I basically cried to this song when I was getting myself involved with someone who I knew would break my heart. I still very stupidly got involved and yes, my heart was broken in the end as I predicted, but I can listen to this song now knowing the worst of it is behind me. It still gets me in the "feels", though. Brilliant work Cub Sport.
Like they say...better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all...love doesn't last forever very often...enjoy it while it lasts...be thankful cause love is the best feeling in the world, even if it breaks your heart...
This song is a masterpiece. I randomly found it through trying to find new music and when I listened to it I was like yeah that's the one I am gonna be listening for the rest of the month non stop
these guys are australian band, who have been around for 15 years, they use to be know as cub scouts, but were sued by the boy scouts for the name, almost went through a break up, and re emerged as cub sports, and their music has always been great, and they have been making music for a long time now.
This song really represents our need to belong and to be loved, even if its fleeting and at great personal cost. Tragic and beautiful. Well done Cub Sport for this 💔❤🩹❤
Praying for all the victims of Orlando massacre, tears in my eyes. May God give comfort to their innocent souls and to the loved ones they left behind on the Earth.
[Lyrics] We were walking on Sparkes Street growing up real fast I left it behind pretty quickly, still the farthest thing from pretty I found comfort, I fell in love with avoiding problems We were riding on Smith Street we were right on track I left it behind without sinking, they all said I wasn't thinking I found comfort, I fell in love with avoiding problems But I want this, you know I want this So come on, mess me up And you can break me if you'll still take me Ruin me, if you'll let me be one of the ones you say you won't forget 'Cause I want this, you know I want this So come on, mess me up I was stumbling on Suffolk throwing up real hard Inside was kind of misty, I knew none of the history I found comfort, I fell in love with avoiding problems And that was the problem 'Cause I want this, you know I want this So come on, mess me up And you can break me if you'll still take me Ruin me, if you'll let me be one of the ones you say you won't forget 'Cause I want this, you know I want this So come on, mess me up 'Cause I want this, you know I want this So come on, mess me up
still here😩 mostly on spotify but it ran out.. this song got me about 4 years ago when i was riding my bike and listening to shuffle on here and ever since then this song taught me the music i always want to listen to.. an absolute masterpiece
This song honestly never gets old. I can listen to it every day and it’ll always be so special and amazing. Seeing you guys in a few months, so excited 💞
So i just found out about cub sport....and yes from the dolan twins but i actually really love their music. Its amazing and hus voice is so calming. Edit: i am now obsessed. This and Hawaiin pary are my favorite songs
I actually only heard this song for the first time about two weeks ago!! It's so weird because I love Cub Sport and have heard a couple of their songs and fell in love, thinking "These guys are gonna be the next Arcade Fire (the band I'm judging all new bands against atm!) and they're from my hometown!!" Brisbane has birthed many brilliant musicians/bands, and has a wicked cool nightlife from the TechnoE Dark Doof Doof Dens (which I loooove!!) to the normal sort of Pub Night places to brillo pubs and small and dingy 'Music Hall's that sell piss! And that's where Cub Sport did their internship, I believe. Anyway, two weeks and one day ago, we got the news here in Oz that Dolores O'Riordan the fully amazingly brillo lady who sang with a somewhat breathy, child-like, clear as a bell voice, that would occasionally turn into a sort of, warbling, yodelling and sometimes wailing like a banshee; the pain of the words coming through in that amazing voice, that sent wave after wave of goosebumps up and down your limbs! Sometimes one couldn't help but cry with her for the characters in the song's lyrics, one good example of that is 'Bosnia"; and sometimes one would relate the song personally and just cry!! OKAY SO I fucken love The Cranberries and after hearing of her death I put on my Cranberries disks and listened to them in order of age. I was doing this over and over, sometimes sniffling, maybe weeping softly, and sometimes singing along loudly then losing it and start wailing and crying full on; I'm talking full fucken keening!! Time moves slowly to the day after I'd heard the news: I ended up popping a couple valium to calm things down the night before and it had let me get a few hours sleep. So I wake up on the morning after I heard THE SADDEST CELEBRITY DEATH NEWS SINCE THE DEATH OF PRINCESS DIANA IN 1997; make the usual cuppa tea and a fag, and turn on the Digital Video Recorder which is set to start when I went to bed. I'm still all sniffly, sad, but after a little while I saw written at the bottom of the screen Cub Sport-Come On Mess Me Up. I start paying attention and turn it up; after liking what I'd seen and heard. By the first chorus, I knew something special was in front of me; so I turn it up, put the songs time span on continuous, and start bawling as the 2nd verse and chorus wash over me. I was grieving for Dolores and The Cranberries; for the voice I'd never hear live again! It was this amazing song that allowed me to get out the worst of my grieving in one day, though I still get upset if I hear them on the radio. The next day I bought my own, tactile, cd of Cub Sport titled "This Is Our Vice'. My new favourite record, my new favourite song!! OH, IF YOU'RE WONDERING WHY THIS COMMENT IS SO F****N LONG: I have cardiomyopathy, the doctors want me to get a pacemaker, but I decided that I will take any pill he recommends, and combined with rest........we'll see. With all this in mind, I have gotten myself one of those Green Orchids that BUD these green and purple flowers and taken their VAPOUR. Combined with the valium and other meds with sedating qualities, I'm a bit not entirely here, dig? Brilliant Band, Brilliant Song and thanks for helping me grieve The Cranberries!! COME ON and MESS ME UP!!!!

We were walking on Sparkes Street growing up real fast

We were riding on Smith Street we were right on track
I left it behind without sinking, they all said I wasn't thinking
I found comfort, I fell in love with avoiding problems
But I want this, you know I want this
So come on, mess me up
And you can break me if you'll still take me
Ruin me, if you'll let me be one of the ones you say you won't forget
'Cause I want this, you know I want this
So come on, mess me up
I was stumbling on Suffolk throwing up real hard
Inside was kind of misty, I knew none of the history
