thanks. when I unscrew the first barrel, only the front lens comes off. this leaves a large convex lens exposed only. It seems that the front part you removed has that part inside it. How do I get the remaining part off ?
All I can suggest is to reinstall the front barrel tightly, and add a few drops of isopropyl alcohol to the threads that are stuck. Hold the front barrel firmly where the threads are and try again.
How did you manage to loosen the second barrel? I think mine has some kind of thread-lock on it from the factory. At least the first barrel had a little on it too.
It is indeed very tight. You can try adding a small amount Isopropyl alcohol or acetone to loosen the adhesive on the threads. Please do not add too much as it can get in the other components. Wrapping the barrel with a rubber band can also aid in grip.
Have you attempted a take down on the SMC Pentax 67 200 f4? I have one with some fungus and wondered if it was similar to the Takumar version - Thanks!
@@FocalReduced Would you be interested in using my lens for a video on element cleaning? These are quite popular especially in the astrophotography arena, just like the Takumar version.
@@BaysideGraphics Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that the lens can be repaired and I don't really want to break another persons lens. I will try look further into its disassembly.
That’s fine - it would be good to find how it is taken apart - it’s not of any use in this condition so I wouldn’t hold you responsible. In the meantime I have posted it for sale on eBay noting it’s condition so let me know if you find something - thks!
Nice & useful video thx for it.
Thanks for the video, now I know how to deal the greasy blades on mine!
Update: My formerly useless 200mm f4 is now working great. Thanks!
Thanks for watching.
Clicked for content sub'd for 80's soundtrack!!!

Happy to help

How did you twist open the front? I can't twist mine open, its tight.
There is adhesive used. Use Isopropyl Alcohol to soften it.
