Plane spotting looks like fun when it's coming from somewhere warm and sunny - and it is, it's a wonderful hobby - but it can be grim at times. I've done a little bit of spotting over the years in England and it always seemed to be winter or raining or both. Freezing cold hands, scalding hot coffee, chattering teeth and wobbling binoculars. 🥶 Brrr. I think the only thing even less comfortable was sitting in a snowy back garden from dusk till dawn with a telescope, cataloguing variable stars. Fascinating, but so... bloomin'... COLD.
