    Thanks so much for making this video. It seems like you are the only one out there who has made a tutorial on how to create an ebook in adobe illustrator, which is crazy. So extra thanks because of that!

      Quick couple questions: 1) how can you create links in the PDF?! 2) It seems like it might be easier to create ebooks in Adobe InDesign, but I've never used it. What are your thoughts?

    Really great tutorial. I am new to design and was wondering if you had a tutorial on creating a brand board and what things I should put in every brand board that I do. Thank you.

      Hey Jim! I do not have a tutorial for branding boards as this is not a service I offer my clients but I did find a FREE Illustrator branding board templates available from one of my blogger friends. You can download it here:

    Hi, I'm new to Adobe Illustrator. I found your tutorial very useful. However, when I try to create a document myself, it doesn't work. As soon as I hit create I am faced with a black screen instead of white where the artboards should be. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. I have been using canva.com to design my ebook and print book covers but I want to learn Illustrator because I've heard is better - it gives more options. Can you please help? I don't understand what is going on. I am following along your instructions but I can continue because I don't have the white pages to work on.

      Hi Lily! I am so sorry you are frustrated. I want to help if I can! To start with, what version of Illustrator are you working in??

      @@ErinGipfordFreelance I'm not sure. I'll let you know when I find out. As I said, I'm new to illustrator. It showed me a button for update so I might that. I assume it will give me the latest version. :( I managed to find the white art board by slightly dragging the untitled created (white showed black and confused me thinking it's nothing there) but it seems glitchy. I have to be very careful how I move it around and when I try to add text to it, it shows some random Latin text I didn't even put there. I'm not even talking about going further inserting images or colours. It's frustrating to be honest. I like designing book covers and other things but I think I'll stick to canva for now. :( Thank you for trying to help. I had a look at the tutorials you have on youtube and on your website because I wanted to learn but I must be clicking some wrong buttons unknowingly and if I can't follow your steps, I won't be able to learn. :(

    I just wanted to ask, for designer like you, How long does it takes to finished an e book design with 12-13 pages to make

    • @ErinGipfordFreelance
      @ErinGipfordFreelance  7 лет назад

      Hi Janet! I would say, as long as all the copy and photos are provided, it would take me 3-4 hours to lay out a 12-13 page book. Sort of depends if the customer has an outline of what they want or if I have total creative freedom. If I have total creative freedom it takes a bit longer but in general, I would quote it at 3-4 hours. Does that help?

    • @janetobenario9564
      @janetobenario9564 7 лет назад

      thanks erin. how about 15-17 pages? Recently, I just have this concern cause I don't know how to quote the time will consume when making an ebook design. (the text and images are already provided) I explain to my client that if he wants more creative styles will it definitely needs takes time..

      Well, remember to take into account your level of skills. I have been doing this for 15+ years so it's second nature to me and comes very easily. It might take you longer and you want to make sure your time is accounted for. I say quote on the higher end and if it doesn't take you that long they will be pleasantly surprised, but at least you're covered either way. Good luck and have fun!!
