This must be one of the most heart wrenching piece of music on a violin. So much sadness and sorrow..................... beautifully played here. Love it.......
I learned that we lost two family members at the horrendous camp at Auschwitz. Each time I listen to this magnificent haunting composition, tears roll down my cheeks. I have seen the movie only once, I cried almost nonstop during the entire movie. Emotions effect you quite differently when your family members were cast aside like debris. A very sad time in our world history.
and of course we have the inane capacity to repeat all this bloodshed again at the drop of a hat.what idiots are we.

I appreciate your directing me to Luca Sulic, who I did not know of. I found his playing of Faure's "Elegy" to be truly wonderful. While his interpretation of Schindler's List is passionately soulful, I miss the shriller innate sounds of the violin over the cello for this particular piece of music. A matter of personal taste, no doubt.

Her performance is lovely but You could feel the emotion spilling out of Perlman.. tell me what you think, please 😊

It's an exceptional composition. Maybe it's the thought of the circumstances of the film which gives one that feeling of sadness. John Williams composed this music wirh such devotion towards the people who suffered during a period of utter madness. Germany's Shame. May the world never forget
My wish came true I got to go to krakow Poland for my 50th birthday 10 years ago done Schindler’s the ghetto then to auschwitz the saddest place on earth I new exactly what happened there after studying ww2 persecution of the Jews of Europe I got to pay my respects to all them people who perished in such horrific atrocities il never forgot them i love listening to all the fabulous musicians theme of Schindlers list it reaches into the soul of any one who listen to this beautiful memory of the final solution of the Jews of Europe by the soulless Adolf hitler and his regime may all there soul rest in eternal peace amen

The song, the technique, and the passion... all of it joined together is what makes a piece like this so beautiful. It's as if the violin itself is crying...
I love the reacton of the fluetist to her right from 1:11 (and in the end from 3:40) - he enjoys/suffers the emotion of the melody, closing his eyes and lifting his eyebrows with the most wailing notes. You can see that he almost starts crying. Sitting directly next to a concert violinist like her, playing this most emotional tune I've ever heard, must be an exceptional experience. :-)

yes this is the finest rendition and i ve listened to most of them. simina plays with grace and tenderness and even the sombre countanence of the orchestra it all captures the elegaic sadness that was ww2 in a most poignant way .breathtaking performance all round.congratulations to all these gifted musicians

As a son of holocaust survivors that Yiddish was my first language, in this beautiful music I can hear my grandmother's lullaby, and many motives of Yiddish songs, John Williams made a genius masterpiece. I can't stop hearing it.
