lol I haven't watch you in a long time. You seems much chiller and much more smiles. Seem like you're hitting your stride in making video. Damn that's a lot of boots, agree with your sentiment of no more boots.
5k nice. People like you and your content. Keep at er. Word of mouth helps. I’ve mentioned your channel to friends. Hat reviews are good especially Stetsons. I have a Bronson sweater that is made to fit under an A-2. Great quality and price was decent. I also have a couple of pairs of Red Tornado selvedge jeans and love them. I’ve got high end LVCs and the RTs are pretty good for the price. Huge fan of Aero jackets and Eastman as well.
Iron Heart 888 cut in your size has around 11.5” front rise and 16” rear rise, post wash. I personally like their 21oz denim, but the 19oz LHT is unsanforized which may be more your thing. However, at the end of the day, IH may be too “modern” styled for your taste. Love the videos and this q&a was great!
@@almostvintagestyleI got one 1890s Slub Cotton Henley T-Shirt from them though and it got little holes after first wash.. wouldn’t recommend that one..
Same, for a handful of their T shirts and they are very solid quality and materials for the price, they are a steal of a deal. I can see the other stuff not being at that value proposition.
Congrats on the 5k! I honestly thought you had way more subs and won't be surprised if the number spikes up soon. Your content is great and I'm disappointed to hear that people within the community were being verbally abusive and threating. By the way what cheaper brand would you recommend besides Grant Stone?
Just throwing in some Iron Hearts I got, the 1955 fit has a high rise (if you consider 12” high) and a decently full leg. I’m no die hard fan of them and I’m a little more into 90s Levi’s but they fit me pretty well and I’m also into higher rises.
I dont know much about engineer boots and not really my thing. But i have a pair of AD-TEC Packers that were relatively cheap. Yet they have good year welt, and decent enough leather, over all good quality for the cost. Just had a quick look AD-TEC has engineer boots as well. If they are of the same quality of my packers, as an entry level boot. Id say that they are more then worth it. Cheers, beers and whiskey 🤠 🥃
I find country of origin is important to me. I bought a cable knit fishermans sweater made in Ireland, what better country to buy a fisherman sweater from? Today I bought a British rib knit sweater that wasn't made in England, but it was made in my country from British wool on non-electric Swiss looms. Said sweater is $275 but I paid just $60. I am looking at getting some dress shoes made in Columbia by old world craftsman compares to plastic shoes from China. If you are on a budget, better to buy quality used than to pay for new cheap quality from sweatshops.
@@almostvintagestyle the ones you tried on were made for him and his son-in-law though.. he doesn’t sell the ones that he shows.. if you got a custom one from him with the specs you love about your vintage jackets I think you may change your tune.
I really love Bronson stuff. They do have written on all of their garments made in china. I didn’t notice it is missing on the page. They did answer me in details about the machines they use and they were good geeky about it. Great customer service as well. I do wish they own the fact they are made in china. I really like their take on historic stuff, some of the designs are really interesting takes I didn’t saw elsewhere. I just didn’t notice anything that would make me feel they are British. Is that something they did in the past? I mean name is Bronson MFG but this days that doesn’t mean anything, is that something that would mean British? MVG was mostly in US brands from my understanding right?
Thanks for the detailed info! Glad to hear they do know their stuff when asked. I'm happy to be proven wrong and it seems like I need to try something from them
I mean only Boot and Selvedge people know about Bronson, Red Tornado and Suace etc. I dont think anyone can get confused they are from China. And most of the brands clearly have Chinese branding and embrace it..
26:20 On the estbalished brands getting worse. Its pretty egregious the PNW brands using really good uppers, and then for almost the same price as all leather with stacked heels. Selling maybe max $400 boots for almost $600 with Unit Lug Outsoles. Not to mention all of these brands havent come together to standardize sizing, and invest in the next generation of Cordswain'ers...
7:50 At this point Wesco needs to redo all their Lastings, hire a third party quality control company and focus on direct to consumer on hand boots. Their model makes no sense. Theres no way they will be in business in the future if they cant fix their issues. Wesco has never even been a consideration due to their quality control and what 2 year wait times for pretty much stock boots...
Hey man, congrats on 5K!!!
Thanks Carl! Much appreciated 🙏

Thank you! Really appreciate that. I do feel more positive overall haha

Thanks so much! Really appreciate it. I think I have to give Bronson a try myself at this point. Too many positive thoughts on them from others
I have a Red Tornado trucker jacket and love it...
I wondered what Kyle and the nelk boys had been up to... Love the new content!
Neck? Sorry, I'm assuming that's an acronym or something

Thays still a little too low for me sadly. If I can try them on in person again I will
I actually got some Henleys from Bronson on Black Friday and I’m pretty satisfied with them. They are very nice quality.
Yeah I've heard the t shirts are good. I'll probably try one out in my big t shirt video

Did you forget to edit out the very beginning or was that on purpose 😂? Were you doing the heritage shuffle?
or the patina spin
I was having issues with my editing software, but let's go with Heritage Shuffle🤣
I like that one too!

Thanks so much! Really appreciate it! Parkhurst for sure, Red Wing depending on the model, and Astorflex
Congrats on 5k! Looking forward to your hat video.

It's still not as high as I would like for my build unfortunately. That's the closest cut to working for me though
Thanks Jake. I’m a lever guy too, but my Robot is about a tenth of the price of your ACS. : )
The robot is awesome!
Brother, make a video about these boots behind you, showing prices and their qualities
Jake already has - check his channel
@@BootlosophyI love your channel
Thanks Teik. I just don't have as many boots as you do to review!
I have already reviewed almost every one of my boots actually. Just check further back in my channel history
My man space man quiff! 🎉 congrats
Haha yup! Thanks 😁
23:56 Fun collab video would be to get some Huckberry boots. Deconstruct them with a @TrentonHeath and customize them...
I could do that with the pair I have actually

Interesting. I hadn't heard of them before
You wouldn't be able to wear your leather jackets here in Manhattan nearly as often as you do in California
Yeah it helps to have the mild weather I have here

Agreed. Better to buy quality and buy less. Also yes, a fisherman sweater from Ireland is probably quite nice
Jake, I haven’t seen you talk about those light blue boots in your rack. What are they?
They're my wife's Grant Stone Nora women's boots👍
Also you haven’t tried a custom thedi yet! I bet you he could make you exactly what you want if you told him your preferences and you’d be blown away!
That's true, though I have tried his jackets on in person

Nice Jacket.. Schott ?
No I don't own a Schott. Their jackets are all too long on me.
This is a late 1940s Sportclad jacket

Would you ever consider vintage boots from the 40s/50s?
coke is better
I've looked into it and if the right pair showed up, yes!
you are wearing black and brown right now bro
Where? It's a black jacket and black belt with burgundy inlays and a grey and burgundy hat...

The funny thing is that I actually like a lot of Viberg stuff. I just wrote one article years ago and everyone thinks I hate them even though I don't
Thats exactly what someone who hates Viberg would say!@@almostvintagestyle
