Thanks, Kip, for sharing your story, including the misfortune you're enduring; it's an important part of your story and needs to be told. I appreciate your abilities as a RUclips story teller; you make this channel a must see for me. Best wishes, and Happy Easter, to you and yours.
Hey Kip. I am a 72 y.o. man from Defiance, Ohio. You are living the dream. I was born and raised on a dairy farm om the 1960s. We only had 40 Holsteins milking usually. I milked from age 14 - 19.
Happy Easter Kip and families. So sorry for the nasty storm damage and especially one of your nice first calf heifers. Thankful you were able to salvage what you did. Love the turning radius of the 8400. Power also gets the job done faster. Prayers for MacKayla and the rest of you on this special day. Thank you for sharing the good bad and the ugly.
The thunder of that big hail on those tin roofs must have been terrifieing , to bad about the heifer but I guess only one causality isn't unacceptable ! Those bags surely show how severe that must have been , good job of all hands to put the best fix you can on it ! With everything that's going on in the dairy world already only one segment of agriculture would be mentally and physically capable of dealing with all those problems and that would be you guys that are already doing it , keep it up , somewhere down the road there's gotta be a sliver lining !! Got behind on my video watching so this is late but Happy Easter , and good thoughts for your niece! Planting will give you something new to concentrate on !!
Kip , I’m so sorry this happened to you guys . I’m praying for you on this Easter Sunday . I really enjoyed watching the 8400 out in the field . Thank you for the positive message during this time .
I not only learn about dairy farming from you but also many other things. I really appreciate how much you love your job and your herd. I pray for our farmers all the time. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us.
Horrible turn of events with that storm. So sorry to see all the damage and for the loss of a beautiful lady. Still praying for Mikayla......have a Happy Easter Kip and family.
Awesome 8400 👍 we got hit with hail hear in Wisconsin last spring and same problem with the AG bags and we had a guy come in and he painted the bags and resealed them that way cheap and easy
Thanks Kip good video sorry yal got hit hard hail & for the cow yal had to put down a plus she didn't go to waste ! Be safe. Daniel from central Mississippi
An Easter prayer for Kayla! You had a bad hail storm, sorry about losing that cow and all the damage but at least no human injuries! Love seeing that big tractor working. Happy Easter to the Siegler Family!
Kip thanks for all your hard work! I’m a butcher and I get cows once in a while that are casualties from just life on the farm. It sucks! I’ll keep the beef coming and you keep the milk pumping and days will be better!
Hey Kip thanks for responding! You and cole the cornstarch are the only ones out of all the channels I subscribe to that have answered me! You don’t realize how far that goes with a man like me! Especially being a farmer where the work is never done! I’d like to send you some product that we make! We been a family business for 40 yrs. pm me on face book and we will hash out the details. We got customers that come down from Alaska ever yea and South Dakota. FB Starlipers custom deer processing. My fiance’ runs the page. Send me a friend request. I’ll be looking forward in hearing from you again. Thanks Todd Beatty
Thanks for this video, and I hope you and your family had a peaceful and relaxing Easter. It's painful whenever I hear bad news from a farm or ranch, because of how incredibly hard and long everyone there works to keep it all going.
We just got hit with a spring snow storm here in Maine 14" of wet snow and wind, power is extensively out in central Maine. Now we have a heavy rain and wind storm coming tonight (Sunday) through Monday. Most do not have power now, may be many days till power is restored. We are good everybody is helping each other getting through. Sorry for the damage the hail did, just another set back for your farm. Take care and god bless
That storm was crazy bad. I live in the northern lower and we had smaller marble sized hail. Thank goodness we got it then instead the summer. Love the vids
Things get tough from this covid 19 crisis mother nature decides to make life a little harder, but that's what makes this country so great, some how some way we will overcome. This Easter has more meaning than anyone I can remember. God bless you and your family.
Good Sunday Morning to you kip. Glad everyone is safe. Lot of hail damage there. but glad no one was hurt in it. You and your family have a wonderful EASTER . love your videos kip. ROOSTER J ACERS
Happy Easter. We had one those hail storms a couple years ago only ares was in early august ,broke car windows damaged buildings and shredded corn fields . What a mess
There's some guys here in northern wyoming that have a set up similar with triples for land leveling. We use that pass to " level" the fields so the irrigation water will run the way it spose to
Amazing footage. Enjoyed watching the land being tended. Soil looks so rich. Inspires me to want to just chuck my tennis pro career away and go work for a rancher/farmer!
you're lucky...right now here in Minneapolis Minnesota, we have 2 inches of SNOW and it's STILL SNOWING...weatherbug says we might have up to 6 inches of snow....if this isn't the biggest you need a reason to stay indoors here's one from God to make you if I ever saw one.... I miss the farm, when I was growing up I lived on one, city forced our family off and made our property into factories...
That series of storms traveled from my area and went north towards you. They were bad down here as well. we got some penny sized hail but and wind that brought down some tree's. Sad to hear about the heifer. We had a storm last spring and my cows ran all over we had 5 escape from a hole in the fence 1 was hit by a car on the highway. Nice video stay safe and farm on my friend !
I'm thinking of you guys and praying for you. Often in our little world we feel isolated and alone as we experience these things. It's is saddening and depressing when these things do happen.although l must say they seem to be worse during the last thirty or so years.When. I was a kid in the sixtys and seventys we never experienced weather like this but now it seems like it is almost every year or its drought and massive bush fires.
To go through these things one has to dig deep and also draw on their faith in God that everything will balance out at the end and there is something left over as a reward for hard work and perseverance.
Back in 1965 we milked almost 70 in a big nice barn and about noon seen smoke coming out of the hay mow. Cows were in the pasture, we got all the calves out and three fat steers we had and the milk can cooler and milkers but the biggest trouble we had was trying to keep the cows away. They came running back and was trying to get in the barn. Some times their hard to understand what's going on in their head.
Our family drinks a lot of milk, almost a gallon every other day, but it makes me feel guilty when I see how hard you work to make it available to us. Milk should cost three times as much as it does. Thank you for all you do.
@@KipSieglerFarming1 People complain about milk prices but will go into a gas station and spend $2.00 on a bottle of pop and not bat a eye at doing it.
Kip, excellent way to explain to the layman why you run triples and duals! Great video! Sorry about all of the hail damage! Hope your insurance covers most if not all of it! Great content! I'm a new sub but I've seen a few of your vids, and you put out great content! Keep up the great work! Best wishes for the 2020 season! I was about to say are you going a little overboard with the tires...lol sometimes that's what sucks sure you don't want that to happen to any of them, but that still sucks when you have a young heifer, cow go's down.. but inerways good video.👍 sir.
First off, from one farmer to another, I'm sorry to hear about the damage done from the hail. I know how nature can deal a hard hand. Glad it wasn't any worse. Now as for that 8400, man I've never seen that much rubber on that model before! Lol That's cool! I'd noticed that custom exhaust too before you pointed it out! Drone footage was nice! That looked like a Krause disk!? How wide is it!?
53 years in Michigan, seen straight line winds, tornados and hail, never that size of hail until we moved to Kansas. Wife had her car totaled out with baseball size hail. The old story in Kansas, you never replace your roof until after a storm and your insurance assist in paying. Very little vinyl siding in Kansas because of hail.
You can work from silage pits or silos on a conveyor feeder system , I have worked that way for 14 years till towers became dangerous aged no problems, you need feeder wagon and short conveyor it’s not fastest feeder , but as fast as tower silos unloading never any problems. A bunker silage store is way more economical than bagged silage less waste of plastic and silage Good luck in this coming season from Scotland.👍🏴

We get floods but thats nothing compared to that size of hail, hope your all ok. Would a heavy cover sheet for a silo(bunker) not work to protect the agbags just a thought. Do you use legs chains on weaker cows to stop them doing the splits during bulling?
Im sorry your farm was hit by hail. where we lived before we got hit with over 1 million dollar in damage to the buildings from hail. You just need to keep positive about things and move on. Will keep good thoughts for you and your family.

I lived through a softball sized hail storm in central Iowa when I was in high school. Very scary experience. Had a classmate claim a hail stone came through their roof and landed on the kitchen table. Sorry you lost a cow but sounds like it could have been much worse for your cows.
I haven't been keeping up with you guys lately. Have you had to dump any milk yet. I seen the dog and pony show the Govenor put on, in that barn the other day. Shes not gonna do anything maybe she will wait and see I guess. I feel bad for the dairy farms we need them. There aren't vary many of them left.
Sorry you got hit by that storm, we had strong winds and rain Saturday night here in Nw Iowa and around 3AM it turned to snow and we ended up getting 7 inches of heavy wet snow and we also had 50 mph winds but the plows were out on the highways cuz it was Easter Sunday and the city was out plowing the streets but most of the town just let mother nature take care of sidewalks and driveways but businesses did there lots and sidewalks. By any chance have you had to dump milk down the drain yet.Theres slot of schools and colleges that have closed up and the dairy have been dumping milk due to no place to go with it. I hope things change around in a hurry and the virus dies out or slow down cuz Smithfield foods in Sioux Falls SD has over 400 cases of the virus and the plant will be closed for 2 weeks so it will slow down and could be closed longer cuz they said indefinitely but meant till the virus slows down and they get pn top of it. Sioux Falls SD is 88 miles away and my son who is a CPA lives up there and he is taking every precaution as they have a new 3 month old baby girl. And his wife is a teacher and has been teaching classes over the internet daily to get by. Hope things will perk up for you and that triple axle tractor looks awesome, would love to make one in 1/16th scale for my collection. Stay safe. Love your videos.

Thank you stay safe
