Phenomenal show. The platform shows black youth pursuing an education in front of America. What a wonderful influence.
'A Different World' held its own once it got running from the 1988-89 season and on but 1987-88 was the rookie year and good but new and then it blew up from '88-89 until '91-92... amazing run!
I'm glad Jasmine mentioned Susan Fells because she is super overlooked whenever anyone talks about ADW. Mostly we credit Debbie but Susan as the show's head writer and executive producer was just as integral to the show's success from seasons 2-6.
It was an EXCELLENT show in its own right. Stood on its own.

Yes it’s possible! I love the Cosby show and a Different World! I’m watching A Different World now with my family from season 1-6 to expose my 13 son to it and that love will never change no matter what Bill did. Good television is good television... no matter what is personal or professional life was off camera.

I watch A Different World reruns again and again. Not once have I thought about Mr. Cosby!! For the record: I am 'still' team Dr. Bill Cosby!!! Tainted....really...(two and a half men) Charlie Sheen!! :-(
I just love Jasmine Guy. And "Whitley Gilbert" was hilarious, especially when dancing the Tango with "Liddie Bostic" doing that double-down dip! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I wonder if Jasmine likes WG jokes, or has she put that character out of her daily mind stream. 😅I also thought the "Freddy" character change was disappointing. I really liked her as the earthy bohemian eccentric intellectual that she was. And her an "Shaza" as a couple was great. Then Bam! What the hell happened to Freddy?!!! 🤨 When I watch ADW now, it's hard seeing Cosby's name in the credits and seeing him as "Heathcliff Huxtable" in Season One (and any others?) now in 2024 after the sickening revelations about him. But I still always enjoy the show. And thanks for your show.

Side note...Why does he mske a point to say the interview was done before the allegations. Her statements on Cosby are not null and void because of the allegations.

First, unnecessary question. In some peoples eyes it would be tainted. In mine, no. If we go there to say because of the allegations, it's tainted, well then what it's all the peoples work, who are pedophiles, racists and so on. Nobody is talking that way about 7th Heaven or house of cards. Anybody not watching Weinsteins movies any more. There would be a lot of things not watch anymore. I never cared much about a different world. Love the episodes with Phylicia Rashad. Other than that. The Cosby Show will be always groundbreaking. It change the perspective and perception of Black people. Do you have a interview with Phylicia Rashad? I would guess you don't.
They are all rapists including Bill Cosby. Bringing up other rapists, doesnt make him less of one. Please realize thst

The “disclaimer” about this interview taking place before the now-revealed whatever was not necessary. Dr. Cosby was and still is one of the most talented persons in television history. Without him, this video would not have been possible. People need to stop tripping and open their eyes to see the sham his conviction was. There is no way that he did whatever to THAT MANY women. The only reason Dr. Cosby is in prison is because he was unfaithful to his wife, and the system took the opportunity to bring down a great man who was a positive influence in the black community.

The disclaimer is to make people pause for the conviction has already occurred and these conversations may make argument in support of Cosby and let's face it; that's something 'THEY' simply don't want. He couldn't possibly be as POSITIVE and his colleagues feel they remember him. This guy is clearly biased as he made certain to restate HIS perspective even after the interview. BIASED.
