Just ordered the Advanced tier. Even if it looks like it has a lot of competition, it really doesn't. Sportage/Tucson are smaller, strange looking and lower quality overall. Tiguan/Kodiaq don't have the same level features, offer diesel engines in 2024 and have the same prices. X-trail is also strange looking and doesn't have same level features. XC60 is more expensive, first run build and offers 3.3 diesel (ridiculous). CX60 is more expensive and not updated in ages (Volvo cares only about electric cars now). So, really if you want a nice big SUV, with a modern engine and all the features, there is nothing better under 60k. You can go for a SH BMW X3 but you still pay 45k for a 4-5 years old car with no these many features.

Toyota is chosen by those people who are not interested in the interior and exterior of the car, that is, the car will move them from point A to B. Honda is a much more progressive choice in every way! You won't like a Toyota after a Honda, and a Honda after a Toyota is a much more enjoyable driving experience.. Toyota lovers aren't looking for fun to drive, It's just a means of transportation.

The last bit was spot on. We just bought a new Tesla Model Y dual motor for less than 30k Euro with incentives in Colorado. We considered other cars, but in 2024, Tesla is the value brand. 😂 I would only buy a CR-V for 10k less. We also only spend about 60 euro on electricity a month even though we drive 3000 km per month! A PHEV is the worst of both worlds and costs more too!

    • @MarekDrivesENG

With this kind of milage on (I assume) the same route an EV is a great choice. PHEVs do make sense, when you're doing shorter city runs, and then take a longer road trip once in a while, and you don't want the hassle of dealing with a non-Tesla charging network.

CR-V is an alternative for the RAV4. As far as I know, Honda is slightly slower, less economical and more expensive, but slightly roomier and more comfortable. It will get its owners.
Inside the Honda portfolio, I consider HR-V being a ruined Jazz and CR-V is another step in this direction. Let's say ruined Civic. But that is general SUV problem. Kids to school? I wish to see Honda Odyssey HEV in Europe.

Caddy and Berlingo are panel vans converted to people carriers. I haven't driven the new Scenic, but something tells me it's not going to be a great minivan, like it used to be 2 generations ago (the last one was mediocre). The new Espace review is coming soon, so stay tuned. Spolier: it's not a real Espace. Sharan is no longer in production, so there are no good minivans left in Europe (except for the Touran, which is smaller).
