- Modern Warfare 2 is an all-time classic of the Xbox 360 + PS3 generations. The multiplayer was addictive and awesome, if a bit over-the-top and frustrating at times. But was the single-player alone worth remastering? Is it worth buying? Why was Spec Ops and multiplayer not included?

Caloveen I’m just saying cod games in general. It makes the games obsolete every October when you have a yearly release. Mainly because most players move onto the next game, just like with EA sports games like madden, its sad really.

They're not made each year. Each game since Sledgehammer was brought on in 2014 takes 3 years to develop, as each release alternates between the developers.

Am I the only one that cares more about the campaign, even though somethings were cut from the OG MW2 and some of the trophies/achievements have ridiculous requirements?
Yeah, I'm more of a single player guy, multiplayer is just... Bland to me, for all of the cods (I'll enjoy them when the time is right, but I just prefer single player)

Anyone remember that one game "Spec Ops: The Line"? Starts off as a generic cover shooter with a basic "find the missing person" story, then everything very quickly turns upside down and makes you regret almost everything you've done. Great game.
Really though, it is a good game. Cheap too

I have no idea why they turned the music down so much, it makes certain moments so dry and quiet compared to dramatic, cinematic original. Its actually my biggest gripe with the remaster.

I really liked this remaster a lot, I think about the last campaign in the old engine (WW2) and think that this remaster is as high quality as that game and it just impresses me.

I think one big reason they probably didn’t add on some missions was because they would have to get every voice actor back in to actually follow the narrative.

Given how crappy the "spec ops" mode is in the new Modern Warfare, I was really hoping for MW2's spec ops to be remastered, specifically with split screen so my dad and I can relive the good old days together.
I said the exact thing when I first saw the remaster. We can only hope they add it later
@@ceo7837 heard a rumor that spec ops/multiplayer are being remastered/developed by a different studio, and that's why they weren't released simultaneously but, like i say, it's just a rumor.

Then it cuts to a secret base outside of Afganistan. And at the end of the mission you kill Bush along with Osama and it alters the future timeline. Something like that. You get me? This game had such little advertisements about it that I fought the origional MW2 6 days before it released
I wasn’t too bummed. I didn’t have internet when MW2 came out, and I was only 9-10 years old and played it solely for the campaign and local multiplayer/spec-ops with friends. So just being able to play the campaign again was such a nostalgic feeling. Definitely my favorite CoD of all time.
They should remaster WAW and not censor anything

Yeah, any more meddling in how it played then it would be more of a remake than a remaster. Final Fantasy X has a remaster that is the same game that released on the PAL version on ps2 but the graphics were updated as best as possible from an early ps2 game without a complete graphical overhaul. I'm happy that the remasters exist because now I can actually platinum the games since they are all campaign based trophies

Activision has said recently that they have pretty much finished the multiplayer but they think that they’ve changed it too much and are afraid that people are gonna hate it. Also there have been leaks about mw3 remastered already. The leakers say that it’s also gonna probably be campaign only when they first sell it.

I'm actually a fan of the OG soundtracks and remasters being not too doffirent from the original game. That's what makes it nostalgic and I'm willing to pay full price to re-live my old memories on updated servers and graphics. I mean MW2 and BO1 are practically unplayable these days because they are unpopulated andd prpne to hackers. Wouldn't mind paying for a full game to bring them back to life.

It's implied that Shepard was working a little bit with Makarov in order to start the war and Shepard would become respected after the nuclear incident in Cod4. This also kind of explains why Shepard betrays TF141 as there may have been communications between Shepard and Makarov on his computer. There is even a cut ending where you hunt down Shepard with your knife in campaign version of Rust and he has dialogue that confirms this this theory. So a few cut scenes talking about this would be really good. Maybe even a bonus mission based on the cut ending.
This is a bit unrelated, but it would be nice if they explained who the VIP in Exodus is and what was on his laptop. I also noticed that the intro of team player is much shorter. Normally there is a pan across the map of Afghanistan, we see a simulation showing different military vehicles like Humvee's and similar vehicles. Even an animation of the bridge layer, laying it's bridge. Shepard begins talking halfway through. Then we see a virtual armory showing rows upon rows of about 100 different rifles.
In the remastered version though, Shepard begins talking during the pan, briefly showing the bridge layer, than about 4 rows of around 30 weapons. I also noticed that the design of the Humvee's has been changed. I also saw something that said Activision no longer has a license to show Humvee's.

WAW was the last really visceral CoD game. There's been more fun campaigns since but it was the last one to really press home the horror of war
CoD needs to go back their old formula of Treyarch and Infinity Ward releasing games from different eras. Treyarch used to release a game focused on the past- which was meant to portray how brutal histories methods to warfare have been and which I doubt Treyarch would try now- and Infinity Ward would focus on the present, where they're going now.
Honestly- though I hate to bring up the shitty publisher- Activision should use this opportunity they've been given with MW2019 to slow down their game releases. There's not much else for them to do that they haven't already done. They covered historical periods of modern combat, and they now lack the balls to ramp up or maintain what WaW did. They've done modern combat, and the reboot seems to be doing well; likewise, the two studios (and what was once Sledgehammer) have done futuristic combat, though with very polarized results. There's not many other places of combat to go that people won't compare to their Golden Eggs.

I guess my issue is: why spend $20 on a remastered campaign, when I can get the complete trilogy- multiplayer and spec-ops included- for another $10 on Xbox One? I guess that’s a justification for PS4 owners to get it, but once it’s on all platforms it isn’t as worth it. If they add multiplayer and spec-ops, that could make it worth a buy, but not in its current state.

I loved this campaign. It was my favorite one. I was very happy they remastered it! I wish the spec ops and multiplayer were here but I still think it was a good call for Activision to have this remastered. I hope MW3, World at War, and Black Ops 1 get the same treatment.
Mw2 multiplayer remastered just wouldn’t work in this current climate purely because the multiplayer was so broken it’s what kept up the love for it because it was just all chaos that worked yet nowadays people would just bitch and moan that the multiplayer is unbalanced and needs patching and it gets to a point where the multiplayer is no longer mw2...
remasters sucks anyway. Ruins all great memories.

I feel like this was a weird time to release the game, it seemed like something to compensate for Black Ops 4 not having a campaign. Want to play a campaign, play MW2 remastered. Play multiplayer; Blops 4. The fact this was released in the same year as MW 2019 when that game didn’t need a remaster to recoup people holding out on the game like with IW, it was all odd.
8:53 to be fair the new modern warfare has to much data needed to fit in a console or at least on a original ps4 which left some people unable to play since season 2’s release.

From what I heard the deal may have been back in 2018 where the one month exclusivity was still on and MW2 R was gonna realease originally back in 2018.

As a gears fanatic i feel inclined to say the extra missions in gears ultimate werent entirely new. Those missions were actually in the original gears pc port back in 07 i believe. So new to xbox players yes.
