 7000 and we all saw how that shit went. Now we already know the 8000 series won't offer much performance improvement over the previous gen (it's not leakers saying it, it's actually amd themselves) and it will be just sort of a bug fix of the 7000 series.
      So yeah, do like me and many others have. Stop wishful thinking and get the best GPU you can get for your wallet and stop falling for these hype yellers like this dude is. AMD will never beat Nvidia. Simple as that. Nvidia owns almost 80% of GPU marketshare. EIGHTY %. And this comes from someone who only owned a single Nvidia card in over 25 years of PC gaming (1070) because I always liked the fact AMD never overpriced their products. But that stopped with this extremely lackluster rdna 3 with their name scheming bullshit (having a 7900xt masked as a x800xt card and so forth going down the line of cards) and their ridiculous pricing point when again, you own 15% of the market share on a good day. The 7900xtx should've launched at 800 USD tops. Then it would have been an easy W for them. But no, let's try to be Nvidia without actually having the faculty Nvidia has. And don't worry, just like any other launches in the past decade, AMD will find a way to fuck things up with rdna 5 too.

      @@davidepannone6021 for fuck sake, read what I said. next gen AMD is rdna 4, next gen nvidia is 50, if rdna 5, notice rdna 5, doesn't beat 50 series, amd should give up.

      @@Repsikka and read mine. It will never happen. I said it like two sentences in. AMD will never beat Nvidia. End of story. Not this, not rdna 5, 6, 7, 3629286. AMD will always be behind in the GPU market. So they might as well just stop now and make actually good price/performances cards like they started doing with rdna 2 (6900xt aside, as that was a stupid card that should have not costed 1k USD MSRP) instead of trying to "beat" Nvidia at the top end and fall flat on their faces each and every time since the Vega/Polaris days.

    AMD only managed to MATCH the 30 series with their 6000 series that was only the competivive high end AMD did in decades
    all these rumors turn out to be false or underwhelming
    AMD might just even give up with high end and just make midrange stuff

      Yup and that was because Nvidia went with Samsung dies instead of TSMC which backfired. So it was kind of easy mode for AMD.

      @toastken7492 Месяц назад

      @SeriousBoot going with samsung didn't hinder nvidia from getting their performance targets it only affected the efficiency like the rx6000 was more efficient than the 30 series like since when has AMD been more efficient than nvidia
      rx7000 AMD missed their performance target the 7900xtx was supposed to be equal to the 4090 the 24gb vram 512bit bus says it all yet they only barely managed to beat the 4080
      and the rx5000 didn't even have a high end they only made a 70 class gpu
