- Cleaning out fungus and haze from a Soligor Zoom Macro 28-80mm C/D F3.5-4.5 lens.
This Soligor lens has so much fungus and haze, that it took 20 cotton swabs to clean. It is disgusting. The lens gets disassembled and the refurbished, although not to like new standards.

I wish I watched this video before I opened my Vivitar Series 1 24-70. I didn't realise I need to note down the distance of the rear group and now it doesn't focus anymore. I will have to do a lot of trail and error to figure out the right position now. That is if I can find the patience :D
Excuse me. What distance? The sane hsppenned to me with the Soligor 80-200 f4... Every image is blurred... Even though I see the lens clean!!!
@ if I remember correctly the rear group was held by a thread. You would need a special tool to screw it in to the correct position in regards to the rest of the optical elements.
Merci beaucoup , vos démonstrations sont une aide précieuse quand on veut nettoyer un objectif.thank you very much.
Any idea where I may find the schematic/diagram for this lens? Thank you
Is it normal for the front element ring to feel like it's soldered shut when trying the lens spanner for the first time? It does not move at all
In some cases, yes.
I have this lens. It certainly as bad as you make it sound. I have a Minolta with fungus and this lens I have is fine.
Nice tutorial!👏🏻👏🏻 It would be great if you could do the same with a vivitar series 1 70-210mm f3.5 it really gets a lot of haze!
I'll check it out!
show us how to de-cklick the aperture + Macro-Lock on this bad boy. Make it Cine!
Sorry, unfortunately, we have given the lens back to its owner.
