There are not many youtube videos I return to - Tuba Skinny I return to time and again and always see and hear something new. Great performance, great atmosphere.
Everything covered from King Oliver's Creole Jazz Band, to Memphis Jug Band, to Gus Cannon's Jug Stompers, to Duke Ellington, to Mississippi Sheiks, to Memphis Minnie and many other legendary pioneers of American music covered by them, to me it just doesn't get any much better than this.
Including the legendary "gran'daddy of country music," Jimmie Rodgers! TS has done a great rendition of "Any Old Time." Check it out. I would love to hear them do a rendition of "Standing On The Corner."

Shaye is a goddess. So talented . They all are , but shaye is amazing. Cornet , piano , fiddle. And she designs a mean album sleeve. You can tell that she writes the scores as well. Love her to bits

This not just dixieland but ORIGINAL dixiland from the teens & 20's. A lot of their music was revived by them from old black bands and rearranged. Some, like Shay have had formal training, most not, but their talent is natural. Although they have a huge following I'm surprised they're not more popular. If it were not for all the RUclips videos they probably would be less known. The sad truth is "buskers" rarely make it to the big time, even as much as Tuba Skinny has. There's a lot of great talent out there that would never be known but for social media.🎶🎵
