*When the best of The Seekers songs were sweeping America back in the 1960's ("I'll Never Find Another You", "A World of Our Own", "Georgy Girl") I only ever got to hear them on our car radio as my parents and we kids cruised down the roads of California. Just about everyone liked them - men, women, boys & girls, especially their smash hit, "Georgy Girl". Funny, though, I never knew The Seekers were Australian back then - not until many decades later. Instead, I thought they were an English group, like so many others hitting the States back in those years. But I know their origin now and I must say that the singing talent of Judith Durham is something that Australia should be proud of. She truly had a global talent.*
Spring of 1968 we had the sixth grade moving up ceremony to Junior High School. Classmate s Renee and Hazel asked me if I'd help them sing some songs for the program. I had never heard the songs before so I learned them really quickly from them singing acapella. The songs was Georgie girl and Mamie.

She's got strong shoulders to support the pressure of Judith's breath control and charisma. Beautiful rendition and great harmonies. Love when she goes up at the end. We should be glad new generations get to find out about the legends. Cheers.

It's good. It's difficult to be exact. Entertaining. They can't be the real thing but they can touch our hearts.

I think that you’re being a little harsh in your assessment.
Many of us are delighted with this rendition in spite of it falling short of the original.
@georgesotiroff5080 sport, when someone comes along with a wild exaggeration like very close to the original, when it is not, well, that statement gets what it deserves,. Didn't say i didn't enjoy it, but it was average, now given that, look at what the yardstick is, you cannot set the mark any higher than Judith. I would not have envied that young lady, lot of guts to take on that role!
Nice rendition. Some songs that are done well just never get old.
You can't expect them to sound just like the original group, but their version of the song is pretty good !!!

Young lady, your voice and sound are very good, fairly close and resembling Judith Durham. With Judith's passing this week the Seeker's will need a fill in for Judith if they intend to tour any longer. You should get in touch with them and send them a copy of this tape. In the meantime, if you listen to Judith several times I believe you can add a few inflections of hers to correct those imperfections in your version. I hope you follow this advice because you are the closest thing out there to Judith that I have heard which says a lot because I am 68 and have heard Judith sing this many, many, many times!!!
you´re right. I´ve heard The seekers since i was a child and i think the same. I´m 55 yo and grow up with that music.
She comes a close second to Judith👍🙂

Good cover. They cast it well. Some voices just can't be replicated but she comes close enough for me.
Really good rendition of the song… except we have the Seekers to compare it to. It’s not really fair to the gal singing here, but no one sounds like Judith Durham.
It took the boys one session to realize that with Judy they were something special.
By the time they got off the boat, they had already been picked up.
Their voices blend really well.
Please bring this to the USA for a national tour. A fan in Minnesota.

Come on! Stop knocking them. Yes, we know no one can compare with the Seekers, especially Judith; her voice is unique. But this was an excellent performance. They cannot, nor I'm sure do they wish to copy the Seekers exactly. They are acting out the story of the Seekers and if this short excerpt is anything to go by, I'm sure they do a wonderful job. I would love to see this musical and hope it eventually comes to the UK.

Kudos to this fine lady for a good job. She had the impossible task to duplicate Judith. A fine effort though, the best I have heard since Judith. No one can be Judith, but Judith.
Have to agree ..... the brilliant sound of the Seekers, and Indeed Judith Durham, was unmistakable ..... this is a decent effort though.
Looks like this number was inspired by the Abbey Road clip where Judith is off to the side, hands on hips (in a red dress and ponytails, so pretty!). Great rendition.

I am amazed at how close this lady's voice is to Judith. Not perfect but darn good. Her male vocalists were marginal compared to the seekers but overall not bad as a group. This makes me realize just how good the Seekers were! They cannot ever be recreated or duplicated.
