This isn’t a Bali review - it’s a Canggu review. The info given is not relevant to Bali generally.

I have been to Bali three times (the longest for six weeks) and never had a Bali belly, but I also took extra probiotics and oregano oil daily. There's a lot one can do to prevent getting ill

Bali is a volcano island Bali belly is not from bacterial the ground water is full of lime which is what causes the Bali belly.
The most common way to get it is brushing your teeth in the shower and using the ground water etc and ice made from ground water directly.
When U get it buy some biscuits or bread eat the whole packet get fibre back in your system.
    Lime turns everything to liquid.
And 90% of you tourist bloggers premote Gangu as Bali it not it's a tourist strip designed to do nothing but take your money.
Everyone heads there hence the traffic everyone wants to stay there your paying 30% to 40% more for every thing
Pasar is Indonesia word for local market go there to buy clothes fruit n veg ECT
Big difference and paying $100 for swim suit wow they saw you coming from a mile away with sucker on your face sorry .
Venture out of Gangu away from tourist strip

You certainly do need your licence and also an international (IDP) one!… It is Mandatory!
Always keep copies of both and bike papers on you at all times, and where you are staying.
Keep a copy of your passport on your phone too.
Wearing helmets is also law as is proper attire.
If you don’t believe what I’ve stated:- check the driving laws for Bali/Indonesia.

We really enjoyed visiting for a week but I got the impression that the locals merely tolerate tourists. I mentioned to our jovial tour guide that I did not see any mixed couples (foreign men with a local girl). He dropped his smile and shook his head like he shuttered the thought. We found it difficult to walk a short distance to see a nearby temple due to the lack of sidewalks and constant traffic so you are spot on about a lack of infrastructure. Like any foreign country, visit first before committing to stay.

You do need a license, and thats an indonesian issued permit not a international license .Yes you can hire a bike and ride around without a helmet drunk and no license if you want .
Good luck when you have an accident without a license and no cover from your insurance ..( read the fine print on your travel insurance it you have alcohol in your system you may not be covered in any situation)....do your own research, dont rely on what you may be told on you tube

Hi, I think the Bali belly that you mean is caused by drinking Bali tap water. Bali tap water is not drinkable, in fact all over Indonesia and I am sure many Asian countries too. So make sure you do not drink it and check what the most common dos and don’ts are in all over the world.

I am really surprised at the amount of food poisening you got. I was in thailand for 10 months and I got sick once. The idea of being ill every other week is insane.

So, I live in Bali for many years and I agree with what you’ve said. Canggu is not a place I will go to anymore due to traffic and all the disrespectful kids I lived there for a few years but left 3 years ago never been back
Not sure what you’re eating or drinking or from where or if your system is just sensitive and I’m sorry you got sick more than once. In 8 years I’ve never been a victim of bali belly. In fact never been sick here at all
If you shop at pepito / festive and places like that the prices are high especially on western items same with the shops / boutiques that are mostly foreign owned. Outside the tourist areas like Canggu and down the west coast to kuta you can find very low prices on food, clothes etc. Or try shoppe Bikinis are 5-10 bucks !
Next time explore the eastern side or northern areas. That is more the real bali. These tourist areas have ruined the island character/ culture / vibe that is everywhere else on the island
Most of us who live here stay away from those areas
First time tourist should at least spend a few days on the west coast but quickly get out and enjoy so much more than clubs, bars, traffic and high prices 😊

How about you shoping online, Indonesian marketplace it’s call “shopee and tokopedia” but since Bali is island maybe the shiping took longer, or you can filter the search just the product who produce in Bali so that will be saving time for shiping. But the downside is you need to be carefull to choose your size because in Indonesia marketplace the use Indonesian size, but there is alot of clothing using all size = means will be fit from small to medium or maybe to large. About the traffic , all the destination in the world they will have traffic depend on how much tourist were staying, but I see in Bali now there is thousand tourist that deside to stay 😂specially for digital nomad so this cause traffic alot, while the Bali land or the size of the road can’t be larger, I see the original size of the road and it’s imposible too extend it or will need to give compensation to local to move to be able to extend the road. Wh (which is maybe goverment don’t have budget for that) in this case we can’t blame Bali 100%. Continue making positif video girl

Nothing wrong with having negative experiences and sharing them. Bali has plenty of problems. It also has plenty of shills defending her online, I can see some people writing nasty comments here towards you for your opinions. $100 USD dollar swimsuits does sound a bit extreme, although I remember looking at activewear for my (ex) girlfriend in Ubud and thinking $35 USD was too much for what it was, so I know how you feel. Similar to another commenter, I also didn't get bali belly for the 4 months I was there and I always ate cheap, so am curious about your oral habits (ha ha) to understand what was going on there (seriously). I do have a long list of issues with Bali...hotel hygiene being the biggest one, in my opinion Bali does not care enough its tourists. I'll make a video soon. Where are you these days?

The worst drivers on the road are tourists who don't know how to ride or think they're king of the road. Never had Bali belly, eat local. Don't use supermarkets use local markets. Why are you shopping in H&M in Bali? Recommend you stay at home!

    1. You DO need driving licence in Bali. Unless you're just driving or motorcycling around Canggu. And please for the love of God if you can't drive a motorbike or scooter don't drive them. You can harm yourself and OTHERS. Just use Gojek or Grabike instead for transportation.
    2. Don't drink tap water in Bali.
    3. Don't buy clothes in boutique shop. You can buy clothing from local shop.
    4. In Bali they have warung makan where you can eat for cheap instead of the restaurant.

    Great vid thank you!
However a couple of facts! You legally need a license to suit the vehicle you are driving as if you have an accident, insurance is nil and void as well as health insurance.
Helmets from Bali are not a great standard, byo from Europe or Australia (best safety)
Traffic has been CRAP since COVID and Canggu is THE worst on the island!
You need to take stomach probiotics and charcoal for your gut as Bali health standards are very low compared to western countries. Very common to get sick and dehydrated.
Supermarkets are very expensive, markets are the best to buy fresh food …
Bali is now expensive 2024 in rent and is not an idyllic country to visit any longer - a lot of wanna-be digital nomads!
