    1:41 UNBELIEVABLE! That last bounce ~ which has to be one of the biggest ever seen ~ and the pilot _still_ brings it back down for another attempt at landing!
    I'd love to know how many passengers were NOT praying/crying/screaming when it came in to land minutes later.

      I was glad the pilot managed to get the main gear under them for that bounce into the go-around. If the nose gear had hit first again it could have been messy.

    My first thought was "Must be windy", but in the first few seconds a windsack can be seen on the right side of the screen, showing low to medium wind at best. They just fucked it up big time. With that last bounce I actually thought they are gonna completely crash the plane.

    Are planes designed & built to withstand a tail strike like that?

    • @4evertrue830

    I knew exactly what was coming at 1:32. Landing nose first is just asking for an oscillation scenario. The nose strut compresses and rebounds causing the mains to come down and bounce thereby causing the nose to come down even faster next time etc... The first bounce might've been recoverable, the second should've been a go-around, and the others were just completely and needlessly reckless.

Notice the guy chasing the responders with a long pole with a camera on top besides the fact that the explosion was on the ground directed up and not on the aircraft. If anything unplanned maybe a runaway ground APU but the camera guy in tow and blast only directed up ehhhh.

    • @4evertrue830
      @4evertrue830 8 месяцев назад

      For a go-around in case he wasn't able to land the first time. The auto throttle will engage.

    • @JetlinerX
      @JetlinerX 8 месяцев назад +2

      Airbus keeps a lot of its automation on from wheels up to wheels down. The autothrottle was doing just fine maintaining approach speed but the pilot in command felt he wanted just a couple more knots and bumped the power up a tad. Nothing out of the ordinary at all, its all about feel since he was hand flying the approach. Otherwise, the auto throttle is pretty much controlling every aspect of the engines through the whole flight.

    • @chris22capt
      @chris22capt 8 месяцев назад +1

      The autothrottle react slowly to speed change in fcu, so the captain push the throttle faster which disconnect the autothrottle. The A220 autothrottle is capable to be used on landing. It will retard the throttle at 30 ft agl, regardless the approach type.

    I'd Name the ATR 'Tigger' ..... What a bouncer ..... also on that ICAO Emergency Exercise why does the person at the back assume a Fishing Rod would be a good bit of emergency equipment? 😂 Nice Vids as ever love them Quinny

    The first video is a training exercise, people!! You see the first responders running towards the aircraft, and the one behind holding a tall pole with a camera attached to film the training. The camera makes the aircrafts appear closer to each other than they really are. it's called "perspective" GET A GRIP!

    The first video. It doesn't look like any aircraft 'exploded'. It looks like it happened between the two aircraft.

    The erupted plane doesn't seem to be the Bae146. The expolison looks like happened at the aft of the turboprop that stands next to it, or between those two.

      Why did they attempt the last one. Looked like the flying pilot decided to go around and the other pilot took over and tried to force it in. Incidentally, I think the last bounce caused the most damage.
