Arena doesn't have problems with amount of cards in hand, the lag is somehow tied to World Trees. Somehow World Trees are fighting how Arena is calculating what you can do with mana and lag the game. The more World Trees you have the worse the game gets.
From what I understand, controlling multiple world trees gives lands multiple "T: add one mana of any color" abilities, and arena really does not like having a lot of permanents with a lot of abilities
Timeless Lotus and Teferi were surprisingly good at supporting the Door wins. In regards to Freyalise, I don't think it really fits what Legacy elves wants to do since that deck is really focused on Natural Order and wants to play a ton of 1-mana elves for Glimpse of Nature. Modern Elves I could see using Freyalise, though.
So is Amulet of Vigor not int he format Saffron plays? I feel like that would be great with the Lotus & Door although you can't double-tap Lotus like you could with Teferi but fast lands and artifacts sounds fantastic.
In the first game you can see that Seth wanted to draw an untapped white source off the rev x6 and was concerned about losing to a muxus for lethal without having access to fateful absence, so he played a tapped land, forgetting that it was his 6th land, enabling world tree's mana fixing.
As for the lag, from what I have heard, having more than 2 World Tree lands in play can cause a lot of lag. I think because each one is giving all your lands the "tap for any color" ability.
22:58 Seth: "Wow, opponent's deck looks insane!" Have you not been playing much historic? Prior to Brother's war, this deck was almost half my matches in Bo1 on the ladder. Yeah, it's insane. Would them animating the Hall actually "counter" Boseiju? I don't think it would, because Ward is a triggered ability *when* it becomes the target of something, and since the Boseiju is already targeting Hall, I don't think Ward would trigger if they animated it afterward.
True, Ward is a triggered ability thus wouldn't trigger since it's already been targeted. For the +1 on the alchemy planeswalker, instead of the creature in your hand perpetually getting +1/+1,you: choose one either: exile an elf card face down from your hand and put a growth counter on it, or put a growth counter on a card exiled face down with it. Elves you control have +1/+1 for each growth counter on them, and your maximum hand size is reduced by 1 for each card exiled with it.
They could do Perpetually with stickers. Since those are now mechanics I think this is the best way that the Perpetually mechanic could work in paper based on what they have already introduced.
In match 4, you don't need to worry about them turning on Hall of the Storm Giants. If you've already targeted it, making it a creature won't suddenly trigger ward. By that point it's too late.

38:20 If a permanent gains ward after its already been targeted, nothing happens. Ward is a triggered ability so if it gains ward after the event that would trigger ward, it does not protect the permanent.
seth, game 2 against Phoenix you said "we cant boseiju hall bc of ward" but you can. you boseiju target the hall, then they activate in response but it doesnt matter because ward says "becomes the target" but boseiju already declared it a legal target, ward wouldn't trigger.
Seth during spoiler season : "I feel like this card requires too much setup to ever be really good" Seth during against the odds: "we only need to set up these 4 cards that each cost 5+ mana and for our opponent to not have any interactions across these 3 different card types and it's an easy win."
Try this deck on for size: Drannith Magistrate X2 Greater Auramancy X2 Ossification X2 Strict Proctor X2 Destiny Spinner X2 Damping Sphere X4 (can be replaced with anything else, it's just nice to have on opening draw if you don't have rule of law) Minimus Containment X2 Phyrexian Unlife X2 Solemnity X2 Rule of Law X2 Ground Seal X2 Linvala, Keeper of Silence X1 Shalai, Voice of Plenty X2 Defense of the Heart X2 (or without damping sphere X3 or 4 as it is an important card) Cosmos Elixir X2 The Immortal Sun X1 Approach of the Second Sun X2 (if all else fails, it's a back up plan) Avacyn, Angel of Hope X1 Mana base can be anything, but you can use 4 Lotus field thanks to strict proctor. Main idea of this deck is to prevent your opponent from being able to do literally anything. Main weaknesses of the deck are sacrifice and exile cards. You can add something to give Shalai hexproof so she can't be targeted by any removal as well, but I like to have her exposed to at least give my opponent a chance. The deck is kind of slow as well, but all around when you start putting cards down, especially when you get Avacyn, Shalai, and Greater Auramancy onto the field, your opponent is going to scopp 9/10. This deck is especially effective against tribal/aggresive decks/removal heavy decks. Approach of the second sun is a nice alternative win condition if all else fails.
I'm kinda confused as to why it was so important to draw the land against Izzet Phoenix. Seth did, then tapped the lotus and five lands to activate door and still had the world tree untapped... am I missing something, or was he wrong?

-1: Reveal Cards from the top till you reveal an Elf, add it to the hand and put the other reveal cards on the bottom in a random order
-6: Create a Token named "Regal Force" with types stats abilities etc etc
I don't know the exact syntax that'd be used, and Emblems always get wordy, but I feel like, while it doesn't give you the absurd "I play a 4/4 Elf" pump that buffing cards perpetually does, it does recreate the "buff Elves that have not yet arrived" energy

I figure using an Emblem would make more sense than putting counters on Freyalise because A: As a Planeswalker she already hosts Loyalty Counters, and B: It means the buffs will still be in play even if she gets removed, which fits the spirit
C: Just cause its funny it makes it a proliferate target I'm pretty sure
Oh and D: Making it a single Emblem that uses counters, rather than multiple emblems that self-sac as part of the trigger, means it buffs many elves instead of mega-roiding a single elf
This is the sort of Magic I want to watch
Its criminal that Hodor wasnt the thumbnail
I've been playing this with Ramos in brawl. Been so much fun
38:20 If a permanent gains ward after its already been targeted, nothing happens. Ward is a triggered ability so if it gains ward after the event that would trigger ward, it does not protect the permanent.
This was a fun deck!
seth, game 2 against Phoenix you said "we cant boseiju hall bc of ward" but you can. you boseiju target the hall, then they activate in response but it doesnt matter because ward says "becomes the target" but boseiju already declared it a legal target, ward wouldn't trigger.
In the Phoenix match, why were the DRC’s 3/1’s instead of 3/3’s?
I don’t play historic so I didn’t know it got the nerf. Now I do ha.
What about amulet of vigor? Is that not legal in historic?
Seth during spoiler season : "I feel like this card requires too much setup to ever be really good"
Seth during against the odds: "we only need to set up these 4 cards that each cost 5+ mana and for our opponent to not have any interactions across these 3 different card types and it's an easy win."
Try this deck on for size:
Drannith Magistrate X2
Greater Auramancy X2
Ossification X2
Strict Proctor X2
Destiny Spinner X2
Damping Sphere X4 (can be replaced with anything else, it's just nice to have on opening draw if you don't have rule of law)
Minimus Containment X2
Phyrexian Unlife X2
Solemnity X2
Rule of Law X2
Ground Seal X2
Linvala, Keeper of Silence X1
Shalai, Voice of Plenty X2
Defense of the Heart X2 (or without damping sphere X3 or 4 as it is an important card)
Cosmos Elixir X2
The Immortal Sun X1
Approach of the Second Sun X2 (if all else fails, it's a back up plan)
Avacyn, Angel of Hope X1
Mana base can be anything, but you can use 4 Lotus field thanks to strict proctor.
0:54 double WURBRG 🤣
So, to explain, cards that were NERFED for ALCHEMY revert back to normal after rotation. Any BUFFS, no matter what, stay.
i remember seeing doorway as a newb back in 2012, and even at the time thinking it would be impossible to win with
I'm kinda confused as to why it was so important to draw the land against Izzet Phoenix. Seth did, then tapped the lotus and five lands to activate door and still had the world tree untapped... am I missing something, or was he wrong?
He needed the sixth land to activate the world tree’s mana of any color ability so he could get the second red and black mana he needed.
@@greenknight8811 Yeah, World Tree doesn't fix our mana until we have six lands, so without the last land we'd have enough mana to activate Door, but not the right colors of mana.
